A little trick my Dad (a steel player) picked up from Herb Remington to keep your fingerpics from slipping... before you put them on just lick your fingers. That's it.
Hi Troy! Which string gauges would you recommend for multiple tunings (CGCGCE, DGDGBD, DADF#AD)? Currently I'm using regular light acoustic guitar strings.

The Dobro can do it too but it sounds different. This is a Lap Steel Acoustic Guitar.
Check out Jacob Raagaard from Denmark. His tone/technique is unique and he is one of the best players I know!

Man, those are heavy strings. I don’t know that I would want to go that heavy.
