I have a lot of respect for anyone who attempts a song of Amy Lee's. Amy's voice is just so powerful and beautiful, I can't imagine the anxiety of covering her music.
I don't really feel anxiety covering her music, but I also can't do just straight up do covers. I get so shakey and awkward when it is just my voice or if I'm too loud over the singer...but with amy I do literally fine.
The second girl created her own rendition of my immortal but didn't over do it. She appreciated the original music and kept Amy Lee's soulful way of song delivery in her own way.
I've loved Amy and Evanescence for around 20 years and it warms my heart to see her music is so warmly loved and appreciated around the world, that so many young ladies are prepared to imitate her. Nobody can do what Amy does, but even so, it's lovely to watch this. Thank you.

Wow this super cut is a good reminder of how hard singing is, and that Amy Lee is truly skilled at her craft, she is a unique blend of rock and classical vocal skill, very few have or will come near such talent. (And yes, I understand that there are plenty of singers who are "better than" Amy Lee, but Amy Lee is one of the best at what she specifically does)
People keep comparing her to Floor of Nightwish. Floor is magnificent, but so is Amy. They each stand out as having finely honed their craft. Their tones are different, the " colour" of their voices is different. I think they are both deserving of respect and just plain jaw dropped awe.

Ok, I love Amy, she has a beautiful tone, a really moving voice and she has a special place in my heart because I used to sing a lot of her songs. But Floor is just another level (but not just compared to Amy, but compared to most female singers). Floor has a wider range, she can sing completely classical, rock, pop and even scream. Floor is THE best singer in metal by far (even though my favorites are Sharon Den Adel and Marcela Bovio, who are pretty good themselves.) Also, Amy is not that good live, especially when she sings heavier songs (she's good with ballads though), while Floor is flawless live. But yeah, both deserve respect because both are good. Amy is a wonderful singer, but Floor is just a total BEAST.
Her songs are necessarily the hardest to sing, the snythesis lacrymosa (the high notes at the end, you just got really get good breath support by getting enough breath before and controlling it...you gotta really push out and have energy to really sing that out) and the end of the dream are probably my two most difficult songs she has done that I have sang. Mainly only for the high notes. I also wish I could do actual covers and sing by myself, but I get way too awkward and shakey that I start sounding stiff and just can't sing. But, with another singer I am fine.
Sorry but they over did it with vocal gymnastics, it was very unpleasant to listen to. The girl on the left had pitch problems. This is a rock song where you need to have a good head voice. Opera does not belong in this song, it was too gimmicky. The guy was okay.

As a huge Evanescence fan, I can say that Romy and Elien were the best! They have great clear voices and they feel the emotions of the songs. The first part of Anne's performance was so deep and emotional too, but then smth went wrong... And though Tetiana's performance has some downsides, she's the only one here who has a true rock vibe 👍

No one can "cover" her songs, she Is a talent unto herself. She can't come close to being duplicated.
It's not that deep if you're an artist people sing your songs but it doesn't mean they assume they sing them better or take the song from the artist
