P.s. the front harness has a plastic "locking pin" push it out with your middle finger at the same time your bring the handle up

Yep they aren't too bad! If I take them off I usually plan to keep them off for a few days or if I go on a tight offroad trail. Its nice not worrying about scratching the crap out of your doors on a tight trail. Thanks for watching though!
Appreciate this video. Had I not seen it, I could have sworn I missed something because bottom bolt hinge was rusted so badly. For a moment I thought previous owner might have welded it.
But after stopping, coming back and watching again, went back out and needed a 4lb sledge and several curse words to eventually free the bottom hinge pin. (On the plus side, door seemed super light after several previous attempts in which I was attempting to lift the entire vehicle.)

@@4lowmode I have a current issue with my h3 2008 hummer, how do I replace my EMC Electronic Control Module, my electrical has been acting up to the point where my parking lights will not work, and my Onstar comes on when it wants to when it rains the electrical shut down then back on again, when I shut my hummer off the OnStar stays on killing my battery, also as of today it will not turn over, but I have power, the key will turn with full power but nothing happens, I'm told it is my EMC , EED YOUR HELP

Appreciate the time and effort put in to make this video. Build thread online mentions what roof rack mods are done. But it would be aswome if you show exactly how they were done. I remember reading about adding a folding table and that would be perfect as I always toss one in the back when I go shooting. I have a low profile rack on order and would love to do something like that too. Good option for more content.
Yes yes yes! I haven't ever revealed the modification yet because I keep forgetting to, but yes I have modified my roof rack to be able to hold a 5ft plastic table. That will make for a great video! I will add it to the list!

Welcome to the Hummer World! Yeah taking the doors off is a cool little easter egg that not many people knew about, only dedicated enthusiasts. Wanted to share this with more people!
For those looking for mirrors for the doors off hummer, after great trial and error I finally found found ones that fit on Amazon. they are called the Denforste Mirrors Doors Off Compatible. Designed for Jeep wrangler but they fit perfectly into the top hinge and just barely miss the side of the car; the bar bends perfectly. they cost like $30. I use them and make driving doors-off far more comfortable and safe

Is it possible to put a h3 5 cylinders 09-10 front differential to a H3t alpha ?
I have a hummer H3T alpha 2010 and my front differential doesn’t work any more, what can I do to fix my problem? I tried on looking for all the parts of the differential and fix it but I couldn’t find all of them , and I was looking to put a front differential from a H3 5 cylinders but i don’t know if that’s possible, what can I do in my case?

I am wondering if you can modify the speakers to go in the top front dash and possible somewhere in the rear to get sound with the doors off. I have a nice stereo system but definitely want to take the doors off.
That is definitely a possibility I have seen people upgraded those 2 front tweeter speakers in the front the before

To remove the doors so I can easily Unscrew the hinges bolts before putting the New door Hinges
And then putting back the doors , especially front doors ?
Yes when you got to take off the doors, you split the hinge in half. Half of it is mounted to the body of the H3 and the other half is mounted on the door. This makes it really easy to unscrew the bolts without having to worry about the doors falling on you or anything. Much safer this way for sure!

Have you ever had any issues with the doors not lining up right when you close them? Like the pins in the hinges are wearing out? Just curious if I'm the only one that's having that issue. Driver door only of course. Have you ever replaced the bushings on the door hinge pins or the pins themselves? If yes, did you do it while the door was off the truck? Only reason I'm asking is because the door weather strip has torn on my truck's driver side door and I look at the door when its closed and its almost leaning backward a little bit, so I'm thinking hinge pins are the culprit.

So what roof rack is that? Great looking truck!
It is a Gobi Stealth Roof Rack With Sunroof Cut Out! Arguably one of the best racks made for the H3. It covers the entire span of the roof, and as the name suggests you can remove the part of it that covers the sunroof.
I read in the owner’s manual that it is not supposed to run on ethanol blended gas. I drove to a Bucees today in Denton Tx that has 93 octane zero ethanol. Seemed to run a bit smoother.

The bumper is made by Road Armor. They don't have it on their Road Armor website, but maybe if you call and ask about it, they can make it for you.

I would like to do this but is it illegal? Since the side mirrors are coming off with the front doors? Also, do the speaker harnesses get damaged when it rains since they're like free-dangling from the car?
Honestly it depends on which state or country you are living in. Every jurisdiction has their own rules on this. Thats why I did not speak about the legalities of this. What I would recommend doing is check your local laws. If you cannot find anything on the matter, go ahead look ahead and look on some jeep forums to see what people are saying. For example google "Jeep Doors Off Legal in Florida" and see what comes up. Here in Illinois the only thing required by law is a rearview mirror. I have driven right past state troopers in local police officers and none of them gave me in trouble. Also just put some tape over the electrical harness. Hope this helps!

