I don't exactly understand what you mean by half of it but what I would advise is knowing the topics that comes for the examination that you are preparing for and solving that part of the books as a priority.

My Experience is limited to Bachelor's Degree but from what I know, you should make sure to include as may project as possible which are from the same field in which you want to do your Masters in as portfolio is very important for Master's Entrance Tests.
