I agree; there's a reason MCU spiderman has always been called Iron-boy Jr.

No one wants to admit it, but the real reason they’re pushing Miles so hard is because Peter is going to become public domain in only a few decades. Miles can be the new main Spider-Man for at least another century, so they’re starting early to phase Peter out by making Miles the “cooler” Spider-Man, and it’s actually working because they took the race angle with marketing him.

Have you ever planned to talk about what is happening to Spiderman in the current comics? It's pretty depressing how he's treated there.

  • @JcgLounge

Geez. I like Miles. And I was once even a fan of the Spiderverse concept. But, you aren’t wrong. Spider-Man was special because he was one of a kind. Now, the Spiderverse made it feel like he’s just one of many drones who all have the same exact story, or something similar.

Couldnt agree more. The original Stan Lee Spider-Man run is my personal favorite iteration of the chatater. Still holds up today.

I like Miles but I always thought Peter and Miles both being active at the same time was dumb especially with sharing the name. I know the main reason is marketing. It's the same reason why we got 2 wolverines and Batmen at the same time.

When spider-man homecoming came out and i watched it i thought "damn they turn Peter into Miles" and at that time not many people knew about Miles and definitely less in my country. They give him fat, smart, asian friend who literaly looked one to one like Miles friend Ganke, he helps him with crime fighting lioke Ganke, they made that Tony watches over him and made him suit and he preparing him to become part of the Avengeres, like in the comics Nick Fury watched over Miles, gave him the suit, wanted that he became the Avenger. And for me MCU spider-man not Peter Parker but a race and name swapped Miles. In the MCU movies he always needs help, he always makes his friends and loved ones be a part of his super hero life without consequences Aunt May discovers that Peter is Spider-man, she likes it and supports him SHE LITERALY THE ONE THAT GAVE HIM THE SUIT TO ANOTHER COUNTRYWHILE HE WAS IN A SCHOOL TRIP she wants him to be Spider-man she doesn't scare about him, she doesn't think that it is to dangerous, no lets give the suit to my nephew who literaly fought the war to save the univers, 'dies', ressurect conveniently with all his friends, loved ones and other people he knew and nobody scared for him, not even him that much. I grew up with 90s and spectacular cartoons and Sam Raimi movies my spider-man doesn't need help of people without powers because he hepls them not other way, my spider-man doesn't need help with science from friends, he smart enough, or when he doesn't he goes to real scientist like Connors, my spider-man afraid that people around him discovers his identity because he would put them in danger or simply made them worry about him. And the problem is in modern spider-man universes they made him look more like Miles and Miles more like Peter. I dislike Miles he is not original like Miguel O'Hara or even like Ben Reily who literaly Parker clone, his powers is to OP and he never uses them, his entire point is i'am like Peter but black, especialy after games and animated movie. In comics when his uncle dies he is afraid that he can become like him in the movie his uncle who helped kill his spider-man, who tried to kill him, and he knew he is just a kid, HE DO NOT HAVE A PROBLEM TO KILL A CHILD, but he has a problem to kill his nephew, no shit. And his uncle in second movie portrayed like a good uncle with problems, are you shitting me the man who helped kill spider-man and wanted to kill a child is worthy to paint a wall in his honor f off.

I really don't like the way marvel has been portraying spider man and Peter Parker in the latest movies, ganes, etc, he is incompetent, dumb or dependent on the others help and still fails. But I like when Peter has these happy moments, like when he and Mary Jane had a kid, because the reader knows he earned it.

  • @Ignoreduser

This guy is literally me. I’ve been saying this for years and everyone been trying to make me sound crazy. I’m old enough to remember a time where “organic webbing” was controversial now nobody has any standards anymore. Modern spider-man sucks. Most IPs feel like intellectual hand-me-down to a clumsy uncaring sibling; you want them to enjoy it but you know they will mess it up and not take care of it.

  • @derrickjohnson4952

To this day I don’t understand why they didn’t just use a new character, look at static & invincible they remind people of Spider-Man while standing on their own feet.

The thing that finally made it click for me that the modern writers for Spider-Man just seem to genuinely hate him, is when I saw the comic where Peter legitimately prays for God to just not make his life so terrible, and then I saw the comic where Miles got bullied, so Iron Man went to go break the dude’s spine, because “everyone likes Miles”.

  • @justhuman8173

Finally someone who actually BOLD enough to say that theres a mountain of problem in the modern Spider-man potrayals. I always said this to my friends and other communities but they straight up denied it and saying that Im a racist for not liking Miles, but the actual problem not in Miles but in how they reduce Spider-Man's urgency close to nothing.

  • @ArcTrooperRod-269

AS SOMEONE WHO REALLY LIKES MILES & THE SPIDER-VERSE MOVIES, I have to actually agree with you, The whole spider-verse concept kinda ruins the point of Spidey being a Street Level Hero

  • @TheOfficialKGP

The MCU spider man is literally written like Miles Morales in the ultimates. Miles literally was donated and given his signature spider man suit from Shield. In the MCU, Peter is donated a suit from Tony Stark. Which Tony starks makes and manufactures weapons for S.H.I.E.L.D. And Miles was even donated Peter Parker’s web shooter from Aunt May. Miles Morales never builds his own suit nor never builds his own web shooters. Everything is donated to him and him not learning to be his own man or having his own state of identity.

Honestly miles should have just stayed in his universe since at least he would have a much better identity of his own rather than just sharing peter's

  • @user-hn1kh4zv5c

I thought the central theme of Spider-Man was "giving one of your most popular love interests a creepy as fuck relationship with the most punchable man ever put on a comic page for the sake of cheap dramabait is preferable to giving fans what they actually want" . Oh, wait. That's just modern Spider-Man, carry on.

Spiderman 2 (ps5) It's literally a scrotum lick for Miles, and they keep treating Peter like a punching bag

  • @nont18411

I think the superhero that got the worst case of “updating to fit the new era” is Superman.
