When the whole world is talking about neutrals, old money style...here comes Trinny and tells you to embrace colour, to have fun with it, and she does it in such a sophisticated and elegant way. What an inspiring lady! God bless the Queen of Colour!

I've always appreciated that the lessons are about shapes, and shades, and dressing with joy for your own body and lifestyle, and NOT a constant commercial for certain brands. Yes, she has her favorites, but so do each of us, and she's often explained that she demonstrates with Zara because it's THE most accessible worldwide and for price point. I don't personally shop at Zara at all, and am a heavy curvy woman, BUT the lessons still apply. I can always find a personal example in my wardrobe to apply what I've learned from her advice and inspiration. That is RARE to find amongst the fashion advice community.

I have Trinnys book Fearless, I refer to the Match To Me colour section nearly every day. Absolutely fantastic reference to help with choosing what to wear or in my case, what not to wear.
I have culled the colours that don't suit me and almost all prints from my wardrobe and have now find it easier to dress each day.

I love pink and green together, too, it’s one of my favorite color combinations. I have a light khaki green leather skirt which I wear with pink tops, love this color scheme. Many tints and tones of red work well with the same of many greens, so long as they don’t look Christmassy (pink is, of course, a tint of red). I usually have white in there somewhere, too, it’s my favorite neutral. I also love pale pink with burgundy, which is more of an analogous rather than complementary color pairing, as the combination of red and green is.

First off, I like Trinny or I wouldn’t be watching her channel. And, we have similar tastes in that my closet is also a healthy mix of luxury brands and Zara and COS. However, about 70% of my wardrobe is black, 25% other neutrals, and about 5% color, none of which is bright neon. I also prefer smaller, genuine jewelry pieces to big costume items. I find my wardrobe to be tasteful and sophisticated. It seems like over the last six months, Trinny is wearing a lot more black, and more neutral and subtle color combos, like today’s jacket and jeans. She also mentioned that she has been getting rid of a lot of the wild prints she used to wear. This isn’t a criticism-we all have tastes that evolve as we do-but I think Trinny is realizing that all of those bright colors can often look very cheap. As Dior said, “You can wear black at any time. You can wear it at any age. You may wear it for almost any occasion…” Finally, it would be a very boring world if everyone dressed the same. I love seeing color on others, if done well. I’m just observing that Trinny seems to be coming around to my way of thinking.

I am so confused with the match to me. When I do it, my palette is the exact same as Trinny's. And yes we have completely different colouring. Years ago, I was told I was a "winter" so a lot of the colours on the Trinny palette are so out of usual realm.

Trinny, I've recently started watching, because you are entertaining, full of energy, charismatic, glamorous, look 20 years younger than you are, and above all, because you demonstrate how to LOOK with a ruthlessly critical eye at every detail of fit, colour, cut etc.
It has been a salutary and fascinating lesson.
    BUT
despite being so infinitely sensitive to colour, you persist in wearing hideous neons which are an offense to the eyes: like a slap in the face. Sequins seem essential to you, but they often make you look like the fairy on top of the Christmas tree, while being ruinous to the planet.
It is perfectly possible to look young, original, stylish yet ELEGANT, as you showed for instance in your navy based capsule wardrobe to pack for a week's imaginary holiday...
And less is often better than more, yet you persist in piling more and more stuff on to lovely get ups: add a gilet, a scarf, a belt, earrings etc until you look like a parcel, and the line of your splendid figure is hidden.
And you, tall already, sometimes choose to wear the most absurdly exaggerated platform shoes.
(It reminds one of the laughable extremes of fashion thro' the ages: medieval men with points to their shoes so exaggeratedly long, they chained the tips up to their knees in order not to fall over them, rich prostitutes in Renaissance Venice who wore pattens so high they had to lean on a servant girl each side of them to be able to walk, 18th C ladies with 'heads' so ridiculously tall they had to lift the roofs of sedan chairs to fit inside, and paniers so wide they couldn't get thro' doors).
All these extremes are not fun but silly and unnecessary, but the designer burgundy velvet jacket is so utterly perfect, (and cost so much), that your respect for it has seemingly made you leave it in peace and dress simply for once, to allow it to register how marvellous it is, how beautifully it fits and suits you.
It looks magnificent. I'm so glad you bought it. Enjoy it, but please learn a lesson from it!

I disagree about red/purple and red green. If red/green wasn’t possible that’d eliminate hundreds of beautiful tartans, for instance. I think we just have to pay attention to how different reds/greens sit with each other, and try to avoid looking like Xmas wrapping paper. It can look really crisp and modern. (Red, a rich mossy green and a yellowy chartreuse can look delicious, for instance.)
I also think I would avoid being too determinedly matchy-matchy about colours, adding in a subtle extra colour to stop it being too prescriptive.

Navy and red is a combination so overdone by everyone in my career years, beginning in the early 80s, that I just got sick of looking at it. It’s too corporate or something, especially with the gold always worn with it, every other print seemed to be navy, red and gold. Nor am I crazy about red and black, I prefer reds with slightly softer browns or pinks.

Trinny is gorgeous, but I don’t understand why this video is tall and narrow (and not filling the entire screen, like most of the influencers with a ton of followers)?

    • @teresacarle294
      @teresacarle294 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

😉Times are a changing. Think these are contributing factors to her decision.
▪︎The majority of hipsters watch Trinny on their 📲phone in Portrait↕️ format.
▪︎She fills the tiny screen📱 from top to bottom delightfully...if you pull the video lightly downwards. You don't see a lot dead or dull space in her videos.
▪︎Shooting in this format, you can be much closer to your subject & still see her from 🙂head to toe🦶 at times. In fashion, it's important to see the entirety as well as close ups.
▪︎In Landscape↔️ mode, the camera has to pull back much further to capture the entire essence. ⬆️The taller your subject, the more the camera must therefore pull back. Trinny's 5'10" in bare feet.
▪︎She shoots the majority of Closet Confessions in her private home vs a large studio. Floor space is limited.
▪︎Personally, I believe there's a loss of detail when the camera is in landscape format. Also portait lends itself to the extremes as well as better to follow your subject in real time.
▪︎Lastly, she & her team power on shooting these segments. Overall, they try for continuous momentum vs lots of starts/stops/edits.
😊Find it's very intimate to be able to follow her around in her dressing room, stores, & more. I like that her fashion format is different from the rest of the style pack. Blessings...
      💚Bridget from Cali☘️
