I mainly want proper armour for direworves. War wolves would be great, especially now that they are heavily nerfed since they can always take 2.5x headshot dmg
A Carno (or any other Dino) with knight armor and colored blankets and saddle bags that appear when you add stuff to the dino's inventory, would be sick

11:10 you didnt need element dust for cryopods. It was just hide, oil, crystal, metal, fiber, and polymer. You also didnt need element dust for the cryofridge.

That actually sounds interesting though now that I'm thinking about it, it would make for a nice middle ground where you can still have cryo pods but they're much more high tech. At least in my experience you traditionally don't fight bosses until the late game, but you can fight gamma broodmother as early as level 30, so that could introduce a boss rush meta where you want to break into the tek tier as soon as possible

Nah fck the pokeballs. Yall just need to learn how to actually play the base game. Always putting the game in such unrealistic easy mode is so cringe. If you cant even handle dino storage then its on you. They also ruin pvp which is the default ark game mode that you mostly dont play

My guess (and personal want) for their 'surprise' is an Adventure Mode, where you have to reach certain milestones to progress instead of levels. Like tame X amount of creatures, or perhaps find certain Dossiers to be able to tame some, find certain artifacts and bosses in a specific order, amount of breeding, building sizes, and 'feats of strength' where you play exclusively in a certain place without the use of dinos (like Artifact Caves). I think an adventure map like that would be a challenging and fun way to play, especially if it grants you unique rewards or the ability to tame special dinos (that cant be used in pvp in the spirit of fairness, though given snails record that may not be the case).
That would be cool but I highly doubt it
I really like the idea of getting level capped very early and having to do these things to unlock levels. Ark has this already but it's kinda extreme. Players are level capped at 105, until you ascend or find all the notes, etc. That level cap could be like at 50, with increases for finding some notes, taming x types of dinos, etc.

Its a new story dlc.
Back on ASE there's the ECO's Highland homes, which introduced Highland cows and wagons. they could be pulled by the cows and horses from vanilla. You could build in the wagons as well. Super handy for getting around with a lot of materials. Put something in the back for food storage and you can transport a hundred mutton or prime around like it's nothing.
Can you just inagine having server events that are train robberies where the robbers are riding on Fassies and you have to jump on and off the train with your loot, all while circling and traveling all over the SE map?

Well with the quality of the nitrado server I can see this not even gonna work because currently most shitty servers that are a lil populated run on a 3sec delay

@@gotyamI doubt it sadly. The quality of unofficials not hostet by nitrado was still as bad with a 3sec delay, mostly because ark servers are simply never gonna be working the way we want em to. Theyre always gonna be shitty unless you max em to like 20ppl who are whitelisted to join and dont build too much shit

Its just crazy how stupid the game devs and most server hosts are not realizing that you need to have a max of 40 ppl on the server. And obviously remove structures from beach bobs on a regular
Agreed, it will be a proprietary creature for the Wagon and most likely the Bison that always came close but never won the community vote. In fact, expect some of those that came close seconds to be in these packs

Ragnarök was probably my in my top 5 favs. I didnt actually play the last few cuz i took a break from ark during the time. Really always enjoyed ark, but Im not really an official player. Also love your series Syntac. I think the very first time I was introduced to you was from the days when Slipgater was playing

Yea bro, they’re not gonna optimize the map, they didn’t even optimize the game. ASE was built with a faulty foundation and then for ASA they used the same foundation.

Feels like a Wild West series would be amazing😊 kinda like the mid-evil series from way back when. Like disable taming a lot of dinos, no flyers, make horses really common. Little Wild West towns. That would be so cool

I do not know if anyone else picked up on this but they also stated that from now on moving forward all focus and work will be on ASA maps and roadmap. Lot of people basically assuming ark 2 could be scrapped at this point...
im pretty sure railroads will be incorporated into the map to travel like raft on riverrs...if so, there will be some kind of ingame mechanism to avoid players blocking trails with wagons with timer or an offside dock to auto dismount wagons from rails when players stop the ride..like player dismount a saddle...wagon could dismount rails
Are you going to do a series for all story maps? Scorched earth to genesis part 2? I really hope so as I've been really enjoying your series on the island and would love to see your experiences on those maps in ascended.

