Andy Burnham really stepped up on this.
Agree. Never heard him so concise and articulate before or since this,, He was on his A game
By supporting "The Sun"?
The irony of the mayor of manchester standing up for Liverpool. But fair play to him, he really went for it. It'd be interesting today to look back on this and see exactly how many of his reccomendations have been implimented? Particularly the ones that the government said they would impliment?
He didn't become mayor of Manchester until some time after this. He was an MP from Liverpool, and campaigned for years to help get the truth about Hillsborough
@@SpawnMeister666 Burnham openly supported "The Sun", and opposed holding an inquiry into Hillsborough when Labour was in office.
Andy Burnham has my ultimate respect. I shed tears when I listen to this speech. YNWA...
So glad he supports "The Sun".
He should be the Labour Leader and our next Prime Minister
If only :(
I'm United fan and Irish but that should never of happened 96 lives lost they treated it like a bin man picking up a wheely bin (just dump it) not right all
I wanted him to be Labour leader, instead of Jeremy corbyn
Now more so than ever
@@pocketstom I agree, but he's too bloody honest. And no politician showing an ounce of honesty has Ever been Prime Minister. I have often thought the only person to have entered the House of Commons with honest intentions was Guy Fawkes.
Great speech by Andy Burnham. Really struck to the core of the tragic matter.
Huge respect Andy.
Well done Andy, top man.
Wonderful speech. Well done. Make him PM.
Well said Andy
Great guy and heartfelt words that silenced the house. He should be pm not Boris.
Well done Andy
ANDY FOR PM
Several people need jailing for this.
@jmeove wtf
Will Bradbury cuz government are so ill in the head know one was charged
WHAT A DISGRACE WE NEED JUSTICE NOW
And a painful execution.>:(
MAN U FAN LOVE
Never happen, Justice is people taking responsibility, they wont give us that.
I love to see the house so grown up. No shouting and even Andy giving compliments to the dark side
well, today that's quite different
Great speech but, as a survivor who witnessed with my own eyes, why has it taken so long?
Fine words. Deep, meaningful, personal and well delivered. I notice the Dark Side did not applaud. Shame.
Margaret Aspinall is amazing.
Well said Andy Burnham, and heartfelt. Let's hope the Home Secretary does everything in her power to expedite criminal proceedings and put in place measures to ensure others never have to suffer for so long before justice and truth are finally served. Great speech .
The drunk fans should have been prosecuted.
This man should have been labour leader
Well said Andy . As a lifelong Evertonian this man has done the city proud
One of the great House of Commons moments ever in my view. Delivered in a Northern accent though so will never get the credit it deserves. Equal to anything delivered by ANY MP. Ever.
Brilliant Speech from Andy Burnham done with great compassion, and also thanks to the home secretary , for helping to get to the bottom of the lies and injustice ...Unfortunately if the is not total accountability and closing of escape hole for the lies of a early retirement this will happen again.. The should be no escape for the criminal act's by the individuals at the top of the Police force at the time and ambulance authorities who acted in a criminal cover up
Well said Andy Burnham, now let's get David Duckenfield and Graham Mackrell jailed where they belong ❤️ J4T96 ❤️ RIP ❤️ YNWA ❤️ xxxx
Also Kelvin McKenzie too. For allowing lies to be printed in his newspaper. For not checking the facts or his sources. For getting false quotes from SYP then printing that in The Sun as truth. #JusticeForThe96 #YNWA. 🇬🇧🇬🇧👌👌🙌🙌😢😢💔💔
Remember him being booed out of anfield when he made his promise..fair play to him he delivered on it..he has my respect and finally the 96 got their justice
He did
Was 96 at the time i wrote it and of the video
He was not booed out of Anfield, he was applauded at the end!
Sad thing is, 27 years have passed. Most of those responsible are either dead or will escape justice through ill health.
The right honourable Andy burnham
Amazing speech.
Retiring to avoid justice ,WTF. A bank robber can't !!!
If andy ran for prime minister I would vote Labour
A man of the people, for the people.
He supports "The Sun".
Good man Andy
Awe Inspiring speech. YNWA.
Amazing man
Is that why it took so long, waiting for retirement? it makes one wonder why Jimmy Savile was dead before exposed.
Should be Labour leader.
Should have been the Labour leader.
Bravo, Andy!
I live in South Yorkshire and the police are still terrible
Why isn't Andy Burnham labour leader 🌷
He should be
Because he wasn't "Revolutionary" enough for smug middle class suburban types....they wanted one of their own...and we sadly got it.
good man
What a man.
Respekt für die Geschichte und Wahrheit
Take note Starmer.... THIS is the man who should be PM
Just sorry Anne never saw what she knew was true.
The drunk fans had forged tickets.
30 years of torture and upset to find out what was obvious from the start no one person caused the problem it was a combination of factors now let the 96 RIP
police changing statements, with the approval from the top. still no jail time for the illegal activities of police.
Amazing tribute and speech for the 97. This man stands up for working people and should be the leader of the Labour Party then we might have a shrunken opposition. Also notice how only a handful (if that) of Tory politicians clap his speech for the 97. They have no respect
The drunk fans deserved no respect. Burnham supports "The Sun".
@@MarkHarrison733shut up
ironic i'm liking this on sky news ......
+Warren want respect to Andy though
+Warren want Yes, another mouthpiece of Murdoch's. I see Dermot got his fingers burned yesterday. There's another upload by Still Incorrigible, good channel for current affairs and politics.
J4T96, gone but never ever forgotten YNWA
Thatcher, and her cronies where complicit.
Why would Thatcher care about drunk Liverpool fans?
@@MarkHarrison733 what a first class moron
Step up my a*s. Still no compensation for the families.
My son was 1week old .. when this horrific tragedy happened.., his dad is a long life Liverpool supporter .. nothing was the ever the same again 😞
Nothing ever was, so many never went to matches again or where scarred for life, not just the 96. Justice will never be properly served, am sorry to say. YNWA J4T96
justice not
😮 Julia Gillard esk
The whole system is corrupt from the very top to the very bottom. Cleaning house ongoing
🙏❤️🌎🏴
similar to Tony Blair I think same can be said for Chris Bryant
The only real next PM
I was caught up in the effects of Hillsborough (my wife had a profound neurological condition). TONY BLAND ..... remember him? A debate began because of his condition that spread world-wide and lasted till 1994. The world came close to accepting euthanasia as a way of solving its problems. It is a fact that Hillsborough sparked off, through Tony, a scenario that resulted in thousands of deaths of elderly, disabled, etc., vulnerable people. Fortunately sanity prevailed ... and hopefully the early 90s "euthanasia frenzy" will never rear its head again.
He shouldve been leader instead of Corbyn
He refused to oppose welfare cuts in 2015.
The king of the north
The decision making that lead to this incident was poor but humans out of their depth and I have forgiveness and compassion for that.
The cover up and lies however we’re criminal and evil and what layered so much more trauma on the fans and families.
It’s for this they need punishing and accountability.
There was no "cover up".
The Liverpool fans caused all of the deaths.
Move on that's life
Burnham openly supported "The Sun", and opposed holding an inquiry into Hillsborough when Labour was in office.
move on
It seems Liverpool fans forget Heysel ever happened!!

Who cares
I do. And millions of other people
Nicked tings that was sun sed
Half a million people in Liverpool and whatever % of the 67million uk citizens that care about justice. This was a cover up that went to the highest levels of government. That's not okay. That will never be okay.
I care
I care
Oh wow there is 97 comments what a coincidence 😭…after he come to give hit speech on the anniversary that got to him he helped in getting justice for the 97 🤍❤️
