I've visited Newport in summer of 2022 & people there were very kind & they took me to my destinations everytime I asked for directions !! I was so shocked !! All of 'em did that for me !! One very nice lady there I chatted with while waiting for our bus at Gear bus stop right by St.Wooles cemetery even paid for my bus ride !!( I couldn't find my coins ! ) Cafe at the Ridgeway & St.Julian Inn are my favourites / recommendations ,gorgeous views from those cafe/ pub 😀 are something to remember by !! Costa coffee at the Friars walk was really nice to have lunch or tea & relax at !! I'm currently planning to revisit with my mom !!! 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞

We saw your video on Pontypridd and loved it ! Now we( wife and i) are going to watch this one on Newport later today ( on the BIG screen 'smart' tv !) We left Newport in 1978. Born and brought up down PILL..Lots of memories growing up there. Tight community . Now living in Canada ( British Columbia) have 5 children. Three boys and i still dream/wonder if we had stayed in Newport if thye might of 'made' it at Rugby ! Two of then over 6 foot and one a very fast runner ! They did win a provincial medal in school Basketball many years ago ! Keep up these videos ! having some great laughs watching them.

Panky looks marvelous thanks to you! :) A great addition to the family! :) I love the ole shops, yes I am both excited and still saddened how things change especially in appearance. I think the tones of grey and white give a subdued look and a bit somber. I think that the greenery is also nice. I do love all the intricate stone works and carvings!

We stayed in Newport for 4 nights when we visited, a very interesting “town” We were annoyed that we missed out seeing the Transporter Bridge. Thanks for showing us a bit more. Best wishes Mark and Julie

I always say that too, and even when it's not an earth-shatteringly important building there's so much to see, like old business signs made up of the most beautiful tiles, etc. The historic arcade is just lovely and really evokes the past. Yes Caroline I'd love a coach trip. You should take us all on one! 😀👍 I just love browsing those trendy shop windows for outrageously priced collectibles which my parents couldn't wait to chuck away! Bur ir gives endless ideas for upcycling charity shop finds and making something just as trendy. Well, hello to Panky! What a perfext companion for Manky. She's looking great now. What an extraordinary story about the Chartists who were secretly laid to rest in the cathedral grounds and I'm so glad they are now remembered with a memorial plaque. I absolutely loved the simplicity of the interior of the cathedral too. Beautifully done! From the Romans to the Normans and onward to the modern, just stunning. Thanks for more fascinating information about Newport.
Yes, we miss a lot by not looking up... Glad you liked the coach trips as well as the cathedral, but we know what you mean about the outrageous prices, but you're right they can be an inspiration. Panky is settling in really well, ⭐🐼⭐ and is doing a bit of cooking in this weeks show. We felt the same way about the plaque, it is nice that the unmarked graves should be remembered. No, sorry April, we don't have any mudlarking trips planned as health issues are making it too risky for us. So we've decided to return to our original concept before we discovered the mudlarking, which is 'Let's Go' a travel magazine show.
