  • Up into the back of beyond to get that 160 moving again out with the old in with the new and onto a building site to hopefully cure a water leak !

    I saw another bloke on TH-cam who works on forestry harvesters and whenever he did jobs like this, he fitted a nifty electric vacuum pump to the hydraulic tank. That way a lot less oil spilled from disconnect hoses.
    Have a good Christmas lad. 👍

      @@alisdiggerdiary Bet its expensive item too. I worked on a 1967 Hymac 580 BT. been worked hard all its life, stood up for ten years and started first time with a new battery. Do you think that there is too much electronic sensors on what is just a digger? Have a good Christmas

    Have you ever started a job and lost a critical bolt or nut or snapped a plastic part . Then. It's game over

    • @alisdiggerdiary
      @alisdiggerdiary  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ….yea putting an oil cooler in a machine and snapped an A/C pipe which turned out to be a bigger job to fit and probably twice the labour 🤦‍♂️

      @@alisdiggerdiary I work on gas boilers . It happens LOL or you drop a hard to reach screw and it goes missing down a floor board. I started using magnet dishes for my bits now . If I don't use a magnet dish I swear gremlins hide stuff so I can't see it find it .

    I think about 3yrs ago I did a zero 22t..... slew ring had gone and all but 2 mount bolts had sheard.
    Spent a day bent double magdrilling all 10.9 M20 bolts out.....that was hell.
    But sometimes you look at the job see all pipes ect all round it.....and you think....bugger.
    I know, you just have to start at easiest point and work round to clear everything off the part.
    Don't know what's worse, mid summer or mid winter??????arrrrr

    • @alisdiggerdiary
      @alisdiggerdiary  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep I know exactly what you mean the 140LCR-3 used to snap the bolts for the slew when I was servicing them I’d rock the machine left and right and look for the slew dipstick moving usually your catch it before any bolts broke

  • @joshuawoodford9911
    @joshuawoodford9911 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sprinter pads are easy, pull the sensor out, big flat blade in the disc and use that squeeze the piston in against the pads then whip the slider bolts out. 10-15 mins a side

      In response to these comments “I’m always fixing them “ and then “being soft” I’m always fixing them because I work for a Doosan Dealer I look after a large area with over 250 machines in it on my own. I don’t do mad hours and rarely work weekends. they work in all sorts of different environments from site work to forestry and quarrying. Forestry is one of the more demanding roles for any machine and there’s a lot of forestry in my area, moving parts will inevitably fail either by wear and tear, miss use or manufacture fault and I don’t care what colour it is it will break down I genuinely believe Doosan offer great products I’ve worked on other brands and are comparably better in my experience but like any machine they can have their faults and as you’ve seen over the last 10 months they are usually easily rectified

      Ali, boom, totally agree 100%.
      As for pins etc, if operators are consciences & grease them properly they will last, personally I take the view to grease all points so I know they take grease inc removing fittings on the auto lube, slightly different trade to you, all the same as you do.
