Great video! Never understood the auto/ locking hubs after Ford got rid of the manual t case. 🤦 All new ford's are push button.
I don’t see any reason to pull the vacuum line either. The only reason you might is if you thought you might tear up the line. The last thing you’d want is is water intrusion in that system. There are a few things that are pretty expensive to replace. That mod looks very cool and probably more reliable. Great job!! I likee.

Im assuming you can unlock the hubs and put in 4 lo for lower gearing and without 4wd binding? Im considering this mod so i can use low range without 4wd binding the tight switch backs in rocky mountains bind the hell out of 4wd system and wear tires.

They are either locked or free. There is no auto with these.

Was at ford pickup my f150 phaser chains, they got a Lighting in and the dude didn’t buy it.. deployed. So they put down the price PLUS dealer added $25k over sticker! $100,000!!! Got pictures to prove it Hell they had 250 4x4 loaded with heavy tow and 7.3 Godzilla for 69k!

I know this sounds stupid but I really dont know, do I need to lock my hubs in both 4 high and 4 low with the super duty? If you shift it to 4x4 and dont lock the hubs, you arent really doing shit right?
No all modern diesels have vacuum lines. That way you can just turn the knob and it engages in four-wheel-drive. If for some reason you turn, the knob and four-wheel-drive doesn’t work that is what the hubs are for you would then get out and turn the hubs to lock it in four-wheel-drive, and then you would have four-wheel-drive. So basically, they are a back up in case the vacuum lines break and it doesn’t automatically do it for you. Hope that helps brother.🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
This is what we replaced the factory hubs with back when I worked at a ford dealership in 04-05. Still havent improved I see.
Cheapest option always wins! I do wonder about water on these though. The oem had a seal and a rubber gasket. This only has a seal….🇺🇸🦅🇺🇸
@@COLTSWAY we never had any come back after doing the hub swap up here in Michigan, but I think you nailed it when you said they had to be turned every so often to preventing them from seizing up. Good content!
