That was awesome again guys!! Great job!! I have busted one 2x6 on a deck. Broke it completely in half. Homeowner was really nice. I felt bad. But he was cool about it. I fixed it but told me not to worry about it. Plus he is a buddy of mine. So I went by there when he wasnt home and fixed it ;)
Echo lasted a while on a tank..good work..i'd just on the cautious side i'd fill it up after each tree trim, tiny little tank...your doing all the interesting trees August, your a damn good climber..one of the best...this was one of the most difficult jobs you guys have done, fist bump & HI 5..great team of guys you have August.
Best video yet, thanks so much for taking all the time to explain the dangers and sharing the ride, and the railing mistake. Also much respect for giving Reg credit for his part on the speed lining techniques.
Eight hours of work and one hour removing sap. Once removed a stout Oak tree, about 36” diameter, in a similar deck situation, but with no bucket or crane accessibility. Used an A frame ladder and crosscut the whole stem top down and then cut quarters, so it would be manageable. It was the only solution we could think of and it worked quite well. Nice, team, deck repair! More great music choices!
At 1/2 way through I was going to say what an awsome job not tagging anything. Well all I can say is that was an amazing job rigging around the home and deck. Flying cookies just reminds me of August shooting one out at the new prius. Damien has nothing to worry about. You still made the boss mo money then you cost him. I guess that's the bottom rail/line. 😀 Love the quote by Reg.
Good job guys ! Amazing job ! Those are always the fun ones that have such challenges. I always find a small bit of damage like that on a monstrous job is ok. It’s not what you “want” but it’s acceptable. I always fix it in the event it happens too but most home owners tell me “ I thought my deck would be gone so one board is ok” stuff like that. I’m always feeling sad that I messed up and they always just tell me don’t worry your amazing. The best part of being a tree guy I say. Getting to mess up and have people still love you hahaha.
Kudos to Damien! If all you did was that little railing don’t worry. I have seen way worse! With all your good work I’m glad you made August fix it!!! 👍👍👍👍
Great job boys. Y’all went home safe that’s success in my book. And thanks for sharing that technique when you lowered those stumps beneath the deck. That’s going to make my next job much smoother. 👊
Classic understated Reg at the end 👍@damian I know and hate that feeling of watching something like that happen and pud a dampener on a perfect difficult job but a fairly cheap inexpensive fix.
Look into two part epoxy, I learned about it fixing wood in old structures for historic restoration. It would rejoin that busted off part solid and after a bit of paint you wouldn't know it's there. It also can stabilize punky wood. It's pretty runny so it soaks in instead of just forming on the surface. Have a great day.
We used one called the "west system" and done properly the joint would have been stronger than the surrounding wood. I do like that he fixed it and didn't try to hide it.
Great watch August. If you wanted the music to build a little drama, it came across. I'd tell you how lucky you are to have guys like Damien and Adam but you already know that. Nice you can be in 2 places at once, but you know that too haha. Thx bro... Oh, one last thing,I thought you guys said"rounds". I'm happy I heard Damien say "16's" haha
We've all had those moments where we're finishing up a job, somewhat amazed at ourselves for pulling off all that tricky rigging and not breaking anything, and then some tiny little mistake (face cut hits something, you step on important flowers, etc) ruins the whole vibe in your head. Good thing about decks is they can be fixed. Happens to the best of us
Great team effort! Pitch on the ropes??? Oh man I hate working with pitch covered gear. Somebody has to do it eh??? Well done on all points..... .....especially the confession, I REALLY hate when that happens. Keep yourselves safe! Randy
ha "you were sposed to catch that" :) Great video. What a team! Thanks for showing the repair side of things and the way it is done by conscientious professionals! *** Question? ... is it "standard" for end of climbing line to pass through safety lanyard? ... vs. running outside safety lanyard? ... or does it make any difference? ... or "it depends"? thx.
Robert Wood usually outside lanyard to my right redirects standing end of rope away from my spurs. Unless climbing line is around the spar in front of me then down through the middle.
We had a scenario this summer where 2 xrings and the rope had collected soooooo much pitch, a 500# load would hang with no porty or a hand on it! I was getting thrown around! Be well, awesome job MB crew
hey, August could you please tell me the name of the artist of the tune at the very beginning of this vid.....I Shazamed it and it gave me same off the wall artist, which definitely wasn’t that tune, thanx a lot.....tune is creepy sick👍🏼👊🏼
Awesome job again fellas! Im moving into this type of work now from mostly pruning on the energy network here in Australia. I can honestly say I pause and rewatch sections of video to learn more of how you are doing certain things. Thanks so much for the quality videos! On a side note, August how do you like the Neopro Rope?
Easy fix as tree guy you gotta for take responsibility second be able to do alittle bit of everything good job on the fix cutting the board at an angle blends the seems better 👍 I'd be lieing if I said I never broke anything in this game there so many ways for something to happen. Hell I was flushing a stump with a coworker coffee on it ya I should just moved it but iv done so many pass threw cut an left the chunk on but ofcourse this came off an spilt his coffee now some ppl are probably thinking well it only a cup of coffee but others know how important that cup of coffee is when your on the job lol now the crew calls me the coffee killer. So watch out the coffee killer might get you when least expect it ..
I may not be a tree guy (off the farm) but I'm no dummy. I need to get a pair of chaps...I'm 63 and getting cautious as I get older...and I like those C Logging (or is it Clogging?) chaps. I'm gonna save my pennies and buy a pair eventually.
Mountain Crest Farm Clogger Zeros and, yes, they are amazingly comfortable integrated climbing pants with saw protection but pricey, as in 3-4 times what a good pair of normal chaps cost. I love mine.
I am looking at the Zero Light and Cool and the Defender Pro chaps...both are around $150. That is pricy but not that much more than Stihl (about $110) and a hell of a lot less than a bad chain cut that costs a leg. I'm a diabetic with circulation issues in my legs and a cut with a chainsaw...even a "relatively" minor one, would probably cost me a leg or at the very least 4-6 months of recovery...time I can't afford as I am a framer with livestock to take care of daily.
pitch SUCKS .not only while the job is happening but after when your cleaning your ropes . Nice job Damien , it takes some backbone to own up to a mistake.
Damien's confession is a testament to your quality leadership.

