Really enjoyed watching this little series of videos. If those walls could talk as they say. You're very fortunate to have all those old pictures. The cabin looks great for it's age. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos and sharing them. 🤝🏻
Nice, Kat. I imagine walking the same trails and hitting the same spots helps make you feel a bit more connected to the men that put that all together. Thanks for putting this together and sharing!
You are so right Jonny, my dad and other relatives traveled those paths. I apologize for not replying sooner. For some reason TH-cam has held some comments back. Frustrating! Take good care, and God Bless! 🙏🏼 Thank you for stopping by!
So glad to see the camp is being taken care of . I could live there . Such beauty and peace and quiet . I know there have been some great times in that cabin . Thank you for bringing us along and sharing !!!👍🏻🇺🇸☕️
Good Morning Del ☕️ Oh yes, I always enjoyed visiting there when I was growing up. Many great memories. Thank you for watching and have a blessed week!
The ole timers couldn’t have built in a more beautiful place. I’ve watched the the videos of the old timers in and around the cabin and more than once I’ve got tears rolling down my face thinking of the friendships and how most if not all of them are gone now. Thank you for sharing such precious, peaceful memories.
Thank you so much for watching this series of the hunting camp. I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the videos. Yes, all of the men are now gone, and making these videos was kind of bitter sweet, but I’m so thankful that my uncle took all these pictures all those years ago. It gives me a glimpse as to what it was like there at the hunting camp back then, and it was nice to see the pictures of my father, grandfather, and uncle (as well as the other family members whom I never knew), in one of their most favorite places. Thank you again.
So beautiful Kat ! 😍 and so thankful you were able to make it back there to see it still looking so well maintained Sister ! I know that floods the heart with a warmth that can’t be described only felt within. ❤️🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻
Amen! While standing there looking at that camp, I could picture the men in those photos being there. A place that was once so full of life. I have a picture of my dad at that dam and along the stream, cooking up his meal. It was once a very special place for them. Thanks for stopping by! Love ya sister ♥️🙏🏼♥️
Oh my goodness!! How wonderful that it still stands and it’s not developed ♥️ The walk there is so beautiful and peaceful. I love the brook and stream. Such a blessing ♥️ Thank you for sharing🤗. Started my day with The Word and then your peaceful video ♥️🤗 Love and hugs🩷🤗
Gosh how wonderful is that place Kat. They did a good job!!! Loved the peace, tranquility and isolation of the cabin. And a gorgeous stream and spring too. Stunning place! Hope you're doing well 👍👍
What a beautiful place. The stories that were told or shared behind them walls would be amazing to hear in front of a crackling fire. Autumn, so colorful.
Thank you Daniel, it’s so peaceful there and I hope it will always be that way. I’m sure they had some stories to tell, but none they would have shared with me I’m sure (being a little girl in the 1960’s). They used to keep a journal on the table, and whoever went up there to visit (with family or themselves), would write about their visit there, so others could read it. Sadly someone broke in many years ago, and stole that journal. I’m thankful to have these old pictures that my uncle took all those years ago, and I’m happy to share them with others who appreciate it. I appreciate you watching. Have a great week!
@@KatInTheNorth Wow, why would anyone want that journal, means nothing to them if they not family, it's so sad to hear about something like that. Yes its a good thing you still have pictures and memories. You and Don have yourselves a good week as well.
Thanks! Yes, in the winter back in the 40’s, 50’s, & 60’s, the men would park at the beginning of the old road and snowshoe in. In the late 1960’s I remember dad, myself and mom, riding in on a snowmobile. I was little and was between them on the seat! Do you remember us going in there to visit Grampa and his brother one Fall? I drove us in at night and we brought them gingerbread. We stayed awhile and then came home. You might have been too young to remember.
Good morning Kat. I apologize for not stopping by in awhile. I'm trying to catch up now lol. Wow it's so peaceful and beautiful there! Thank you for sharing this. Wishing you and Don a wonderful day and week ❤
Good Morning, thank you. It’s totally understandable and I can’t catch up on things like I used to. I do stop by and visit channels from time to time. It’s most important for you to take care of yourself and your health. You are in my prayers and I hope you get some much needed relief. Lymes Disease is terrible ♥️🙏🏼♥️
That's my kind of place, Kat! I've wanted to live in something like that since I was a child. Some of the men who built the camp were probably WW2 vets, and this was their place to de-stress. My grandfather built a camp on a lake after returning from the Pacific. The camp is no longer in your family? Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Rick, some were WWII vets and some WWl vets. You are exactly right, they went up there to get away from it all. A place to de-stress. I’m so glad they had a place like this where they could all get together. This place meant so much to my father. I loved visiting there when I was a kid. Now that all the original members of this camp have passed, it’s maintained and kept by whoever the new members are. I don’t know much about it now, but some land near it has the “for sale” signs up. I appreciate you stopping by!
Wow.. that is really cool.. looks like someone has been cutting the grass and taking care of the place. I'd love to own something like this. Thanks for the video sister. Hope you've been well
Thanks brother! It was very nice to see that it is being taken care of. When my father was living, he used to bring up his lawn mower, mow the grass, and feed the birds. I really appreciate you stopping by! I’m doing okay for an old lady lol.
Thanks so much brother, that place holds a lot of memories for a lot of people. I hope you are doing well and I appreciate you stopping by. Will you be hunting this year?
@@Dominic.Minischetti okay! I thought you might be out there. I hope you’ll see something in range. We don’t have the hogs here, but we do have plenty of deer. Good luck to you!
Very nice camp Kat where about in Maine is your camp located . I am pleased to see it is kept up. you know once you are involved in a deer (hunting camp) with great friends the hunting is secondary
Thank you Howard. This camp is in Southern Maine, just over the mountain from us. I don’t know who owns the camp now, but it’s probably owned by whoever the club members are. It’s good to see it is still there after all these years. I appreciate you stopping by!
Thanks Karl, no apologies needed. After all these club (family) members passed away, new club members took it over. So, I don’t know who owns it now. Thanks for stopping by!
Such a pretty place in the woods. Reminds me of home! Glad to see it is still standing.😊 Spring water used to be so good. It has now been condemned the pipe we used to get it from out of the mountain. Tfs and God bless.😊🙏🧡🍂
