Young people also have to realize that rual farm / houses like this were actually out in the middle of nowhere back then. It was common for people to just dump stuff and collect stuff over decades on their properties. They didn't have regular garbage pick up or recycling coming around. If you could burn it you would or just dump it in a pile and let it rot on one's property. I see many old abandoned homes like this. I actually have an old 1920s refrigerator and old bottles and gas cans on my property. Makes it fun to dig and get out your metal detectors. A different time from now indeed 😂
These old farms have a long history, and one thing you might find interesting - so much of these things are considered "trash" to most, but treasures to others! Some of the medicine bottles sell at flea markets for $12 -$15. Unbelievable, right?
As a fellow older Canadian I can assure you many people live in cabins to have peace and quiet. Thankfully in Canada we have so much land we can. Not always alcoholics not forced by families but usually someone with cptsd will live like this till death. I myself have cptsd and lived no problem in a cabin for over 10 yrs it is amazing. And yes most collect so they can reuse parts as you do not have delivery for things out in the country lol So sad young Canadians have no clue
Had similar thoughts. This is a typical type house in Alaska. They use what they can find and plywood walls, that semi finished look serves their purposes. I think this man (or someone before him) had a full and even happy life. The pool, the guesthouse, the outbuildings. All pretty decent in their time.
Yep it is. My family abandoned me in my darkest time. Every single one of them. Glad I found recovery. It was a very sad time. Support of total strangers and not one loved-one. What a mind duck for sure. I can relate with what Gerry was going through. Today, living sober, is very different for me, but unfortunately, Gerry did not come back from it. Most do not come back. Facts.
I get the vibe that this was a man's place of solitude, tinkering on old rigs and reading before the fire. Until some jerks came thru and ransacked it, throwing his books about and outside, my guess. The kitchen was once cute with items he used often pegged on the walls. The 2 lone wine glasses and 2 silver chalices make me think he had a loved one lost. That he read a lot says he probably liked his being alone. Had a sense of humor and was a gearhead, hence the auto part nailed on the wall but whimsical mirrors nailed below show another side. Nevertheless, we shall never know the total picture. May he rest easy now.

Hi Noah,,Thankyou for sharing this sad story, but amazing video,so sad to see homes like this, where they all have a story to tell, but can still see that once,it was a beautiful place.👍
It could have been the family hunting, vacation cabin. Unfinished, it was likely not meant to be a permanent residence. Poor guy, I can't imagine the lonely life he led, RIP.
14:30 wall paper is from the 1950's as my aunt had the same in her house. She spoke how she had loved that same design, & had ordered it. To this day, she still has that in her bathroom.
those weren't cheques sitting on the wood stove, they were hand written receipts given to him for something he bought. I'd almost bet he was making some extra money collecting scrap to go to the scrap yard. He definitely wasn't well judging by all the Ensure bottles and cartons. The "axe" is a splitting maul for splitting firewood. Odd place to have it but make a pretty good door stop!
Hi Noah, A dwelling may deteriorate when its inhabitant is incapable of leading a customary lifestyle due to medical complications and chronic alcohol consumption.
What a sad story but WOW you do a fabulous job taking us through it. I can't say you missed anything!! So awesome. And yes, at the end of the day, that's all our lives end up as. Someone to clean up after we're gone to our eternal home, or not at all, in this case. His life seems to have ended in a very lonely and isolated state. That's what happens when you are an alcoholic. I’m not sure I’d want a big pool on my alcoholic family members property. It seems like a dangerous thing to have there. And was it maintained and cared for? Sure a nice big pool. And the cabin must have been quite nice on its day. I hope Gary found some happiness there.
A lot of alcoholics aren’t stumbling drunks. My dad was an alcoholic and most of the time. If you didn’t know him, you’d have no idea he’d been drinking all day. He was very clean and well dressed, kept an extremely clean home (he did have a tendency to hoard but he kept it tidy or convinced his many brothers and sisters to store it for him as financially he was never stable and moved around a lot. He never seemed to be able or willing to live alone. He had a good job he had till he died. His alcoholism killed him ultimately. Heart issues. But still. Just saying. He could drink from sun up to sun down and only sometimes at the end of the day did he actually seem drunk. He deliberately hid it, would keep beer case cartons and empty wine/liquor bottled hidden in closets, he’d take them to the dumpster at night. He drank openly socially, but still hid a lot of his alone drinking. It’s weird despite making really good money, it was like he was never fully able to adult. He’d go without basic furniture till someone just gave him stuff, just little things like that that were weird.
@@monkeyz240 oh I’m very familiar with functioning alcoholics. I have a family of them. They do hide it well-or believe that they do. They hold jobs, and live normal lives. Some just have a high tolerance-or have built up a tolerance for it. My grandma kept her beer in her bedroom. And come to think of it, never returned her empties!
@@sassysue6472 yup. I was married to an alcoholic for a short time also, he hid empty bottles behind the oil tank outside for the furnace. I can tell you for a fact people get consumed in alcohol and drugs because they feel there is no hope. I drank for years and just wanted to die. This planet is just a big stage with a bunch of actors. I don't drink anymore, thank God, I just smoke weed. 😂
Noah go to explorer but a very sad explorer at the same time. Living a hermit lifestyle is rough you have no one to talk to or to help you with repairs. Looks like towards the end there the house was starting in all the outbuildings were starting to go probably didn't have the money or was getting too old to be climbing on roofs so we just let it go. He knew the end was near because as soon as that house fell apart he had no place just left so that's why he probably offed himself. What's with the dog barking you say you're out in the middle of nowhere you shouldn't hear a dog barking in the middle of nowhere there must be another house someplace around there.
