Thanks Hector!
@ 04:55 was gritting my teeth when I saw those pine cones!
They can definitely be dangerous little things...
Where exactly is the “luge”? And the side hill you were speaking of, is that Penny pines?
The Luge is called Wooded Hill. It starts at the top of the fire road that takes you to Los Gatos. If you search for The Luge in that area on Strava, you'll find it.
And yes, the side hill is Penny Pines.
@@MTBTrailReview can you share your strava account? I’d like to see it.
Sure. Here's my Strava from this ride. I started it late, but it's only missing the first climb. All of the fun stuff is on there.

I've been meaning to go up there. I like riding early though, and it's still in the 30-40s in the AM. 😔
Yeah, it's a chilly start. The long climb at the beginning warms you up pretty quickly, though.
this is one of the best exposes on this place. It looks SOO good. Just the kind of riding I'd love to do to get a real taste of southern desert trails. I'm in SD from time to time (From Canada), curious, what time of year is this? Ideally I'd like to go when there is lot's of greenery, no snow or mud. Would Mid May be too early?
Thanks! This was filmed just over a week ago. April and May is usually good if you want to get the greenery. There's a chance you'll find some mud, but it's only in a few of the lower lying places.
its hi desert 5000+ ft elevation. may would be a good time. snow is gone(mostly)now. super fun trails. gatos ravine, chico ravine, noble canyon, penny pines. ALL good rides. Noble canyon is FUN!!! about 10- 15 miles of good downhill. shuttle it.
@@philboncher7191 yeah, Noble looks like the one. Penny pines is on TF? can't seem to find it..
@@MTBTrailReview oh wow, I would have thought this was mid June... very cool stuff.
I like how you couldn't say enough about your favorite single track...but didn't say what it was. Without looking for proper name penny pines/upper nobles.
That section is Upper Noble.
Mt. Laguna where?
Here' where we start: www.google.com/maps/place/Sunset+Trailhead/@32.8583013,-116.4699751,15z/data=!4m14!1m7!3m6!1s0x80d978d940b83123:0xbfbb26f61381df87!2sSunset+Trailhead!8m2!3d32.8609059!4d-116.4620894!16s%2Fg%2F11cjkw79lz!3m5!1s0x80d978d940b83123:0xbfbb26f61381df87!8m2!3d32.8609059!4d-116.4620894!16s%2Fg%2F11cjkw79lz
From there we do a loop around the meadow and ride Wooded Hill, Los Gatos, and Upper Noble.
