Thanks for the update! But I'm not understanding the rant? The majority of people wanted better articulation, and now they're going to attempt it. Sounds like a win to me. Now let's get some better prices and better joint quality
I think this should have been implemented with their TMNT line ( and others) years ago is the gist
I can't speak for Hatter but I feel this way due to the price point it should have been implemented from the beginning. It was a bs excuse that they couldn't. Take carey dude
“He’s that Guy”
For me, it's how Brian seemed so pained to give his customers something they wanted. Maybe if lines like Power Rangers were given double joints, they would have sold better, and we'd be getting more from that line.
when you listen to Veebs and Flynn, you can hear that they fu**ing dispise double joints. Flynn even praises the single joints by saying " when I mess with the ones that we have... I don't sit there and go " ho my gawd this articulation is limiting" Veebs : yeah.... Flynn continues : I don't think it's the case but I think that there is a knee jerk version of like....double joint huh..".
You can even smell the hate from their exchange....now let's hope he does not try to screw up the range
I'm 40, so I prefer my figures to have shitty joints and to cost roughly double the competition.........apparently.
Hatter injured his hands planting a bunch of trees... for all the shade he's throwing 😂😂
Hahahah
Yeah those 2003 Turtles didn't have double joints. They had swivles.
Bingo.
Prices super7 charges double jointed arms and legs should be standard across all their figures
As someone who was a kid during the 2003 era of TMNT what the heck are you talking about Brian? this was a major "How you doing fellow kids! 🤓" moment, he's clearly just making it up as he goes
Super-out-of-touch-7 making 2003 turtles means we still wont get cartoon accurate 2003 turtles figures.
I love how Brian says hes against articulation and hes been putting completely pointless abb joints on all their motu, thundercats and silver hawk figures..that destroyes their ascetic
Wha??? They didn't want to mention flipor??? Wow...that's very disappointing
Robo and veebs are a clique. They snub those not in their circle of shills.
I like how he compared the double jointed knees and elbows to “the toy you grew up with”. Like, you mean the toy that had 5 points of articulation? That made no sense to me
Also, are they completely done with the vintage line? I’ve seen some people say that’s over. I’ve also seen people say they’re doing vintage and the 2003 stuff… so I don’t know what the heck is going on
2003 is when figures started having double joints, so that was accurate actually.
@@benjaminwiseman6567 Oh, well never mind then 😅
@@benjaminwiseman6567 When did 03 ever have double joints?
@@jinzin1 Toy Biz Spider-Man and Marvel Legends
I stopped collecting Super 7 due to the Thunder Cats articulation and price ($55 buck for Snarf?) I fully agree Hatter smells like bullshit to me
It took him a full month to come up with the rationale that ultimately proves what I said on Reddit was right about him losing decision making control...
...and that was the best he could come up with.
Oh boy. If it feels like it doesn't pass the smell test, that's because it doesn't.
I was born in 1976 and so pissed off right now. How dare they make double jointed turtles
The funniest thing about this is those figures didn’t have double joints 😂
That's exactly what I was thinking
I came for the information, but I stayed because it was my policy.
This is kind of a good news / bad news thing for me. Double joints are good news, but Super7 has tons of QA issues with current engineering - especially in the hips/knees/ankles. I don't have a ton of confidence that they can add double joints in the elbows and knees and have any less QA issues. If anything, it's double the opportunity for floppy limbs. Time will tell.
I’m a 98’ baby and 2003 was my first and favorite iteration of the Turtles. Happy they’ll be double jointed!
Brian has spoken! As i grew up in the early 80s, my Thundercat orders are being downgraded. Now I only qualify for shoulder and hip joints. No elbows or knees at all for my orders🤣
He's right about one thing: people have expected double-jointed knees and elbows (among other advances) since around 2003, when Toy Biz set the new standard with Spider-Man Classics and Marvel Legends. Most companies dragged their feet about it for years, but these days, outside of hardcore retro lines, nearly everything has that stuff.
I think smaller lines like AWOK have to be part of what's pulling up the stragglers. Goodness knows it's not Japan or HK. They've been leading the way for over a decade, competing only with themselves to advance toy engineering, and 90% of the West just stick their heads in the sand.