Trudeau kicked them to the streets for public safety , having a home is illegal for poor , only the rich or immigrants are allowed to have a home now !
At 9:00 when you say look at this axe after you say that there is someone that speaks right after you do saying a name or something check it out. Mybad it’s actually when you say who just has this in there living room
Noah.Nowhere - Have you checked documents on file in the Town Hall Office to determine the property owner? You provide an interesting basis for a TV series on WHO OWNS THIS?
What I suspect is there was "someone" who lived here - no immediate phone seen in this video - may be indicative of a non-verbal special needs individual who floated from one day to another until he ended his life - but KEY QUESTION is where did the body get buried?
I seen people consuming them when they don't eat properly. Drink ensure instead of eating real food. And I could certainly picture Gerry popping a couple into him, and I believe someone said signs of cancer - so he'd likely resorted to those nearing the end of his sad life. Probably couldn't drink alcohol anymore at that point either. What a sad way to go.
Nineteen Seventy Something (not 71, likely 74 or 75) SKI DO is the Brand, the model was probably an Olympic. LIkely thats a 1975 Ski-Do Olympic. Arctic Cat and Polaris were huge then too.
Opening up an old fridge and breathing in the foul air from within it is one of the quickest ways to get yourself so sick you have to go to the hospital.
I hear a dog in the background. Hope it's not chained up or stuck outside in that weather. You wouldn't think there would be anybody living around there. That pool was huge for such a strange property. I mean is 1 person really going to use that big pool?
I usually enjoy the comment section but not this time, there's too many virtue signalling parrots in here. Thanks for the tour Noah and how old was Gary? Also, I notice what appears to be two beers in the fridge, one in the door, one on the shelf 21:15. If I was alcoholic I would've finished them both first, before turning out my lights.
I think people don't realize how much damage animals can do once they get inside. Raccoons will throw things around, rummaging for food, so while I'm sure people also have been inside, a lot of it can be just animals rummaging.

😒I can feel sadness & despair emanating from the Rooms of the "Main" Cabin.
Cigarettes And Alcohol go together
You young guys have got to learn how to look around a little slower so we can see without getting dizzy
If you want slower than I went then simply pause the video
._.
At 9:00 when you say look at this axe after you say that there is someone that speaks right after you do saying a name or something check it out. Mybad it’s actually when you say who just has this in there living room
Sup from Kentucky❤
That was a sad one for sure 😢
Many buildings how long he live here? Was it some kind of getaway for others in its time or did he build everything on the property?
Really cool but gross house, Noah! I hope you were wearing a respirator when you explored the nasty basement!
You can get new stuff hard to move out the old stuff I have seen him 3 times on this video he [s with you now
Noah.Nowhere - Have you checked documents on file in the Town Hall Office to determine the property owner? You provide an interesting basis for a TV series on WHO OWNS THIS?
So we know October 2018 is when supposedly someone was occupying the cabin?
What I suspect is there was "someone" who lived here - no immediate phone seen in this video - may be indicative of a non-verbal special needs individual who floated from one day to another until he ended his life - but KEY QUESTION is where did the body get buried?
AWESOME NOAH - AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME - DO DID A GREAT JOB WITH THIS VIDEO BLOG!
Boost and ensures are not restricted to those unwell, we take also to boost our health, skin etc.
Never abandon someone who needs help
Opening up an old fridge and breathing in the foul air from within it is one of the quickest ways to get yourself so sick you have to go to the hospital.
I learned the same lesson you did a long time ago. You NEVER, under any circumstances open the refrigerator.
Did he commit suicide in that house? Do you know?
Why would you want to know
Did anyone else hear someone else talking when Noah is talking about the ax?
round 19:04 heard are ya sure?
Yeah real creepy I listened to that part a bunch of times good catch
whats the music in the opening? 😮
Ful blue foil&flock wallpaper!
Cool but sad it was left to decay
I hear a dog in the background. Hope it's not chained up or stuck outside in that weather. You wouldn't think there would be anybody living around there. That pool was huge for such a strange property. I mean is 1 person really going to use that big pool?
Dude! You gotta open some doors and drawers, have a look see, you’re not hurting anything and people want to see
You are literally the only person to complain 🤷🏻♂️
It looks like it was a family's camp. He traveled and was a diver most likely.
nice
Was Noah by chance a military veteran
I always wonder why family members didn't take the property over rather thn letting it fall down like this.
I’ve seen this place before, and it was not in this shape Somebody’s ransacked it
Poor gerry
I'd have to drink to live like that.
I'm sorry gary❤
I usually enjoy the comment section but not this time, there's too many virtue signalling parrots in here.
Thanks for the tour Noah and how old was Gary?
Also, I notice what appears to be two beers in the fridge, one in the door, one on the shelf 21:15.
If I was alcoholic I would've finished them both first, before turning out my lights.
Okay, pothead. Time to get off the internets. People saying substance abuse is tragic and having empathy for the man is not virtue signalling.
I think people don't realize how much damage animals can do once they get inside. Raccoons will throw things around, rummaging for food, so while I'm sure people also have been inside, a lot of it can be just animals rummaging.
