Rule nr.1 of working with a team: always include your team in your successes, and take personal responsibility for your losses. "we won", and "I lost". (If you want a long, pleasant and productive cooperation with your team of course).
I have a picture of my 5 year old son holding Keely's commonwealth silver medal, literally minutes after she had been presented it. She sat down in front of us to watch the next medal ceremony and was so gracious to show us the medal. Possibly my best moment of 2022. We will be cheering her on in Birmingham in a few weeks time. As for my son, his sporting hero is Armand Duplantis, what can I say, he is a complete pole vault nut.
To all at AW - congrats on a wonderfully produced video, I liked the format of this behind-the-scenes video with Keely & her team. It made Keely from a "famous athlete" become so much more a real person with family & friends around her, and to be there to witness the 600 meters new British record good luck to Keely for a new 800 meters record & gold medals in 2023.
Great video, exactly the kind of content that athletics needs. No need for any Netflix-style drama, just a real insight into how an athlete prepares for a race.
She's looking great. Her breathing didn't even look labored immediately after as she was looking at the time results. Hoping she stays healthy and puts on a good show this season. Mu will have her work cut out.
This was great! Such a treat to be able to see so much of the behind the scenes material. I actually had no idea that pacers worked for specific runners, I always assumed they were employed by the event directors to aid all runners. Really looking forward to some epic 800 finals in the coming years!
Such a great video and amazing athlete! She and Athing Mu are amazing competition and I feel they’re really gonna push one another well this year. I cannot wait to see more to come!
What a great video! Keep up the great job, AW's TH-cam channel is fast becoming a must subscribe! If you told me the BBC made this I'd have believed you! And of course, congrats to young Keely. This is the stuff the public generally don't see, as the broadcasters only focus on the glory days of the Olympics or the occasional Championships.
This is such a gift to the sport. To have Athing and Keely at this level and competitiveness is going to make for fun viewing. Very exciting, congrats to Keely
Fantastic stuff. Very atmospheric, yet also kind of intimate and endearing. Kelly’s performance was amazing to watch on my phone. It must have been wonderful for her family and friends to be there to witness it. Was that a squash court being used as a call room? 😊
A nice and understated atmosphere in the production and at the track. A grass roots world record fo the best British middle distance runner since Cram.
Great cinematography!! Just subbed as this was awesome!!! P.S. the pacemaker was fearless. It is So hard to step into the inside track moving at that speed, but she did as requested.
So good to hear those words: keep the emotion stable, don’t take the high too high or the lows too low. You have the right attitude. Walk the middle path. And you will go far. Wishing you all the best for years to come.
What a really lovely young woman! And such a brilliant athlete too. She's my pick for Paris 2024 and I shall be supporting her all the way. She's an absolute star.
What's very encouraging there is how fresh Keely appeared at the end of the race. You can't help feeling that she could have done another lap in 31 secs to produce a 1min 54sec 800m or at least gone through 600m in, say, 1min 25scs and then produced a 29sec 200m to again run 1min 54sec. Roll on the summer.
I found this amazingly insightful…the thought process, the strategy, her goals, what happens in a meet when the competitor isn’t running, etc. And from an athlete who has a chance to accomplish some stuff for herself and country !
I ran the 600m in university too. It is a fast race, but fun because you can sustain that "flying" like a madman shot out of a cannon feeling for a bit longer than a short sprint. Too bad I didn't get a chance to train, who knows what records one can smash when they train for this stuff.
I'm even more impressed with her reaction to doing it... Quiet satisfaction. "Can you meet triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters the same"
That's fantastic! Average is insane 27"80/200m. If we project it directly to an 800m, it will be a 1:51 so considering a slower average, would we say worth a 1:53-1:54?
@anfibcoris No, no way the 600 is a sprint for an 800 runner the 1st 400 was blistering, and it's too early in the season to project, she is probably in 1:57+ 58 shape right now.
nice video. A note to whoever does audio editing, the intro was really cool, but when it stops, there is a small pop. if you have a tiny fade out of the audio at the end you won't get that pop noise.
Best of luck (from Canada)! She seem to be positively level headed. I remember playing basketball & I was the type that plays till the end before celebrating or making conclusions. Even if I’m having a hard game, it’s a team sport & we could still win. Running isn’t a team sport, which must be hard. b/c anyone else in the sport will be a rival to some extent, whereas I made friendships for life. Still- must be great to reach for such goals & attain such success
I accidentally stumbled on this; very interesting! The pace setter, Issy Boffey, wears a bib that says "pacer"- this was apparently a small, low key meet, but is that also used at the big international outdoor meets like the outdoor Diamond League, where a record attempt is planned, so a pace setter leads and then drops out at a designated lap or spot in the track, does that athlete also get, instead of their surname, a bib that says "pacer"? And when Issy drops out, is was in an awkward place, different from outdoor tracks, this indoor facility had that line of cones, that almost tripped her up as she tried to peel off.... And that she just finished an 800 of her own, and then has to stretch and keep her muscles from tightening, and then "doubling back" when it comes time for Keely's race, for 400 or so meters as pacer.... The closeup of the shoes on the start line as the gun goes off (5:13)...appears that Keely's feet flinch backward just fractionally, and then move forward.
Loved at the end where she said "did WE do it" shows she is aware of her team.. awesome work.. congratulations
Or thr royal we? As it happens I agree with you, but you're leaving yourself open 🙂
Trainerz. Coachez. RARELY get medallionz thoeh
yeah the WE must mean a lot to the support crew and pacemaker

