Are you shitting me? She can't hold s note now. 3.50 for example. Many other times during song she was off key and she has developed a very nasal whine.

@@littlesebastian4389 yeah, but still very good, i think she has a better control now, but she had a healthier voice back then, or just soud like that on that video. Its a really emoitonal song too, so maybe shes sad and related to the lyrics, the control is more difficult on that kind of situation
even with the mistakes on this specific performance (which is in the middle of a very long setlist of hard songs) her voice and technique improved incredibly and her voice matured over the years. Amy's voice is best at her highs than at her mids.
Pretty rare that an artist's voice can sound identical live in concert as it does on his/her original recording. She is one of those rare people. Incredible.......
Not always. I bought an Evanescence CD years back when they had reasonable popularity here in the UK, and it had a live performance on it. The singing was horrendous.

I saw them live twice, a couple of years apart, and both times they where fantastic. Even open air, which is even more difficult.

Singers often mature their sound and have to play tricks to hit certain notes. The OP's comment is talking about her original recording, which was 21 years ago.

I feel like her vocal talent and ability is criminally underrated... I know Evanescence fans know how powerful Amy's voice is.... but she is truly a once in a lifetime talent, the control she has, the emotion she conveys, and the beautifully haunting quality of her voice is second to none.

I was wondering if Amylee is now in a bad shape or maybe could be the belt, because I´ve been following her since she started singing, and in this performance I can see her big experience at stage and nice control of course, but I feel something wrong about her breathing, I just hope it is only about her belt.

I wasn’t even a fan of Evanescence, despite them being popular when I was younger. Revisiting this song in particular has me in my feelings right now. I always appreciated her voice, but 20+ years later my appreciation for it has increased tenfold. This is real singing. Insanely talented woman.
I still believe that Amy has the the most technical and powerful women voice present. When you can stand almost 2 ft from the mic and generate that kind of vocal power is amazing. Love you Amy your songs have helped me through the darkest times.

This is probably one of the most beautiful songs ever written . It deserves to be shared. My 17 year old daughter has been trying to play and sing this for a week, she wants to master it. To me it represents all we have been through the last 2 years and honours our fallen and gives us uplifting hope

As I watched the video, Amy looked and sounded to me as if she was crying throughout the performance. This song is a very emotionally gut wrenching song. It was actually written by former band member Ben Moody. The song is about his late grandfather, who passed away when he was a kid.

This belongs to Synthesis Live DVD. It’s a must for any person who appreciates their music. Synthesis was a guilty pleasure project of Amy and a experimentation with their sound. To this day I think it was a really cool idea of hers. I would have died to witness this tour ❤️

Sometimes there are very special vocalists that their voices are special and there will never be another of. They are iconic.
