The deck is great, it will definitely be back in the channel at some point. I just have so many decks I want to try, though! It's the problem with the format!
The struggle is real in Premodern. Just so many fun decks and variations out there. Right now I brew around the card "Contamination", but a nice Dreadnought deck is also tempting. Just not sure which version to build. Your UW variation also seems powerful.
I prefer the UW version, but it's also the one I have spent the most time working on and the one I have most experience with. All Dreadnought decks are great, and very fun to play imo@@BoeseTat
The Mono U version is better at being a one trick pony and doing the one thing: putting a 12/12 into play and protecting it. The splashes allow you for alternative plans and different gears to play in.
At 34:46 couldn't you have attacked with dreadnough + psychatog, had psychatog chumped, then play out the 2nd dreadnought, sacrificing your tapped dreadnought to the etb trigger to have a blocker for the crackback?
That's actually a very interesting thought that I didn't consider. At that point my plan is to get to a point where I can set up a 2nd Dreadnought, which would allow me to present an actual lethal attack in a single swoop. I am not sure how much getting my opponent down to 1 achieves if afterwards my Dreadnought is going to get kept in check by the Kor Haven. Definitely a very interesting spot!
Thanks for the video! Great move to use Vision Charm to grow the tog! What do you think about exchanging one of the impulses with Predict? For the Control matchups, I would want Winter Orb in the sideboard. can the deck with 3 psychatog afford to play Winter Orb though? I found UW-Midrange to be a tough matchup. What do you think about a single Cabal Pit in the side to deal with Meddling Mages protected by moms. Thank you for all your content. Very much appreciated :)
Thanks for watching! a) I think Predict is just worse than Impulse every time you don't draw Portent specifically, so I am not interested in it. b) I think I'd rather have Tsabo's Web than Orb. c) Cabal Pit is interesting. The way to beat Mom protecting Mage is with Psychatog, but Pit sounds like it does something unique and could we worth including as a 1 of. Mom + Mage matchups are literally your worst possible, so Idk how much sb space you want to dedicate to trying to make that slightly better anyway.
@@fpawluszmtg yep. It is also a great way to shift towards a more controlling game if you need it instead of just keep trying to make the shrimp happen. Love it. Hell even the Ur version has some interesting things :D
Yes, I really like that about Dreadnought decks: every version has a very distinct set of pros and cons and a distinct flavor. Really fun decks, imo!@@kzelmer
Sorcery speed for a 2 mana card is a deal breaker. I'd much rather play another Impulse. In fact, after having played this 4 matches if I were to play the deck again I'd cut Vault for Impulse.
If I do that I am basically discarding a card, which is pretty relevant when my plan is to play a Psychatog and make it larger than 12/12, and I have Foil in my hand. Also if I do draw my own DN at some point then I am going to feel pretty stupid when I don't have access to the extra Charm. Sure, then I drew nothing after that, but considering the current scenario when I made the decision I still stand by it.
Love seeing psychatog in action again!!
Psychatog being playable is awesome and gives me the best kinds of feelings
Hope to see this massive brew in action again, looking forward how it unfolds in more matches

Nice content, glad to see Psychatog in action again. In your opinion, The Mono blue version is better in which scenarios? Thanks.

Any time!@@Johnny_E
Having a second wincon makes it sooo cool
Yes, especially it being a win con that can end the game and demand respect by itself. It really gives a whole another dimension to the deck.

Ggwp mate
Thanks! Will get there next time!
do you think diabolic vision might be playable as say a one of in this shell? it's less selection overall than Vault but isn't card disadvantage

Portent is just way to importent.
Looooool! As a huge pun fan I am upset at myself for never thinking of this xD
Lol round 4, game 3, you even said you can vision charm away the 2 lands under the gush and then you just didn't and you lost because of it.