He is a complete pole vault nut therefore he is great!
Great video! We need more of this sort of thing to shine more of a light on the stars of our sport. Thank you for putting this together.
Thanks! It's something we really hope we can do in the sport because the athletes deserve that exposure in this immersive way!
Should have been on the national news too busy covering darts.
Spectacular! Strong, talented and humble.
I didn’t know 600 was a thing. Is 800 too long?
To all at AW - congrats on a wonderfully produced video, I liked the format of this behind-the-scenes video with Keely & her team. She set the world record.
I loved this more of these please!!!
This video is on another level. congratulations!
Pure Class 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Great video! A small local meet with no real pressure or competition and a fantastic record. What a treat for the few hundred in attendance.
Love the cinematic work done in this video and congrats to Keely for an amazing performance!
Really lovely edit. What a level headed athlete Keely is - clearly a special talent.
Holy shit I just discovered this channel now I have to do like 60 hours of binge watching.
Great video, exactly the kind of content that athletics needs. No need for any Netflix-style drama, just a real insight into how an athlete prepares for a race.

Mu was just a step above last season. Two prodigious talents. This is what we want! Coe v Ovett style!

Love the video - excellent storytelling and the edit was spot on
This was a amazing piece of film work. Well done, straight fire!
Keely looking DANGEROUS. World record in Budapest.

Very well produced video and what a talented and lovely person Keely is. Well run indeed.
Wow...I loved the format of this behind-the-scenes video. It made the "famous athlete" become so much more a real person.
insane work! Congrats!
Congratulations Keeley! Great video, also.
Absolutely Brilliant
Congrats to Keely. Brilliant race. Way to get fired up. To AW - congrats on a wonderfully produced vid.

I love it when i come across a video like this,it,s made my day,Cheers
Great Video. Well done Keely
I really love Keely's running form. She looks so light and effortless. At the end she didn't even look labored. Incredible.
What a great video! Keep up the great job, AW's TH-cam channel is fast becoming a must subscribe! If you told me the BBC made this I'd have believed you!

Amazing content, feelings the emotions with this video.
This is such a gift to the sport. To have Athing and Keely at this level and competitiveness is going to make for fun viewing. Very exciting, congrats to Keely
Well done Keely she has achieved so much and she’s still only 20 years old.

