Brilliant video. Thank you Nadine and Dr Patel. He not only answered all the questions I had but answered those I should have thought of but hadn't. Great information.
Saw the title & wasn't going to bother watching because it's not something that I've ever been interested in or ever considered, but... WOW!!! I have learnt so much. What a great, comprehensive chat with a lovely man. I'm approaching 50 and as the chat went on I was seriously tempted... until Nadine asked the cost. I'm gobsmacked. Just gonna have to live with my serum & creams.
Nadine, thank you for asking the questions we all want to ask, and asking the questions I’d never think to ask. It’s empowering knowing that fillers have different weights or compositions. I had no idea that anyone other than a doctor or nurse was able to give the injections or get their hands on the product. It’s good to know but it’s also scary to know. Great interview.
Another SUPER IMPORTANT reason for going to a medically qualified person for injectables is the fact that there are facial nerves and blood vessels you DO NOT want touched by a needle tip!! Only medical professionals have the training to know where these are in the face structure!!!! This is a fabulous video, thank you Nadine.
A beauty salon in my local town has just advertised to train beauty therapists in Botox and fillers, it’s quite scary as I imagine their target audience is young girls who aren’t aware of risks and less likely to be able to ask the right questions. I see a nurse in the next village along and she is great and prices good too as she works from home. To me a needle in the body should only be done by a medically trained person. Thanks for the useful info.

I genuinely feel your pain about crepeyness around the eyes and I e been told Fraxel is key - two or three treatments. I tried Tixel and it did nothing and I know someone who tried Plexr twice and to no effect st all both with a lot of down time too. So Fraxel is next on my hit list. If I find something you can guarantee I’ll share it with you all 😘
@@NadineBaggott I was recommended platelet rich placement where they extract your blood separate the plasma and then injected into the tier ducks as that can get in a lot closer and it's only a natural treatment as in it's not filler as such trying to find a company here or specialist here that does it I know they do a lot of it in the states and at the moment it appears it's only really used for sporting injuries I have seen the results with the pen and that looks too scary plus I have heard it isn't all that beneficial or long-term at all just a lot of swelling initially I am having a one-on-one tutorial with a make-up artist to try to learn tricks and techniques to stop the makeup making it look worse

My husband won't let me do filler. Unless I could hide it from him, which I think that's risky, something can go wrong! I also would feel awfully guilty! Can lasers or microneedling maybe even continuous light chemical peels help over time to build collagen and create more volume a bit more naturally? I don't have alot of play with downtime, and am a fitness instructor, so very active. I get botox, took some convincing just to get my husband to accept that! Botox doesn't last more than 2 months on me. The guess is the excessive exercise, metabolism. Not sure that filler would even be worth it for me, because I metabolize faster than the norm😕. Any advice, maybe, please?😊

I only disagree about seeing a dentist or a nurse for fillers and botox. You rarely see a nurse or a dentist at doctors conferences, doing workshops and studying beauty as whole, studying like doctors do. Different fields, with different training. Anyone can learn how to inject, but improving someone’s features, changing the proportions for the better, that is an art. Would you go to a dermatologist for a root canal? Also, a dentist/nurse can’t prescribe you tretinoin or check your moles. What’s the point of getting fillers if you’re not going to take care of your skin texture and its health as well?! Go to a GOOD dermatologist and get everything sorted out.
All I would say is - my dentist has studied the whole facial structure as part of his training ....every muscle, every blood vessel- he may not be an expert on my appendix but he knows how my face and its structure works far better than my GP. I would trust a dentist unequivocally
Maybe an orthodontist because they are kind of specializing in cosmetic appearance. I'm thinking if I got braces and pull my teeth and the right place my face would be Fuller around the chin and so forth. You're right though I often think a sculptor would be the best person to inject something in someone's face
@@sable7114 I do think orthodontists can do an amazing work when it comes to the mouth area and chin. But I'm not talking about fillers. Im talking about braces and orthodontic type of surgeries. Of course there are talented dentists out there and it's an important profession. However, when it comes to fillers, there's a lot more math to it than people realize. I see beauty as a whole, like taking care of the skin is just as important as having the right proportions. Also hair. A good dermatologist will take note of everything. Also, here in brazil dentists arent even allowed to attend medical conferences and workshops. And I never see them talking about the details and everything that goes into injecting and sculpting a face. They usually study just enough to learn how to inject, but their perception and understanding of beauty is not as sharp most of the time.
@@Beauty_bydeborah oh my gosh in Brazil dentist don't go to conferences or workshops or take continuing education? That's scary. I hope that the orthodontist do. When you look at it that way, I agree that perhaps Denton should not be included amongst the Physicians and nurses and I think instead of nurses maybe he meant nurse practitioners? Nadine is right, fillers are kind of scary to me because all I noticed are the bad ones and the assumption is that you always know when someone has done something because they don't look like themselves. However it could be that many people have had something done but it's so saddle and so natural we just don't know unless they share the secret. That's how it should look and you have to be a very skilled whatever to do that. Surgeons aren't always that skilled either. In the case of a non emergency surgery, why did I get that Jagged crooked line that's about 12in in Long? That was a skilled surgeon n a male, no offense, but my feeling is that a female surgeon or someone who was taught how to cut through skin would have done it much more neatly. Though, I probably would have ended up with some infection.
