Please read! I do want to clarify one small thing that was in the original directions that I did not mention in the video. In the video when I said to only loosen and unbolt one side of the body mount bolts at a time which is true; however, the original directions say to slightly loosen the other side that you are not lifting up with the jack. That does not mean remove them, that means slightly loosen them. However, doing this does make it possible for body to become slightly misaligned which could lead to issues putting the bolts back in which I did not mention it. However by not loosening them, you could hypothetically be putting unnecessary stress on body. When I installed the body lift on the H3 video featured in the video and my own H3 I did not loosen the other side and nothing was negativity affected. Just wanted to be transparent about this. It is your call if you want to slightly loosen the other side. Let me know if you guys have any questions about this!
Just put the body lift on today. I did not loosen the the bolts and there was no issues. Kept my body straight on the frame. Thanks for the video. It saved me time and money!
@@heatwave5766 Yes my woman noticed a difference. She's sitting on 35s wrapped on 12 inch wide 20s. Maybe 14 inch wide. She had some rubbing issues at full turn while in reverse. Now she has no rubbing issues
I really appreciate the quality and detail in your videos! It’s rare to see a channel with low subs have this quality of videos! I really hope your channel grows because you deserve it man! Very informative videos! Keep it up man!
Thank you! Yeah unfortunately there is not a lot of videos out there on the H3 and most information can only be learn through browsing forums. I want to try to make it easier for new H3 owners to build up their rigs!
I don't often comment on vids but i had to drop a message on this one. GREAT job at not only documenting the process but also breaking it down. The time and attention to detail is exemplary. The color coded component breakdown is very well done and extremely helpful. Wish more videos were edited in this way. Again, GREAT WORK!
This is a comment about all your videos, not only about this one. Thanks for all the details and the accurate information you bring to all your videos, with very detailed explanations. I appreciate all the effort you bring in filming and editing this videos to be very clear to all of us…….thanks again, I appreciate all the effort.
Absolutely one of the best instructional videos I have ever seen on TH-cam. Astoundingly professional in every way. Thank you for the time, thought and energy you put into this. Now I have the confidence to install this on my H3T with 35's
Glad you found it useful! Haha all the work is in the editing. Only took a couple hours to install the kit even with me filming it. But to get everything how I wanted it to look and present it took me the longest.
Definitely as an h3 owner I really appreciate these videos I realize that you put an incredible amount of time and effort into them you definitely have the best h3 vids out there
Thank you! I have been playing with around with a 360 camera and it is allowing me to get a bunch of shots that would be impossible with any other camera!
I really like your videos. I learn those little things that were mysteries to me. A radiator and electric fan upgrade would be a nice project for your followers living in the Southwest.
Hey man, just wanted to say thank you for all the hard work and time you invest in all of these videos for us H3 owners. Honestly I had no idea it took that much time making these videos, so that helps put things in perspective for us. There's not a million people out there making the H3 vids like there are for jeep owners. Keep it up and It looks great in the videos I've seen you wheeling it in. 👍
Thanks! Its really not that hard when you get the concept! The first time you do stuff like this it can be intimidating if you just have written instructions that aren't that detailed! I am glad this video helped!
Yep! Right now we don't have many options for Lifts in the H3 Community, so I thought it would be really important to cover the 1.25" Body lift which is easy and affordable. When I first got into H3s I understood what the Rancho Lift was, but wasn't really sure what a Body Lift was and if it could help. I really want to try to demystify the concept of it and make H3 owners confident enough to do it themselves.
Love the video. I watched it while installing mine tonight. The front bolt on each side was the biggest headache getting the old bolt out of the bushing. Used the blue tipped wrench to get the bolts loose from the sleeve
Great details, camera angles, voice over, animations... Holy crap I don't even own an H3 but your video was so well done that I watched it anyway LOL. Great looking H3 you have there.
Wow I was watching this video and realized I commented on it 2 yrs ago before I bought my h3. I’ve had mine now for 55k miles over past 2 years and love it. Your videos have been a real gem. I’ve done lift keys front, lift shackles rear, big roof rack, Gobi ladder, and 33’s. Now I just ordered a diff drop kit so I can adjust my keys beyond the 23.5” range. Super stoked for that, new product. I’ll likely do the body lift as well before I change out to the 35’s. Only complaint I’ve had so far is the underpowered 3.7 and the 4l60e trans is less than desired. All and all these are awesome trucks. Thanks again for all the awesome work you do putting these videos out for the community!