Great piece of work. Real care for the customer’s property and your integrity as well!
Great job. Damien is making me nervous with wearing that wedding band to work.

What a pleasure to watch I really dug the Cheshire cat grin in the bends of the rope🍀👊🌲
Great video. That was tough work. Shout out to an excellent client also.

Damien don't beat yourself up regarding the decking. 99% of home owners will be amazed at the skill and care of you chaps :-)
But that 1% man..... Wow lol
@@Chevron.Muskoka ha ha, no shit.....
Awesome work guys! I aspire to be like you all. Keep up the good work

Cracking work Adam and Damien...August is just there for the Rodeo spar :-)

Yeah I thought it would have glued on back ok but cudos for August going the extra mile and replacing the part.
We used one called the "west system" and done properly the joint would have been stronger than the surrounding wood. I do like that he fixed it and didn't try to hide it.
I'd love a Reg and August collaboration. It would be a knowledge overload. :)

"Don't try this at home!" Impressive skill set, and cool music. Nice work guys.
Oh yeah great job August and Adam. 'Cut it deep'
As always great professional job.
Inside every tree man is a carpenter trying to get out, vice versa as well!
Nice job mi amigo 👊🏾💪🏾✌🏾
Bwahahaha.."At least they're really light.. For me anyways.."

Different style to old Buckin', so subscribed! Edit - good job on the repair work. A lot of guys would have used some wood glue and filler..
Nice work guys on a difficult job ....unlucky Damien ....apart from that all calculated out to the max.
The thumbnail you used looks pretty awesome.
Moose Knuckle Thanks, yes, it’s an oil paint filter placed on the picture.
Great team effort!

Nice teamwork.

Thanx from the left coast near the Krapitol of California
We had a customer tell us one time "you can't make an omelet with cracking a few eggs!"

Good job y'all
How would you of done it if you couldn’t use the bucket to capture the last dozen pieces?
Derek rig
What type of set up
Derek same as the set up we used before the bucket would reach.
You know I was really hoping to get this job... guess you got me bidding too high now.
hey august..thats a nice cs2511t you got there. It would really be a shame if you used it in more tree videos........
Ive had alot of gum buildup this year from distressed trees. What's your method of cleaning rope? if you dont mind my asking
Marty Ross I scrape it off and let non gummy trees wear it off 😁
Nice lol thanks man. Beats the tub scrubbin
Nice work. Only break stuff you can fix, haha.
Lovely! !!!
Awe you knocked over the coffee cup at 3:42
sure enough! it was way old though.

Nice... how I hate pine sap 🌲.. aka pitch 😂👍👍🇦🇺
If a deck rail is all that got broken, then it was a good day
All tree guys should have carpenter skills to shit do happen very professional work August 👍👍👊👊
Concreate...ashfualt...gutter....carpentry....fence...haha
Ah treework. The only place ya can find the pitch before the windup.
Awesome
Good stuff fellas
You forgot the crane....🤪🤣🤣
How hi up?
I nawmean, August. I nawmean.
@Damien It’s itchy up here. Wear the gloves then, August did a video about it before.
Should have used chain saw to cut 2 by 4😎
Bad ass...

I like Reg but man he needs to lighten up!