“Rant warning” = classic Hatter video, I love it
😂😂
Super stoked for the double jointed limbs that’s great news. They need ab crunch too. To me that’s worth the wait. That’s the main thing their lines have been lacking is articulation. For ACBA tmnt collectors like myself articulation is everything. They probably realized they had to compete with mezco somehow 😂 articulation is more important than aesthetic. I was born in 85 though so his statement makes no sense.. everyone in the ACBA community focuses on articulation and a vast majority are 30-50 years old.. Brian lay off the bongs.
So now their prices are going to skyrocket.
Probably his new investors forcing him to do things the right way and give actual modern articulation, hopefully next day force him to lower the price or actually make each figure worth $55
@@AlphaTrion92 Thank god.
I just assume anyone who took the time to watch the 2003 series, regardless of age, like it. I was in college when the cartoon hit and it’s still my favorite turtles show that has come out. I would be excited about double-jointed articulation, but I don’t trust super 7 to do it well.
What's hilarious is this news leaked out from the same report that said investors have more of a say in Super7 final decisions going forward instead of Brian .... which included double jointed knees/elbows in the TMNT 2003 line. Brian denied that the only thing that was factual was that there was help from an investment team.
AND WOULD YOU LIKE AT THAT?
Lyin' Brian, everybody.
That's some bull. You literally have the elbow and knee pads to integrate double jointed articulation. Its pure laziness outta'em and they'll push the cost onto the consumer because of it. "Labor reasons" adding modern sensibility. Hide ab crunch under all their belts!
Hatter… I don’t have that policy. I’ll name them. 😊
Shame them damn it!
I'd like to know who, not to harass them of course, just to know.
@@TimboFromLimboFwoosh
@@micklestapler4technically not the Fwoosh… but yeah
@@TimboFromLimboVeebs is the one doing the interview
I’m 95 and I’m buying these lol but I understand your point.
Will this be their excuse for raising the prices on the figures? I bet they start out at 75 bucks and they'll say, oh it's because of the double joints, that costs wayyyy more to produce... ala vac metal Silverhawks... ala "glow in the dark powder"... etc.
Articulation over aesthetic 💯
Will you ever do a collection tour
Oh man. I was born before then. Guess I'm screwed. 🤷
Isn't the same guy that whined at sdcc about having to make chrome silverhawks? "Oh no, I have to do my job and remold parts!" "Oh no I get to re-sell a re-mold at a higher price, woe is me!"
Veebs has always annoyed the hell out of me. Robo... I used to like, but him not wanting to help promote Flip-Or, but does for other youtuber's, rubbed me the wrong way.
Some people think S7 was forced to give the 2003 TMNT double articulation by the entities that allow them to hv the license or who invested with S7
Ok this makes me wonder and worried about the line how far nickelodeon will let them go
I’m born in the 80s, so thus I don’t like articulation evidently. Back then people were born less flexible
While I vaguely caught the Cowabunga Turtles at the end and had an older brother, I can definitely say that the 2003 Turtles is the show I grew up with.
I can also say I had pretty much all the figures from the first few waves (normally I wasn't so spoiled but it was the same year my parents got divorced so...) and articulation was not something these figures had at all. I mean Shredder came with a fixed bend in his elbow, so unless you kept the weapon in his hand at all times he just looked weird.
Where's this BS coming from that we expect articulation in these guys? Just admit you wanted to change it up.
I knew it. Hatter is also a pro thumb wrestler and was injured during his last match. That is my guess.
Hahah you know my secret!
Agreed, Hatter👍Nonsense aside, I am interested to see how these turn out and wondering if they'll go on sale like many other S7s.
I was born in 1993. 2003 TMNT is my favorite version of TMNT. I really hope the figures turn out well.
I still have my og 2003 turtle figures and turtle van. I have always wanted a modern update of these turtles.
Mad Hatter Don't Know
Robo Don't Know!
Flynn also said in April's interview that the 2003 turtles were slated for end of April...
