I love this warm up and use it pretty frequently. My last name is Bigner and with her accent beginner sounds almost the exact same as the pronunciation of Bigner so at the end of the video when she explains how the tempo may be to fast for some "Bigners" I always get offended and laugh at myself for being offended. I'm trying darn it! 🤣🤣🤣
Thankyou!!! I am a very visual 72 year old disabled USCG Veteran from the rupture of a 5mm aneurism behind my left eye... but can wail the begeebers out of my Meinl Slap/top Cajon and Remo Bongos...I just purchased a Pro"15 in.: Snare for $61.00! I just marked my REMO practice pad with L/R so I can keep up with the video metronome and visual R/L music designation ! It was really exciting seeing you drumming from above!!! Wish me luck! I will need it! HAHA! I wanted to play drums back in 1963 but the band teacher was holding out the snares for the A-Band students! will be practicing with your video piece! WOW! And as the say in the Coast Guard....Hugs and Kisses!
EC, this is an exceptional warm up exercise. THX for this. At 70 YO, a resurrected "drummer", playing again after a 50 Year Hiatus, I better get Busy !!! 100 BPM is not in my wheel house, but I will try. I will tell you all. It SUX to get Old.... Aches and pains are chronic; arthritis in the spine , hips and knees, but I still persevere best I can. Who knows, maybe a Geriatric Band will surface here around me. one day soon. For now, I try to keep tempo with My Music: CCR, Petty, Mellencamp, Stones, Beatles, Clapton, Talking Heads, Cars, Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, etc... Oh Linda Ronstadt & Bonnie Rait too...
I've been playing bass, guitar, and piano for over 15 years, just started picking up drums, and this is the best warmup exercise I've ever seen for any instrument. Perfect set of techniques to practice and a perfect song to play along with. Great work here, everyone!
i gotta say, about 3 days ago, i had very little knowledge of drums. i knew the most basic rhythm and maybe a paradiddle at 100 bpm. because ive been practicing like crazy, i can almost play this how its supposed to be played. thank you so much for this video. its amazing.
Excellent. I had a lot of fun warming up with this today. It got quiet difficult at the end. The track is perfect for rudiments. I love it. This is now by far my favourite way to practice rudiments. Thank you Drumeo and thank you Emmanuelle Caplette and thank you Kaz Rodriguez for the track. I am going to try to practice Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone to this track. I love the tempo changes. Much more fun than a metronome. I need to find more tracks like this.
This is a full course on sticking, phrasing.l.,.,.a comprehensive exercise for all. I’d have to take each exercize one at a time and repeat like stick control. A well produced video!
Would be great to see more of this production style of video. I'm a drum teacher and my students love it! Can you please make some more? If anyone knows where to find more video's like this please let me know. Otherwise any tech savvy drum teachers, could be a lucrative hole in the market. Get busy :) Great work Drumeo, Emmanuelle is awesome!!
Not matter what name you call it…..the technique is flawless, natural, precise, functional, from hand position to stroking. I wish E. Enormous success for her generosity in sharing her skills to the world.
Love this, i couldnt play all the sections so i broke it down and spent time on each section in my practice. After not being able to play it at all, i can nearly play the whole thing without flaws, took a few weeks but I'm getting there
Thank you so much Emmanuelle I never knew how much fun basics could be. Ive been playing for 48 years and still learned the basics and will start now after this great video!!!
I love watching EC's hand technique, from the perspective that her "throws" are so perfect. Her match grip is perfectly MATCHED. Arguably the best match grip player out there when it comes to technique.
@@mrpiklez3703 Thank you for that deep and insightful commentary. Would you like to expand on your thought process or shall I assume you just have an axe to grind 🤔?
@@jeffreyappezzato9179 Literally look at any DCI quad player or any high level high school group and they will have significantly better technique and chops than her
After not truly playing for almost 15 years…I’m going to get back into it. I have tendon issues so gonna take it easy but looking forward to learn and this song is 🔥
You have the best presentation style for drumming on TH-cam bar none!no ego like a lot of guys have.just girl having fun and playing great drums. My favourite drummer is a Cuban guy called Enilda Rasua.he has phenomenal independence with 2 sticks each hand. You come in 2nd.
:-( Guys I tried this and no cartoon fire accompanied my hits on the pad ? What am I doing wrong ? :( RIP The editor who had to go through and manually put in every one exactly at the right time for every single hit for both angles for the entire video.
Many programs have an automated placement (of animation) for redundant repetition in videos.. so it probably wasn't manually added unless it went out of sync. It's called motion tracking.
Thanks so much!! It was fun revisiting what I've mostly forgotten from guitar lessons I took about 30 years ago or so. I always wanted to keep them up, but couldn't. Rhythm was always so much fun to me.
In looooove with THIS! A m a I z I n g! My first ejercice with so amazing changes, and understanding the sense of dobles and singles in semicorcheas.Great ❤
@@DrumeoOfficial haha yes he truly is! I’ve done some editing in the past and this is great job! Great effect, I love it! Of course Emmanuelle prime sort! Is she also teaching at Drumeo?
Hi Brandon, you are an excellent teacher and I nam already part of drumeo. Now, thanks to you I see that I am able to play more songs. 🥰❤I played at least 3 or 4 of the 5 partial songs. I stopped to write after the 4th. I should be able to play that fifth after I play video back. I was so busy writing.
Awesome lesson Emmanuelle!! Cool track too! I'm getting an Interstellar kind of vibe at certain parts which is awesome. Also, I'm a huge Chillwave, Synthwave, Retrowave fan so it reminds a little of some of my favorite stuff I chillout to.
Love warming up with this! I usually play it at least twice. I'm a beginner and am just getting the accent section down. I only wish it had more than two measures of parradiddles, but I found your paradiddle exercise for that!
Emmanuelle , I absolutely love this. I hate practicing rudiments, but this makes it fun. Do you more of these? Perhaps your book has more of this. Thanks.
Omg i have to try this!! I love practicing with the pad while music is in the background. So this is just perfect! :D Thank you for this super nice video!!
I’m a new drummer, and this video is fantastic, can we get more like this, the angles are great, the video is mirrored which is fantastic and the notes going by is so helpful to a brand new drummer
The right hand left hand thing makes it confusing since the notes aren't on the same line. on regular music sheets I just see an "R" or an "L" under the notes to show which hand to use.
I've been playing for 35 years and I am SOOO humbled right now it's not even funny. 😧 EDIT: I played through the video a second time, but this time at 75% speed. Much easier. I also counted the last 4-8 measures, (the ones with the accents) as 1,2,3,4 instead of 1 e & a. I know this is incorrect, but it helped me nail those pesky accents! lol! Good luck everyone!
First minute I was like, this is too basic. Then the syncopated alternating hands kicked in, then the alternating accents kicked in, and it became “better pay attention, son!” Great warm-up, thanks for posting.
Difficult for a beginner, but not TOO difficult. Played slowed down for the first few times and I'll get it just fine. Emmanuelle, you a fellow Quebecer? The accent sure points that way :) Thanks for the excellent learning tool!

