World is strange. 8 months after you uploaded this song, I got my first cat. Just a small little furball I rescued from the streets that grew so close to me. Fast forward eleven years. Exactly 8 days before this vid reached its 12th anniversary, I found her lying dead in the kitchen. On this day, this song was in my recommended videos and I dearly remembered everything from the first day, like a flashback. This cat was like a daughter to me and this song resembles her somehow. The love and peace she gave me, every moment she made precious. All is in this song and I come back to it from time to time. Thank you Thomas!
Thomas, At 81 years old I have just discovered the instrument you are playing here. I love the sound of it, and you are the only guy I have heard play it that can bring out the best in it. You are on my favorite list forever and why don't you put out a couple of music videos. I'd be a buyer for sure. George
@@thomlev5217 He was great, I especially love his first recording which I've listened to over 100 times (he brought me back to the Holy Bible). But he didn't play this type of guitar, although he played with others who did. Thomas Oliver and Jacob Raagaard are my two favorite Weissenborn players, although they both play regular guitar and lap slide etc. too. I actually know little about either, other than they are Maestro level musicians, and I LOVE their musical sharing of their inner heartfelt love.
Then make it so now, my brother! I've got about a year left before the Cancer takes me and it's the most freedom I've ever had. It's never too late to be happy...
The guy literally made my obituary song. And I don’t mean that to be down and out and sad and depressed because to me this song has hope if you read the chords right that’s what it’s all about.
that is the most beautiful music i have heard in a longtime, my friend. and i am a musician and i hear music all the time. very skilled, well arranged and beautifully performed. thank you for sharing. your gift and this video.
I saw this comment back in 2016… 6 years almost 7…. This is the reason how i discovered the song slow dancing in a burning room and learned in how to play on guitar… time flies… read this comment back in sophomore highschool… now im almost 2 yrs in the military lol….
This is the kind of music where you just grab yourself a drink, sit down in your comfy chair, and, relax. Its beautiful. Well done, Thomas. Take a bow.
I think what makes this so honest is the way it's recorded -you can hear all the string noise - the bar on the strings during vibrato, etc. That stuff almost always gets nuked in production. Good job T. Oliver !
I just picked me up a wessonborne and just ran across your video. What an inspiration you are. That's definitely from the heart & soul. I'll be listening to you for more tips. Thanks, 🙏
This is soooo beautiful! 😊 I'm scratching my head though as to how on earth this could possibly get a thumbs down from 62 people...jealous maybe?! 😏 A million thumbs up from me! 👍
ha, never ceases to amaze me, half the time i listen to this it brings up memories, and i find myself crying. the other times, i find myself just drifting off. real quality. thank you for bringing this to the world.
Woke early before the sunrise and drank a good cup of coffee and drank deep in my soul with this slide guitar somehow straightened out my mind thank you
Thank you for sharing your musical blessings with the world. You have enriched the human experience. May you and your music reach the hearts of the people who are needing peace, inspiration and purpose. You have given this to me. I wish you a long and full life.
Wonderfully playing, it remembers to me slow dancing in a burning room od John Mayer, am I wrong... in any case compliments, you are play so gently, BRAVO!

If there was ever a video that deserved 100% likes, it'd be this one. It's helped me sleep on numerous occasions and it's just so beautiful to listen to. Thanks, man.
The feel of this music is just unbelievably peaceful... If anyone has a playlist with a similar vibe... I would absolutlty love to find more stuff like this.
This is fantastic playing and very soothing to listen to. I like that is is slow and stays in a dreamy, outer worldly state. The tune down in the middle is genius level.