You can find them on Amazon. The only thing is you can only get knock off versions now. The original snorkel design you could get was from ARB and was called the "Safari Snorkel" but they stopped selling them. That being said, the knock of versions should be just as good. However, the ones that you can buy now are made for 2008-2010 H3s with a square filter instead of the original cylinder shape that came on the 2006s and 2007s. That being said, you can still get them to fit with some modification. What CB are you using?
I am running regular old Cobra classic 29 ltd! Works really good. I did drill into the dash to mount it, but I don't really mind because my interior isn't that pristine
My drivers back door is stuck closed i think the power actuator is broke how do i get the door off with out opening it????
Did you get the door open; I would guess that a Slim Jim to open the lock, but it might come down to taking the rear seat out and getting to the door innards might be a way to get it open, else the proper use of C4 would do the job (according to my USMC friends tell me. In the USN we just use a big hammer and whack it until it opened.)
How do you take the roof off like in a Jeep
With a sawzall. Realistically I don't care much for a removable top because I like having the functionality full roof rack on my H3. I know you still can get a full roof rack for your Jeep, but now its become even harder to remove the top. I don't want to spend 2 hours stripping a Jeep down if it is only for the weekend.
How reliable are the H3 hummers? Any years to avoid?
In my experience they have been really reliable! Just normal maintenance really. Here are a few pointers though:
- You can get a I5 H3 or 5.3L V8 version. I would really recommend going with V8 if you want to modify it, add bigger tires, and overall have more power. Many H3 owners regret buying the i5 and wish they would have gotten the V8 version. Engine swaps are too expensive. They can cost 15k to upgrade a I5 to a V8. Of course expect lower mpg with the V8.
- The 2006 version came with a 3.5L H3 which only makes 220HP. From 2007-2010 GM upgraded the engine to a 3.7L which made 242HP. So I would go with a 2007+ year for a little more power. I have driven both a 3.5L and a 3.7L and there is not too much of a difference tho.
- If you want to go offroad and do some harder terrain, I would buy a H3 with this factory option called the "Adventure Package" I have a video on my channel about it.
- Watch for High mileage H3s. The I5 engine will usually go out and will need to be replaced anywhere between 160k to 200k miles. The V8 version can last up to 300k-350k but you will probably need to rebuild the transmission and replace driveline components around 150K+
@@Paragonghost have you upgraded the plastic shift fork yet? My dad broke his 07s aluminium shift fork so I figured the plastic ones would be fairly easy to break.
@@Paragonghost luckily that's another issue my dad's h3 had, he said there's a crosshair inside the windshield pillars( I believe there called A pillars) that catch leaves and junk, basicly cut out said crosshairs and you should be good.

@@inOZ8434 It is possible at 160K if necessary maintenance is not done. Also it is possible to have a I5 H3 go up to 240K if you keep up with great maintenance. But yeah, I would not reccomend buying an I5 H3 over 200K miles.

Yes I do! I have a couple things that raise my truck up higher: 1.) Rancho 4in Lift Kit 2.) Daystar 1in Body Lift 3.) Extended Leaf Spring Shackles 4.) T Bar Crank 5.) 38in tires (Adds 2.25 inches over stock tires)
@@4lowmode how about your control arms? Did you have to modify them in any way? I know if you go too high the cv axles will reach their limit. Sorry to ask all these questions but I also have a H3 and want to install a lift.
@@HoustonTexxas I did not have to modify the upper control arms. That being said, the tires did rub against the upper control arms when I did not have a wheel spacer on. For that reason I went with a 1.25in BORA Hubcentric wheel spacer. The Rancho and Daystar Body lift does not affect CV angles. However, cranking up the T-Bars will. If you do a T-Bar crank, make sure to not go too high or your CVs will wear out faster. The max height you should do is 23.5 inches. That measurement is taken from the middle of the hub and the lip of the fender flare.

Are you sure the doors are plugged in properly? Double check to make sure each door is plugged correctly. Especially the driver door. If that is not plugged in correctly none of the locks will work. Make sure these is no dust in the plugs and none of the pins are bent. Also check your fuses.

Oh heck ya! Its a secret easter egg that gm never told anyone. Do the H1 doors come off easy? It would seem like they would.
@@4lowmode Sadly not unless you have a HMMWV where they have the pin to remove. The 92 and 93 trucks are easier to remove the doors on because they don't have the harness that you would have to cut. But, all other years have the doors riveted. There are a number of open top guys that have removed their doors and they look outstanding. I've seen a couple wagons do it and I've thought about it myself, but I think I'll just look at a HMMWV in the future. So yes, you can remove them on the H1s, but it's a big job.
@@HumveeLifeUSA Dam really? I would think that exposed hinge design would make it easy just to pop it off like on the wranglers. Can you replace the hinges to something where you can remove them or would that be too hard since it is riveted?
the question is: why?
It is mainly for use offroad. Being able to lean outside of the door to see where you are planting your front tire is extremely helpful when navigating difficult terrain. Also since, you don't have the doors on, you don't need to worry about scratching and pin striping the paint on your doors.
The envy is hard with jeeps
If you have been around the offroad scene long enough you would know that everyone takes their doors off for harder offroad stuff. That includes Toyota, Chevy, etc.
If you need someone to show you this you probably shouldnt touch the truck

Why the hell would you want to take the doors off your Hummer?
Taking the doors off is extremely useful when going offroad. You can see A LOT more of the terrain around you and it helps you to get a better line. Also you don't have to worry about scratching or denting your doors offroad.

It does fit perfectly tho. Just because a manufacturer intends a product for one application doesn't mean you cannot adapt it to something else.