I’d say the surprise is ark 2 gameplay, a gameplay of a new feature, maybe gameplay of some unreleased maps, and my final theory is like a official ark series with some of the dev team making their own survival series. I think the first two are most likely in my opinion

Big thanks for posting this but oh my god I could just cry. I just bought the game hoping to play scorched earth in December and now it’s march… just very upsetting. We’ll have to keep watching Syntacs videos til then

I can achieve a playable framerate on my setup but a decent framerate doesn't really matter when the longest I've ever gone without a crash is a whopping 15 minutes. And that's after following every guide I've found on making the game more stable. Before that I was lucky to make it even 5 minutes.

I think a good feature that wildcard should add is dinosaur formations so like when you’re playing like a war game, you can align your soldiers to attack in different positions like four rows of four or a triangle like pattern. I think if they were to add in a way to stagger your Dano’s, and like a defensive or attack formation, it would make moving dinosaurs and positioning dinosaurs easier would love to know what you guys think
They won't, but that'd be cool. I remember when I first played ark, I would try to command a Rex and a raptor pack from the back of a trike with a stego or two following to haul the metal and stone I was harvesting.
Super fun conceptually, but the game is way too buggy and dinos are way too dumb for something like that to work.
Surely there’s a mod God out there that is already working on this or has done this. I’m not big in the mods so I’m not sure, but if there is might be worth it.
You can kind of do this in a limited way with the follow mechanics. Example : have the pack leader we will call creature A. Two more creatures we will call B and C have B and C follow A this will start a triangle formation that will grow by having two creatures following B and C each. Then it will get larger for ever creature added to this chain. Like I said it's very limited and tedious but id imagine you could make various formations this way. You could also utilize the ordering groups to command different formations to different places. Now I'm curious what kind of usefulness any leftist f this could actually have

I really do NOT want them to push these maps and dlc's. They need to fix the mess that this game and have it run well. A lot of the furry/feathered creatures lose all their textures if u have the view distance on low or medium. Even on high over time, the longer I play, the details disappear. Idk if I'm running out of memory or if it's just the crappy game.
Not to mention the consistent crashes online and offline.
I still love this game, both Evolved and Ascended, but they're making it really hard this time around
I think the creature would be tamable for people who didn't by it but it fits the theme of the ark bc they did say that with the voted creature, there'd be 3 additional ones,and the additional they might be a new story or maybe Helena was respawned herself or maybe it's a story of the unamed survivors who've Ben revived but I'm hopeing it's more earth maps thi be extinction was fun ,or even a ocean map.would be nice
The new story maps I feel like could take place between extinction and gen 1 since we truly don't know how we got on that ship so mabey we have to save the ship on that map from who knows what and we get onto the ship after
Genesis 1 felt like it was set after Scorched Earth. Trying to tie Rockwell into it was a HUGE MISTAKE. It would make more sense to be that the Genesis virtual reality system was a way to train and determine the abilities of each of the survivors before the system generated them as real people and placed them on the Arks. And Scorched Earth should have been set on a desert on Earth. So it would be you are just some random human on Earth, then you get set into the Genesis system THEN you are placed on The Island Ark.

I've said for a while now that they need to add wagons so that you can build bigger mobile bases that don't get destroyed if the creature(s) pulling them die.
Base the size of the wagon on technology tiers and the drag weight of the tames pulling it.
I actually don’t mind the delay if it means SE is going to even better then it was before!

It be so cool if for the trains if they have food in them then Wyverns can come and pick up your cargo with the food in it. So you would need to put turrets on an empty train bed to stop them. Only an idea but you have to admit it be cool and somewhat realistic

Edit: I wanted to watch the ENTIRE video first before I came back, but I honestly think Wildcard & Snail are actually doing pretty good with this announcement! As a casual player, and someone who just really enjoys the franchise, this is really nice to see from them, past disappointments & issues aside. I honestly think with the frontier dlc pack, the creature might end up being the Auroch? It would pair well with the wagons frankly. Really hopeful for the future of ASA!

