torinobob He didn't destroy Paxman at all. Black came off as a childish bully. If you look closely at Paxman's facial expressions, he was often suppressing laughter.
torinobob Watched it many times. Look closely and you see the smirking. Paxman wasn't the least bit disturbed (he is known for being tough even on prime ministers).
Black was overseen by a Board of Directors. Where any of them charged with being accomplices or being derelict in their duties to the shareholders? When the shareholders agreed to the business plans presented by Black they should have been careful in reading the fine print. Didn't they ever make $ when he was running the corporations? Did his successors run the corporations any better? Or did they run them much worse?
I really wanted to hate Conrad Black because I really believe strongly that the news media should never be monopolized or become an oligarchy and he really has owned most of Canada's media. (Thank god for the publicly funded, arm's length political watchdog (CBC) that we, as a nation, set up- no wonder Harper is cutting funding.) But after hearing him on Q and here, I can't deny that he has charmed the pants off me with his reasoning and intelligence.

Conrad rocks!
4:25 was pretty rocking. Mr. Black tells it well. 99% conviction rate. Stalinist America worrisome indeed.

He fleeced Hollinger with the permission of his hand-picked board of directors.

He has a point, but holy crap does he ever irk me.