I like when you give your opinion it makes you who you are! 😄👍
I can’t buy super 7 stuff . Loose joints all the time
That excuse was insane, just admit you guys were behind on articulation and are finally getting "modern".
And shame of them for not promoting Flip-Or!
I'm confused.... Am I supposed to call this Hatter variant "Stealth Hatter" or "Night Shadow Hatter?"
Oooppo I like night shadow hatter a lot!
@@madhatterreviews6705 we'll go with that then 😄
If you look carefully, at around 8:05, your Leo figure’s mouth/neck starts moving by itself (he’s sitting next to Snout Spout). Is your house haunted?
I didnt see anything after looking several times
It’s been my experience with Super 7 that the less articulation a figure has, the better shot it has of being able to support its own weight.
I bet they will be 60 bucks after tax per figure
So according to Brian 87 fans didn't want double joint even though 03 was even less articulated? Acting like he did this for the fans lol. The investors is why he's doing it. No chrome silver hawks then surprise chrome silver hawks lol. Soft ball questions too. They talk about the esthetics but put that nasty cut across the power rangers bodies. Lol I'm scared from those power rangers chest lol
Hey! I started a conversation about the whole double jointed knees/elbows thing in the comments of that mystery channel...about how I didn't remember them being a thing on the 2003 figures, and several people had the same recollection I had about them.
The only think I dislike is the pre ordering
Didn’t Robo go over the Flip-Or figure?
Great video, Hatter! Enjoy hearing your viewpoint, inclusive of rants!
You must have been playing too hard with your turtle shells
I actually prefer the single joints on the Super7 Ultimates currently. The figures are display pieces, not figures I fight with each other, and the single joints better represent the older figures. By the same token, you could say 2003 could be double-jointed because they're matching the show, not the 2003 toys.
Those interviews are such fluff pieces. They are hard to watch sometimes.
My favorite iteration of TMNT. I want to support. Hope the price point is right. But then again, will NECA be doing their version of the 2003 TMNT? Mezco? Playmates already re-released the originals, which look amazing for nostalgia factor, but will they also put a modern twist on it in a future release? Will BST AXN get in on it? If so, which will have the BEST articulation?
I am in the camp aesthetic over articulation. I get mad at the knee joints in Origins. They can be top heavy and bend backwards way too much, I agree with the logic Origins should not have had knee joints.
Single jointed Thumb 😂
😂😂
OH MY GOD! He's so right! I was born in '86 and I HATE double jonited elbows and knees! When I get a figure with those joints I get so mad I have to go out the back and punch my unicorn!
Why does he have to drop at least one big steaming pile of bullshit every interview he does? This ones nice because, If memory serves, the 4Kids Turtles figures didn't have radically different articualtion compared to the 1988 ones - I think they had ball-jointed shoulders instead of swivels. I suppose he's talking more generally but...I was 16-18 during this period, I was buying a lot of action figures, I don't remember the genreal state of articualtion being much improved from the 90s with, obviously, they odd exception like Marvel Legends (or the lines it spawned out of anyway). Fuck it, i'll disprove him another way too: up untli the mid-2000s, the time when the standard for articulaton was at it's highest was in the 60s and early-to-mid 1970s, where eveyrone was tyring to be G.I. Joe or Mego. So if anyone has expectations about articulation being high it's the generation before your average '88 Playmates fan, not after.
😂😂 spot on
@@madhatterreviews6705 I thank you

I could totally see them doing a copyright strike on this video because they’d say “he’s not adding any transformative value”.
Hope that doesn’t happen.
Wish ToyTubers didn’t have famine mentality. Good on you for not naming them.
Also, Brian is under the gun with his investors. He is so bad at making us like his company.
What was Pixel Dan's excuse for not promoting Flip-or ?
I think Hatter said in a live stream that he (Hatter) thought they (Flip-Or team) had reached out to Dan but it turned out they didn't,
when a fan asked Dan what he thought about Flip-Or he said he was excited about it

Hell yeah bro, you are hilarious, I was waiting for this video, I rolled my eyes too lmao
They are bastards for not helping the toy TH-cam family grow.
The fans born in 1995 or later are the true fans Hatter! When were you born?!