I was excited about Scorch Earth, I had 113.7 hours on ASE Island but my ARK got corrupted and it basically wiped my single-player world.
I attempted to go God mode and rebuild my base and everything I had but at the same time, it was the first map on ASE, Im going to move on to the next map when it gets released and perhaps get 100 hours on each map.
Yeah i really miss cryopods. I jist walked a bronto from my bob base on the south beach, all the way to my new base in the snowy biome last night

Don’t really mind the adventure packs that much. We are still getting a lot of content for free so as long as they are inexpensive or don’t change the meta to much I don’t see the problem
Technically you get "for free" what you payed for...and 50 bucks for a (at the moment) mostly visual update and small QoL things that should have been in ASE is payed quite well. Considering that other games do that for free. The most frustrating thing is they did not even clean up their code base and the bugs/problems are exactly the same as in ASE...but in beautiful. At least they worked a lot the first weeks on fixing, if they keep that up it might even get a good purchase.
For me the important factor of the adventure packs will be the final content and pricing. And of course the implementation on servers...would be a real bummer if you need the DLCs to play because the server implementation is so bad that it cant handle it
They have to make Fjodurs pack Viking theme! I hope they add Viking long boats like actual boats not a ski! That would be cool!!

I was kind of hoping we would have gotten Scorched Earth still in December. I can already tell a lot of people are going to complain about this roadmap; but if it means that the maps will be more optimized then I am all for waiting.

I’m betting in the first expansion dlc pack for scorched earth creature might be the jumping spider or the grogon because they are very popular
The adventure packs make me think of the Conan Exiles battle pass. If you unlock a reward, then you can create them, place, wear, or ride whatever you unlock. You can create certain items and armor for other players, they just can't repair them. When it comes to the creatures, they can interact with the pets, but they can't create them. As for the mounts, they can access their inventory, but they can't ride them. So, it will be interesting to see if they follow the same rules with these packs.
Unfortunately, I can see some players on the official servers trying to monopolize on these packs since some players won't have access to the content in the packs. If they allow pack items on the official servers at all.
Maybe the surprise is either some TLCs for some critters or new/extra building or Quality of Life stuff like the old S+.
There was a ancient giant cow/bull I'm sure it was called summat like auroch.

The roadmap for the DLC is kinda a slap in the face but it's also sort of understandable. If their really going to rework every single DLC map to the amount that the island did, it's easy to see why each would take a few months at least. But it's a little dejecting to see confirmed that the next few years of ark are basically going to be reworks of content we've already seen before, with some changes. The new content planned for each map is sorta surprising, I'm not sure how I feel about stuff like trains in ark and can only imagine what else they'd add for each map. Just kinda a weird direction for Ark going forward I guess.

It would be cool if the carriages attach to dinos like a saddle attachment to give more weight for inventory or like a separate chest you can access on the back with like a bes spawn or something. I'd love the carriage to be like dino included to pull it or use Equus

it would be cool that if the saddle has like 140 armor then the dino would be almost fully armored and stuff. basicly the higher the armor on the saddle ther more armor the dino is wearing
I was iffy about playable content but… this sounds amazing I am incredibly excited. I would love for it to be 5 as well seeing as there are other maps and well 5 dollar each stacks really fast. Imagine 10. We’ll see. I do think Ark is worth it.

I’m concerned about the new DLC creature. They say that the pack is small and optional, largely containing cosmetics and certain items, which is fair. But a new creature too? How does that work? How do you make a creature optional when they’re part of the world and not something to craft? It has a bit worried ngl.

I just hope we can breathe for at least a second without something else scummy yknow? I’m perfectly fine with a small DLC like this but it’s gunna rub me the wrong way if they just exist in the world but only those with the pack can tame them or something. That’s very mobile-y.

Very sceptical about the addition of the dlc packs. It seems like the first crack in Wildcard holding off of the microtransactions that Snail has been pushing for.
If the packs make a significant gameplay change between players on the same server, then I'm looking forward to circumvent or block that content off of my servers.
I'm very okay with the delays in map releases, the more time they spend improving the maps and the game, the better.
