I've heard alot of people say the Kawasaki twins have a bland sound but i like it. It really has a character all its own and in the high revs it sounds pretty mean. It dosen't have the same sound as an inline 4 sportbike but thats what makes it unique.
The liter bikes are awesome no doubt, but you have to admit these new small displacement bikes are pretty exciting and the 400 Ninja may be the best of them, for now.
i drove many liter bikes...more than happy i was scared most of the time because i got into many troubles quickly. With the 400 i'm having the time of my life
Thank you for uploading this. I’ve only ridden for 5 months in the city. I now have a better idea of how a bike can be ridden in curvy areas and how quickly a person can downshift and rev match. This was rather enlightening.
The first time i tested the 400, i had such a riot! Lively little engine, wheighs as much as a 125, has the bare minimum wind protection, perfect fun yet easy first bike. I made 2 friends with fresh A2 licenses test it last year and now they both have one 😂 but 3-4 month old used ones, saves you 2k 😉
@@Ejtoowavy at least in the eu you have theoretical lessons, around 12 and practical lessons, around 20-ish hours worth, including night riding, highway, b-roads and city riding. And THEN you are being examined in around 30-45 minutes of irl riding

I'm going to my local dealership to look at a ninja 400 and a cbr500r which ever one is more comfy to me is the one I'm picking price don't matter to me both are beautiful and awesome sounding.

I have a '01 Ninja 500R that sounds almost exactly like this, and over a few months I grew to really appreciate the noise. It's got a real mean growl to it down low, and an enthusiastic battlecry up top. I actually prefer it to the CB, personally.
I have a '95 EX500 and I was surprised how much it sounds just like this 400. The 400 sounds a bit more refined but my carbs are likely not balanced properly. I'm considering replacing my 500 with one of these.
The bike sounds great stock and the horsepower increase with aftermarket exhaust is minimal-the engineers knew what they were doing when they designed the Ninja 400
A full Scorpion exhaust sounds amazing and adds a little more zip, but if I am honest with myself hardly noticeable for the most part. It will sound faster 😂
I'm honestly glad I got this bike, if I had got something faster I'd be so dead, deff think beginners should grab one of these, it's the smart choice, stay safe youngbloods
As an owner of a Kawi twin (in 650 flavor), an aftermarket exhaust takes it from quiet lawn mower to psychotic dirt bike. Yes even the 180 degree Kawi twin can be made to sound good.
This was my first bike, I did 10.000km with it. Best bike ever (now have my 4th bike cause I need more power of course and more weight, this bike is dangerous on high ways when its windy)
Still waiting for the used market to mature, but I WILL own one. Have a ton of local roads just as tight as these, 45-50hp @ 168kg seems the perfect power-to-weight for maximum fun in such places.

Des Teil hat mich die letzten 2 Jahre durch meine A2 Zeit begleitet und mir einfach en riesen Spaß bereitet und ist meiner Meinung nach, einfach nur wegen dem Vierzylinder, so viel geiler als sämtliche heutzutage produzierten A2 Sportler.
Bei 400ccm find ich 2 Zylinder geiler, aber jeder wie er will. Und jeder muss für sich entscheiden ob Abs oder nicht, ich denke die meisten wollen eins.
Well it does look and sounds like a lot of fun. I used to ride a z650 during my rider licence lessons. Now I'm on a CB650R and I miss that familiar "wob wob wob" sound of Kawasaki's twins
My 2 cents. I own a 2019 cbr500r, stock exhaust still. I’ve been on ride with mates on ninja 650s and they had a very very hard time catch me off the line. The cbr has a very very nice torque line and the bike pulls hard from 4000 all the way to 8400 with no drop in power. Also it’s alittle heavy which I think makes it better for highway riding yet can still be thrown around bends very easily.
I’m a Honda guy normally but these 400s have such a sweet chassis and fun motor they’re much more fun than Hondas 500. Sure the 500 is more groan up, more roomy and probably better finished but the 400 is way more fun imho.