No way is this for beginners at my level. Have mercy on the genuine beginner.
I agree. My beginners can be five years old with ADHD
I’m not sure if the section on ghost notes is necessary for the entry level drum pad user.
It's challenging but this is something a beginner can tackle! You can't level up until you sweat a little :p
To the editor who added all the little graphics on each hit - you are a star! A Very patient star :D

Haha that's the idea!
This was quite epic indeed 🔥
I'm not a beginner and this is still fantastic... More of this please!
It's not for begginers... 😅 I've been playing for a year and I can't do some of this things not that fast at least...

It really does make a difference. Let us know if we can help!
Agreed, there are no secrets and no shortcuts, only patience and dedication 🙂
This warm up is not only good for beginners, it’s good for all and actually reminds me a bit of the first page of stick control for the snare drummer.
Not dissimilar. Thanks Jason!

WOW!!! If every rudiment lesson was done to a track like this, my practice would be hours long!!!!! Thank you!!
Can't wait to give this a go, I find practicing with a track much more engaging - especially where the pulse and accents are written in the to song.
For a new drummer this was excellent. I had to slow it down to 50% and got a bit confused on the accent part, but thank you, I will work on it!

Haha Best post so far.
Emmanuelle Caplette is a very good timing drummer. so the editing operator has never been forced. sync super.
Emmanuelle's secret is to always be smiling when playing. Have you tried that to get the fire?
As long as the speed is correct for the highest bpm, the rest fall in line. Automatically

This is a really good hihat time keeping workout if you're on the kit, or just with your foot. Especially at the end with the moving accents.