Was that a squash court being used as a call room? 😊
Yeah! It's the track in the indoor athletics centre by the Etihad Stadium
Perfectly executed, well done.
A nice and understated atmosphere in the production and at the track. A grass roots world record fo the best British middle distance runner since Cram.
ovett was the best
Great cinematography!! Just subbed as this was awesome!!! P.S. the pacemaker was fearless. It is So hard to step into the inside track moving at that speed, but she did as requested.
That's a high quality and well produced video, well done!
Best track video I’ve seen in a long time
So good to hear those words: keep the emotion stable, don’t take the high too high or the lows too low. You have the right attitude. Walk the middle path. And you will go far. Wishing you all the best for years to come.
Brilliant. Go girl go! Best of luck in 2023.

Great BTS, congrats Keely!
A majestic runner. International distance events are a pleasure to watch.
That is a fantastic run - so incredibly fast!!!
Man, she is focused! I love Athing, but this young lady is on a very solid mission. Wishing them both the best.
A privilege to watch Keely run & great work AW.
She is simply gorgeous
Pure class.Such a beautiful athlete to watch.

The pre-race clips gave me second-hand nerves! Great production!
Keely Hodgkingson - Olympian gold medalist Paris 2024 ❤
Great content
Awesome film
Looking forward to seeing her outdoors
I love that she says, "Did WE do it?"
I love how British her reaction and the crowd's reaction was.
She seems super well-grounded. Congrats! Great video.
Absolute pleasure to see a young woman who is talented and so down to earth Athletics has a future and she’s got a great future
Quality production. Keely's an absolute superstar, but we already knew that.
I found this amazingly insightful…the thought process, the strategy, her goals, what happens in a meet when the competitor isn’t running, etc. And from an athlete who has a chance to accomplish some stuff for herself and country !
Классный фильм. 👍Оригинальное оформление. Кили очень симпатичная и обаятельная девушка.🥰
Ждём её больших побед.💫

I'm even more impressed with her reaction to doing it... Quiet satisfaction. "Can you meet triumph and disaster and treat those two imposters the same"
Wow - looked effortless. Class runner, hope she has a great season!
Brilliant ❤
Well produced immersive production of a tough human endeavour filled with passion and determination
athing mu is going to have her hands full this season..keely just keeps inproving
this is defiantly the content you should be moved towards now. its class

Scoring tables equate it to a 1:58.2, but as Keely is more strength based I'd guess she's in low-mid 57 form right now
Fabulous, awesome, a world beater....her talent and hard work are inspiring and I hope she achieves all her goals in the future
More records to follow I am so sure! best wishes to u cool Keely x
nice video. A note to whoever does audio editing, the intro was really cool, but when it stops, there is a small pop. if you have a tiny fade out of the audio at the end you won't get that pop noise.
OMG ....so AMAZING!!! my hero:)
Nice 😍
Keely is top shape, great spirit, so inspirational, that she is also gorgeous is just the cherry on top!
standing ovation from crowds that are in the know
She looked damn good there. Especially for the pace she was running
Best of luck (from Canada)! She seem to be positively level headed. I remember playing basketball & I was the type that plays till the end before celebrating or making conclusions. What a lovely girl. I’m looking forward to see her running in the summer.she’s going to go right to the top.
What a athlete and what a beauty. Sponsors are gonna love her
She looked like she had more in the tank too! Go Keely
Which is faster ? Her running or her talking ? I love you Keely

BIG Congrats WR holder!!!💥💥💥
Nice to hear her say.
Did we do it.
Phenomenal! Congratulations 🎊
You are a WR holder.
Way to go Champ! 🏆
God Speed...no pun intended. 😉😊😁😇
I'm always amazed that athletes aren't nearly collapsing from oxygen deprivation. Like are they even trying.
Apart from her racing, I just also love to hear her interviews.
As soon as she said what she was planning to do, I knew that she'd do it. Well done!
