I’m there now! I’m about 15 miles northwest of Kokadjo. I’ve been staying at my ex-bro-in-law’s hunting cabin, a refugee from the Covid mayhem and draconian laws in NYC. At the moment, I’m in Millinocket to pick up some supplies.
I have been there, now, thanks to your superb videography. Such a beautiful place. I was there on the roof with you and just as awestruck. Thanks for starting my day in such a pleasant way.
You and Gracie remind a 70 year old of all the adventures she had right up to her large teens before movi g to the UK for ever. Well done Cory, may God keep you well.!
I will repeat a comment that I made a month ago. Your volunteer work is a testament to us all. Even though I do not live in Maine, I hope that your example sparks other restorations throughout the country. As you know, I related your work to Dick Proenneke’s cabin experience. You have left a lasting mark for probably a few decades if Maine keeps the cabins up. You are a Pioneer young man. And I, for one, am very proud and happy to see you undertake this huge project. If I had done what you did, I imagine my first thought would be…..Yeah….wow….Gracie and I accomplished a lot”. The my second thought, and I think this is in your spirit Cory, would be….where else am I needed. We need more good people like you out there setting an example. I am not a religious man, but I appreciate that your beliefs, and attention to scripture has embolden you, and helped. What ever works is good. Thank you for the video.
Liam, thank you for the comment, I appreciate you watching, I have to clarify two things here, first I was hired for these projects and I was paid so it wasn’t volunteer work in that regard, second I’m not religious either, I’m just a sinner saved by grace, thank you sir
My father grew up in these woods. It's nice to the old forest service cabins restored. Granpa was the bookkeeper/paymaster for Tom Pinkham, a big lumber company. He lived right out there, so to pay the men and tally the board footage.
Considering the type of elements that the cabin has to endure while sitting idle for many months, it is amazing it has survived at all. Nice rehabilitation work... it looks nice and should serve the public for many decades to come.
UThat swath of downed and spiked trees reminded me of 3 ares in Maryland and Virginia years ago that had small tornadoes run through the areas. Straight past homes, just took out the trees, the damage is still visible. Pure country.
Wow Cory, another nice job on a beautiful old cabin! It sure was nice to have friends up to help and visit. God sure has given you such talent with building and care about what happens to these cabins. Give Miss Gracie a hug from Wisconsin! Praying for you both.
Fond memories of spending time in deer camp cabins like this when I was a child.. an awesome project and great results.. it's ready for another 100 years, or until the Lord comes. "Yea, even so, come quickly Lord Jesus."
What a beautiful place!!!. You are truly amazing!!. I love seeing old places restored, and not just burned, or left to rot!!!...I wish I lived closer, I'd help you!!!. Thank you,....your a cabin saver!!!.
I’m watching this 01/01/24 it was good to finally see someone using a sling blade to chop down grass and weeds. I told someone about one several months ago they had no idea what I was talking about. Keep up the good work. And happy new year.
And yet another masterpiece! One little scenario that captured my heart. Gracie had a piece of moose antler in her mouth which she has been playing with occasionally, LOL. When the brown Lab came closer to her she just took that in her mouth and moved away kinda saying, Nuh Uh, this mine. Beautiful work which reminded me of the verse: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! Was very nice to see friends working together in unity. The powerful word of God that I experienced. "For when I am weak, then am I strong- God has been so good to me. This is a testimony itself. God bless you Corey and may His Holy presence be with you and Gracie always.
No way, so glad I stumbled on your channel and then I see your PO Box is right in Skowhegan which is 40 minutes from where I live on my farm in Corinna. Small world here in Maine. Can't wait to see more videos and follow along!

Beautiful country. I wish you would put a life jacket on your dog when you are traveling in your boat. I notice you were wearing one. Great job on cabin
Iv really enjoyed watching you raise Re stump and revamp the old log cabin , it fantastic , will be great to see you build further around the camp there sheds and extra sleeping quarters excellent , keeps idle hands busy , I’m a senior in my 60s and enjoy the nature and using hands to help benefit family and friends , great job
WELL DONE Corey! If I had a cabin to repair, I would luv to have someone young and able as you are, for you have proven that you do good work. I enjoy watching how you tackle a job = well-organized. Stay strong through this time of; rough waters (you know what I mean)...you will find your place and you will be happy. What goes from within to without...comes back like a boomerang. Beautiful renovation and a wonderful cabin to save. GOOD JOB for sure you are a very talented man and I love your dog is so sweet and always watches his daddy. GREAT video and thank you for sharing. It reminds me of the days of camping and love the woods and the water. Dad always took us to many places in Washington State....Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens (before she blew her lid off and became an active volcano) lol. God Bless you.
I love all the old cabins, I’d love one but I’m in the wrong country. Tell me do the cabins get rented out once you’ve restored them. It’d be nice to imagine them being used again. 🌷👍😊
Very nice video. I grew up in Claremont NH, and there was very little flat land. Everything but the river bottom country was either up or down. Only been up to Maine (or down east...) a couple of times, and then only the south coast. Bath, and such. Always figured Maine would have mountains, I'm amazed at how flat it looked. Not bad, mind you.... Thanks for the video. I left New England and went out west in the early eighties, miss it something terrible.
Great work, met you at the ice fishing seminar, you wouldn't tell me where you hunt, I was just making small talk, thanks for your hard work preserving our North Maine Woods
Yes, you interrogated me for over an hour trying to get information about where I hunt, I'm pretty sure you work for the FBI or CIA...lol Great meeting you Mike!
I admire what your doing, 25 years ago I shot a 162 MASTC tracking in Steep Falls, and met Larry Benoit and the boys at the banquet, I would love to continue the tracking game but severe arthritis conditions have slowed me down so now I pre scout buck bedding and try to set up as close as possible, keep your tracking videos coming cause it's brings back memories
