I sat and listened to some music from Laleh's earlier albums today on spotify and decided to check out whether there was any reaction videos to her from people outside of Sweden, and was happy to see one of my favorite reactions havings recently dropped this reaction. This is from the first and self-titled album and this is the song that introduced her to us here in Sweden. She seems to tend to have half of her songs in Swedish and half in english in her albums. You should do Mysteries from her album Me and Simon. Colors from the album with the same name is great. I need to check out more of her newer stuff. Her newest single is at the time of writing this is insanely good, but it's in Swedish and called vargtimme. Also, her most famous song is probably Some Die Young, which is good, but far from her best in my opinion.
I really need to play some Laleh around my daughter, who is just 2 years old at the moment, but I will try let her experience a lot of different good music growing up, though if she gets to choose it's The Frozen Soundtrack that get played mostly at this point in time.
Thank you for your pleasant reaction. Laleh (meaning tulip in Farsi) is incredibly creative and has lived extraordinarily. She was born in Iran and had a difficult childhood, moving from country to country. Her family lived in hiding in Iran, and after they arrived in Sweden, Laleh reportedly learned Swedish in just eleven days. Tragically, her father passed away in Sweden in 1994 while trying to rescue a woman who had fallen from her canoe into the water. Despite his efforts, he drowned in the accident. Laleh's mother later died of cancer in Sweden in 2014, leaving Laleh alone in her family. So, Laleh has experienced the words in this song. She has also produced many other songs.
And her older brother died young. "Some die young".
