    Thanks so much for posting this. Those folks at whirlpool are geniuses, aren't they? Let's make the pump impossible to find, and then don't mention it anywhere in the manual. Brilliant!

    I’m a small, 53 yr old woman, with a tiny laundry room that’s only 6” wider than the washer and dryer. However, I was able to somehow pull out the washer, climb around the back, and get this done with ease! The trickiest thing was finding the right widget-bit for the drill, in amongst my husband’s tools! I didn’t tell him I was going to do this, or he’d have had a fit, lol! But it’s done, and I’m back in business! Thank you SO much for this!

    Thank you thank you! I called a repair man in January, four months ago, and it was $160 house call to clean the drain. He didn’t find much, but I was happy to have a working washing machine again. This morning I started a small load and am getting this error again! Instead of paying another $160 I am going to check it myself. I’m a single mom and don’t bring home that much. I also have a dryer belt going out and he said it would be $250+tax. I found a maintenance kit for $25 on Amazon and am going to change out the belt and rollers myself. My blower motor went out on my Toyota sienna and I’ve only had it for 3 months (it’s used) and a friend showed me how to change it out. Saved me hundreds of dollars!! I’m so thankful for videos like this and I am subscribing!! ❤

    Thank you for posting how-to and where to locate the filter. I saw a video of a different model on TIK TOK and know I need to do mine. I just didn't know where to look. A few repair people suggested to me that I actually empty that filter every 6 weeks for optimum performance and to help extend the life of the motor in the washer. 4 even 6 weeks sounds like overkill. I think you can get the right cadence by seeing how clogged you are after 3 mos then adjust accordingly. This matters more or less depending on how much maneuvering room you have - if you have easy access and the time sure 6 weeks go for it.

My farm friend told me about the filters a day ago, as she had similar issues a couple of years ago. She showed me on her washing machine, which, how convenient for her, happens to be in a nice spot on the front. Good to note my screen/trap was so stuck in there I had to really pull on it to the point where the hand nut seperated from it and then I had to work that tray loose. Thank you, this worked like a charm and I was able to fix my washer. I wanted to add a couple things for folks who may be generally unacquainted with their washer, like I was before trying this.
    -First, the removal of the drain hose is sort of glossed over here, but you can take it off using pliers to cinch the spring together, slide the spring off, and then easily pull the hose off by hand.
    -Second, my washer had a LOT more water in it than is shown here, even though I'd shop-vac'd the standing water out of the machine before trying this. I recommend getting a VERY big pan, and also a shop vac in there if you can fit it, as you are unscrewing the filter cap, to avoid a minor flood.
    Thanks again!

    First, thanks for the video. It was easy to follow and fixed my problem. Now to explain my problem in a bit of detail. My problem was that I had the F9 E1 error and it would not reset after turning off the power and waiting many minutes. When I plugged it back in, the Door locked light was on and I was not able to drain or select any other cycles. I had a load of clothes sitting in water and a 10 day wait for a service technician. After reading the comments about how clogged everyone's filters were, I thought that maybe the error would reset after cleaning the filter, especially since my machine is many years old and I have never cleaned the filter. So, following your video, I cleaned the filter. It was not too dirty, actually. I then put it all back together and the error reset itself when I plugged it back in. Thanks again for making and posting the video.

    I've been fighting the E1F9 error for a while now and TBH wasn't too excited about delving into appliance repair but the back came off easy enough and I was able to twist off the filter with only the mildest of single sylable profanity. I was hoping to find it jammed with lost Kruegerands or maybe a couple of wayward $50s but found only a half dozen bobby pins (who still uses bobby pins?), a penny ground down to the size of a dime, and some globs of unidentifiable lint. There really wasn't much in there but apparently it was enough to cause problems as I ran a cycle and it made it all the way through without an error code. Whatever you do unplug it before you start and you should be fine.

    Had the same error code but was surprised my filter was clean and did some further checking. Found that the drain hose was clogged. This was located where the plastic holding bracket that bends the hose towards the tub. I had removed the bracket and tried to straighten the hose and was amazed that it broke off some large chunks of liquid detergent buildup inside the hose. I bought a new hose and re-routed the hose without using the same holding bracket. When I connected the hose to the washer I made sure the hose was straight with a slight angle downwards toward the drain tub. The end of the hose was bent 45 to 90 deg angle downward along with zip ties to keep everything in place. This will prevent any future clogs/buildup of detergent water just sitting in the hose. Working perfect.

    • @marttho53
      @marttho53  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Your experience is a great example of why the F9 E1 error code shows up. The error code is a long drain error, meaning it's taking too long for the washer to drain the water. If after 6 minutes of trying to drain the water out of the machine the water level pressure switch does not reset, the ACU ( main control board ) will shut the cycle off and show the F9 E1 error on the user interface display. Under normal circumstances the washer should completely drain within 2 minutes. Thank you for posting your experience. It will help others who might discover the filter is not dirty, but something else was delaying the tub from draining.

      @@marttho53 There were five nickels, four pennies, a fair amount of long hair, and some unspecified goo in the filter. Not too bad considering we've had the washer for three years now.