I grew up with the 2003 turtles, and all my old figure have swivels and single jointed elbows and knees 👀 😂 So super 7 will take a 5 points 80s figure and put it up to 16 points - then take a 2000s 12 POA figure and put it up to 22 POA is how it works? Or perhaps the super 7 being on sale section all the time was a kick in the backside 😂🎉
Lmao I respect the full-on petty-game taking place here (with that channel that shall not be named).
And yeah, that logic is complete nonsense. The 03 turtles were *barely* more articulated than the o.g. figures at all. The ones that came out with slightly improved articulation in the hands, knees, toes and ankles didn't show up til a couple years later, and by then, the figures were in full gimmick mode with most people leaving them hanging on the store shelves. What the crap kind of goofery is this? Just say you made the figures you made to the best of your abilities at the time, got feedback about the articulation and are adjusting your scheme to line up with consumer satisfaction... Win/win and no bulls***. It's okay that Loyal Subjects put a foot in the ass of your product on a single talking point. Super7 taking the effort to pivot is a great call and greatly appreciated, no need for the gaslighting. Looking forward to the 03 series either way.
Hatter🎩you didn't talk about Sliverhawks "Darkbird" coming according to Lyning🦁 Brian Flynn LOL!🤔🦅😳🙆
Johnny who?🤣 As far as the Bearded One that shall remain nameless, even though Flip-Or has struck a chord with collectors, it is based on a somewhat negative aspect of the collecting hobby. And since TH-cam is the Bearded One's full-time job, I think he's avoiding Flip-Or for fear of possibly burning some corporate bridges; albeit the chances of that would be small, if you ask me. I'd like to think It's nothing personal; just business.

Thanks for the happy ending last night, I did warn you I'm a lot to handle 😮😅
I feel like most collectors want modern articulation on their figures, so the age thing felt pretty weird. But we are getting 2003 figures so it's a win.

Honestly as someone born in 92, the Super7 aesthetic never appealed to me. They just kinda look like statues to me, which is fine if thats what you like, but posability is a big reason why I collect.
I loved 03 Turtles growing up so seeing them in new toys sounds great on paper but Im worried they'll still be kinda statues even with this slightly improved articulation. The mezco turtles kinda set my expectations a little too high lol
S7 is just going to use articulation and double joints to price gouge the consumers. Not a fan of their practice , even the Fury Samurai Turtles improved with every release.
Yea its long over due with their price point.. i dont get the "kid who grew up with 2003 tmnt" thing when talking about it tho.. like they werent double jointed
Yep that just confirms that most of the people at the top of these companies have there heads firmly up there own a$$$
I was born in '91, 2003 TMNT is my favorite, and I do expect and appreciate the double jointed elbows and knees. Thanks for catching up with modern toys, Super7! 🤦

Yeah S7 are the kings of back-peddling. Brian especially. That said, I've *never* felt Super7's TMNT needed double joints because they haven't even mastered single joints yet 😅
I was born in 95 and my first introduction to tmnt was vhs reruns of the 87 toon saban next mutation tmnt and 2003 tmnt
I hope you don't have actual beef with Robo and Veebs. They do mostly focus on 6 and sometimes 7 inch figures, so I think the MOTU Cartoon Collection is the one exception since its more fudgeable.
I'm just glad TMNT 2003 is finally getting some love. I stopped buying Super7 ages ago, but I'll definitely at least get the four turtles and Splinter from this line. If they're good, Casey, April, Shredder and Karai, too.
Hopefully they take a page out of Neca or Mezco turles articulation scheme. Also that age remark doesn't make sense because Mafex,Neca and Hiya Toys are making 80's/90's properties like Rambo,Robocop and Terminator and all of them have modern articulation technology like ball joints and double jointed elbows and knees
Can't wait to get them on clearance
Hey man, I’m a ‘95 people and I would buy the shit out of some 2003 turtles!
By 2003 the og series was no longer on tv, the ‘03 series was really the only Tmnt cartoon on tv at the time, and it was a pretty badass iteration to be introduced by, kicks the ever living shit out of the newer corny ass iterations!