Thank you for the how to and before and after. Your details will help me when I do mine. 2008 H3 I bought two months ago and absolutely love. Thanks Again!
Excellent video, thanks. I like the details and effort you have in your content. No gimmicks, no baiting, just good information and detail. Again thanks.
You need to start a class on how to do videos. You are very professional and very to the point. In the military, you would get an outstanding grade. Keep it up. By the way, the length didn't bother me because you made it worthwhile.
Thank you so much! A lot of time does go into the editing process! I do make make multiple revisions to the editing and really ask myself what footage is needed and what can be skipped over. That is partially why these videos take so long to make. Currently working a new video that is close to being finished. So far there has been 8 filming days and a couple of editing weekends. Working hard to get it out!
Everything about your videos is superb. keep putting them out. From explanations to the demonstrations to the editing is perfect. I have recently purchased an H3 I5 and have scoured youtube for how to videos and yours are by far the best. Would like to see more on regular maintenance and DIY mods internal and external. Once again GREAT JOB and keep it up.
Great job on the vid. I used to be heavily against body lifts because they don't actually raise the bottom of the truck. However after doing a couple of lifts on different 4x4s I am finding that a suspension lift can eat up travel on many applications. So when thumbing down a body lift some people may want to consider what a suspension lift will do to their down travel.
Great video! Your voiceover and editing are amazing. Enjoyed watching the entire video alot! I have a black I5 so this is great to see what it would look like.

Please do, we need more H3 how to videos. There are so few on here, it's hard to find the ones ya might need when you encounter a problem. Good luck with your lift.
What are the biggest tires that can be put on the H3 (but not necessarily for purposes of offroading) but for an authentic Offroading Look? And what kind of lift kit does it require? Thanx!
Hello, let me say, great video. Probably one of the best informational - how to videos on TH-cam. And, especially on the H3. I'm glad I found you 😉. There is definitely a lack of h3 how to videos.. I subscribed. Ya made it look easy, but I know those bolts and nuts need some persuasion. The H3 in the video looks amazing , I really should take mine to the next level....get it.... Any frame issues on the ones ya worked on ~ I see some cracking on my upper passenger shackle and frame area..? i do live in a rust belt area.... I've had my h3 for 12years and it's been good except for the intermittent engine rough idle and rough around 1500-2000rpm. And brakes lots of replacements. It's really comfortable and feels pretty solid on the road. Honestly, I don't off-road it - some trail stuff. There is no suspension flex. They really should have come out with an updated model with coils. I've a tj w/4" & 35's..the flex on that is nice, H3 - not so nice. But the H3 is way more solid driving. Anyways, great video, thanks for taking the time , people will watch this in years to come. Roll safe
Thank you so much! In terms of frame issues, I haven't heard of that many instances of people having problems with their frame cracking, breaking, bending, etc. I myself have worked on 4 different H3s and none of them exhibited serious structural frame damage. Of course like all other vehicles, the frame can get some rust on it if you live in the rust belt, but I haven't come across anything concerning yet.
Yes there might be other things you need to do such as extending the steering shaft to make this work. The company that made this 1.25in kit determined that 1.25 inches is about as high as you can go without having to do extra work. That being said, you can definitely do it. I am not sure everything you need to do, but go ahead and reach out to a guy named "H3duramax" on Instagram or TH-cam. He installed a custom 3in body lift on his H3 in order to fit a duramax engine into his H3. Hope this helps!
These are awesome videos. Great job providing guidance and information to H3 owners. Have you done any research on various tire options / sizes and how it impact performance? I find all sorts of conflicting information on the internet on what size tires will fit on my stock H3 without modifications and what needs spacers etc. so I would welcome your thoughts. Additionally I would like to run larger tires but I find my H3 is already under-powered for towing and am concerned that the reduced torque with larger tires will make the issue even more noticeable.
if you have time, can you measure distance from center of front hub to the front of fender, top, and rear? im trying to guage where i stand (w/o Rancho) for 37's. currently have 33's with lots of room. I have the body lift, and it looks like my Alpha was cranked up before i got it.
