Funny story, didn't know anything about LoRaWAN until I was shopping microcontrollers for my robotics and drone hobby projects, was browsing the commercial Arduino products and saw LoRaWAN mentioned so I decided to dig in. This is a pretty amazing technology, as a hobbyist I'm constrained to somewhat clunky networking options (bluetooth, wifi, lte, rf) but this technology standard is pretty amazing. How is it possible to achieve long range (claimed 16km) connectivity? What kind of throughput is supported (kbps/mbps) and what kind of hardware is required for directional applications? thanks again!
