@@vdjnicco I mean if you wanna keep your own sim, need internet when arrived before reaching a sim card shop, sometimes I had issues with local sims that they just stopped working. And in general it's just easier especially wheb traveling to many countries within a short period of time :)

at 3:34 you're talking about watching the sunset. A tip: On the west coast north from Nathon, there are a variety of restaurants by the beach to watch the sunset from. If you drive from the north-west tip southbound towards Nathon there's a bunch or relaxed restaurants and beach bars lined up by the main road. Just make your choice out of which style you want to have on that evening: high-end restaurant, stylish beach bar or a relaxed reggae "hut", hop off your scooter and enjoy the views !
I think the point should be made that both of these islands work well together, and there's a little bit of everything between the two. I hope people don't judge too much based on one video. For example, there are times when the beaches he was on are some of the nicest you will ever see in your life. He caught them on more of a windy time. He doesn't know Samui at all, and therefore he only gave you a rookie taste of it. But he's good at making videos.

WOW so I can totally do Koh Samui for a month or two because it is giving bangkok meets the beach life. WOW. I was worried that I would get bored on Koh Samui lmao, because I thought it was this remote tiny island. there are even cannabis dispensary there I see, just WOW. Good to know about the sunset location. I love sunsets as well, because I use to enjoy going from Seminyak to Double 6 for an evening walk on the beach or hang with friends under an umbrella to watch the sunset. Good to know about Koh Samui.
Good review. Koh Samui is a lovely Island. Crystal Bay Beach is very nice during the low season otherwise it can be very crowded. Basically a "look at me beach" for many people. Many beaches on Samui are more chill all year around. Yes, Samui is more expensive however there are reasonably priced food options also. My biggest delta about Koh Samui is the traffic on the NE side of the Island in particular. Access to beaches in several areas is limited (blocked by resorts) and transportation even on the ride-share Songthaews is relatively expensive for Thailand but it is a tourist-dominant Island. Overall Koh Samui is lovely.
I love both! i lived 5 months in koh samui, end of august i will go back again since i have my girlfriend there. Koh samui is amazing, it has a good mix of everything, small city life, partys, beaches and i can work (online) good here. I also was in koh pangang for 1 week with my gf. Honestly koh pangang is my favorite for now. Ive been also to ko tao, but koh pangang is just the best in my opinion. But to live samui is amazing, the best is just try all islands and experience for yoursellf!
It's amazing how developed the island is now. I was there 25 years ago and it was like Koh Phangan is now. Also when I stay on Koh Phangan that was truly bliss hardly nothing developed there at all and accommodation was so cheap, I didn't want to leave.. Thanks for showing us around.
Mate, these beaches are not busy at all, I live on the beach in Spain and off-season has more people than this, and I'm in a coastal village. Other than that nice brief overview. I'm planning a three--week holiday in Thailand and the East Coast of Koh Samui will be one of the stops.

Koh Phangan seems better but the problem is it looks possibly impossible to find a modern accommodation like a condo that's not 1000$USD+, even at 1000$ doesn't look easy to find. Maybe I don't know where to look for it?

Mate you stayed in only 1 part of the island, you missed out lamai, baang rak, mai naam ,bohput & fisherman's village...you just explored the touristy / party side of samui....samui is alot better then Phuket

Didn't have problem in Samui, in Koh Phangan once the water was out in Chaloklum but they find alternative way to get water in few hours. But I was just few days in Samui so not sure.. Drinking water wouldn't go out on the shops😄
I understand there's no grab on Koh Phangan, they have those 8-10 pax minibuses but are there actually any private taxis there? For those who do not wish to rent scooters and still wanna be able to drive daily from let's say Chaloklum to the main town or the beaches in the NW?
There are some companies who offer it but I think it's more for transfers between pier and hotel. I mean it's quite pricey, not sure if it would make sense as a daily transport

Even though the road you were taking looked pretty flat and not busy. I’m just moving from Da Nang to KP preferably but I’ve never been to TH before and pretty uneasy with the scooters there.
@@leonidasse In my opinion, Koh Phangan is one of the easiest places to drive scooter because yes it's not that busy and big roads. Sometimes steap roads too yeah but 99% of the time it's pretty flat where you drive :)
You can fly in and out of samui as it has an airport. Only Bangkok air flies there so it can be a bit expensive. Ko Pha-ngan and Ko Tao don't have airports. They are the three inhabited islands in the group. Phuket is the other main island with an international airport. Which is on the other side of the peninsula. Cheapest way is to fly a low cost airline to Surat Thani on the mainland and get the ferry to Samui or Pha-ngan.
@@IstanbulChriss in mu opinion iPhone is the best choice as the quality is so good while being easy to carry & use, always with you, etc. If you want more cinematic look, also DJI Osmo Pocket 3 would be a good option!
Too many people everywhere. Because the beaches are very short for the number of hotels on them and people that visit them. Not inviting at all. Plus you have to travel from one beach another and what you find after the travel is another short and crowded beach. The only attraction seems to be driving for that like. I don’t need longer and more wild beaches.

Plus you have to travel from one beach another and what you find after the travel is another short and crowded beach. The only attraction seems to be driving for that like. I don’t need longer and more wild beaches.