Your rev match downshifting is so clean! Can you please explain me a little on how you rev match that easy? I pull in the clutch, kid down in the gear and open the throttle and while closing it I let go of the clutch, but I still feel like the engine speed didn't catch up with the wheel speed because I get the feeling of slowing down really fast. Regardless, great video! Loved it!
Well, unfortunately it isn't simple, that's all. It took me thousands of kilometers to practice. So patience is key basically. I unfortunately don't know any trick to it
If you're worried about the exhaust just get a full system. I've heard an R3 with a full Akrapovic exhaust an the sound is amazing. Loud pops an bangs with spitting fire. It'll add to the fun the bike already has.

I used to listen the ninja 400 lots of time in real life, the stock exhaust sound sound bad until you reach a certain rpm range, and most of slip-on exhausts makes the bike sound like a psychotic dirt-bike but, I’ve heard some exhaust(both complete and slip-on) that makes the bike sound soooo much better, the sound whit a proper exhaust can be decent, just don’t buy crappy slip-ons and take off the db killer and you are ready to go

Ich bin von ner Honda Cbr 600 rr PC40 zu ner Husky 701. Jetzt bin ich wieder auf die kleine Ninja 400 gewechselt weil seit der 250r VON 2008 mein Herz an den kleinen Hängt und ich bereue es nicht. Nach der 1. Saison bin ich immer noch Feuer und Flamme für die 400er. Natürlich der Sound ist nicht vergleichbar. Aber in Sachen Handling und Fahrspass einfach wahnsinn. Es fühlt sich super an mal aus der Kurve raus auch mal 2 - 3 Gänge durchzudrehen ohne gleich 250 am Tacho zu haben. Natürlich ist das auch geil, aber wenn man an seinem Führerschein Hängt dann ist das so doch besser . Ich bin mehr als nur zufrieden, ICH BIN VERLIEBT.
In the right hands these 400’s are terrors in the corners. Not too fast in the straights but a lot of fun to ride in the tight stuff.

The sound is nothing an aftermarket exhaust won't fix. I've heard nothing but good things about the 400.
Define "fix"? A parallel twin will sound like a parallel twin no matter what kind of exhaust is on it.

this is really a best bike for those who ride very less and want a big bike feel lovely twin engine good power lets be honest noone is riding this bike full throtle open and going through all 6 gears like motogp most will use this as a city or touring bike not everyone wants to go fast

I just can't 2 cylinder sound,just can't. Played the video thinking 1 min and next one but .. superb riding! Blipping perfect! Watching today everybody have quickshifter,auto blipper ... Was very interesting to watch. Not to bad sound on high revs

I used to listen the ninja 400 lots of time in real life, the stock exhaust sound sound bad until you reach a certain rpm range, and most of slip-on exhausts makes the bike sound like a psychotic dirt-bike but, I’ve heard some exhaust(both complete and slip-on) that makes the bike sound soooo much better, the sound whit a proper exhaust can be decent, just don’t buy crappy slip-ons and take off the db killer and you are ready to go

Ich muß mir mal bewußt ein Motorrad in dieser Hubraum-Klasse ausleihen um mal zu sehen wie die vorwärts gehen. In dem Video sieht das nach Spaß und recht zügig aus.

Gut beobachtet ;) Hat er nicht unbedingt, aber manche Modelle generieren mehr Interesse als andere hehe Bzw. ist es fast immer so, dass ein erstmaliges Video mit einem bisher noch nicht gezeigten Motorrad wesentlich mehr Klicks generiert. Ich werde mich bald wieder an eine Toro Adventure Episode setzen und da werden wir dann eh sehen, was Sache ist ;)

Ich bin von ner Honda Cbr 600 rr PC40 zu ner Husky 701. Jetzt bin ich wieder auf die kleine Ninja 400 gewechselt weil seit der 250r VON 2008 mein Herz an den kleinen Hängt und ich bereue es nicht. Nach der 1. Saison bin ich immer noch Feuer und Flamme für die 400er. Natürlich der Sound ist nicht vergleichbar. Aber in Sachen Handling und Fahrspass einfach wahnsinn. Es fühlt sich super an mal aus der Kurve raus auch mal 2 - 3 Gänge durchzudrehen ohne gleich 250 am Tacho zu haben. Natürlich ist das auch geil, aber wenn man an seinem Führerschein Hängt dann ist das so doch besser . Ich bin mehr als nur zufrieden, ICH BIN VERLIEBT.
