Just the best speech on Hillsborough. Burnham must become leader of the Labour Party. He is passionate and honest.

The people of Liverpool know better than any of us about the lies and cover ups. And the 96 who not only lost their lives but then had their good names slandered. My heart goes out to all those affected. I wish peace on the people of Liverpool and on the souls of the 96. God bless you all.

If only others of the political class could be like Andy Burnham MP yesterday,
Clear, concise, to the point, eloquent, and profound.

    Absolutely outstanding address.
I feel so much relief for the families. Finally they have the opportunity to allow their loved ones to rest knowing that there has been justice.
A fraudulently and inexcusably delayed justice, but I hope that they may now be able to find peace at the end of such a deeply trying and burdensome journey.

Love this man! Jealous Manchester has him instead of Liverpool. Great speech helped so much and we told you for 20 years they were lying but not many believed!! And people wonder why Liverpool turned its back on all things Britain after the abuse and blame that was thrown at those who had lost thier family members with no fault of their own.

so the decision of LFC to play at a ground THEY KNEW to be unsafe and had previously said to the FA that it wasnt safe, isn't questioned. The FA Knew the ground wasn't safe/appropriately set up and told LFC to play or forfeit. The tradgedy here is that those that clearly were out of control and were witnessed by many DID contribute to what unfolded. the verdicts given will not absolve them and their consciences of their guilt and part in this tradgedy!

    • @ynotnilknarf39

+Richard F really? there are many from liverpool including those that had being there and knew someone whom died questioning the inaction of the club, the FA and how a large portion of fans behaved on the day. hard a pill as that might be to swallow. if you are critical of some but not others that have a clear part in the events unfolding at some stage then how is the inquest fully truthful and open...or is that no-one is prepared to (rightly) aportion some blame in the direction of certain parties because they are fearful of reprisals..There is no doubt that 13 of the 14 questions answered by the jury were correct. 1 was not and two questions were completely missing.open your eyes for gods sakes..truth my arse!
