For sleeping .....to me, nothing works better than an electric blanket. Rather than heating the entire vehicle, it keeps your body warm while you sleep and is adjustable. When I was a student in Milwaukee, my drafty, old apt had ICE on the INSIDE of the window. I couldn't sleep without my electric blanket. They're usually less than $100 and use a LOT less energy than a space heater. Plus they're safer.
That might be good when your in bed.
@@FOASQUAD True, but I'd feel safer when I'm ready to turn in.......And if for some reason you don't have the power or electricity, you still have an extra blanket.....which never hurts. Someone told me that when I was camping.
@@FOASQUAD FYI, they have a rechargeable sleeping bag liner that heats up, you can put it on your bed. BUT I would need a heater for when you are outside of your bed, plus the air get's soooo cold it gets hard to breath.
I love electric blankets but after I wash the blanket it never works again. So I stick to my little space heater.
They also make heated mattress pads which are nice. That may work better with those thick wool blankets.

Ahhh...just got home. Very long day, it was pouring rain and freezing cold, I was soaked and cold...then I come home and there's a video from Anthony to warm the heart. All good now.

I’ve been living in my car in the Northeast for the last few months and let me tell you….have you ever been so cold that it wakes you up from your sleep? 😆😂 the last few nights have been BAD. Two nights ago it dropped down to 27. Tomorrow night its dropping to 21. I have a weighted blanket + two other light blankets. When it was at its coldest I threw on my down jacket that goes to my ankles and it helped tremendously. Still, I should probably invest in proper gear. I always thought of myself to be a person that prefers the winter over summer but I’m starting to think otherwise. I guess winter seems more tolerable when you’re not in the elements 24/7. For me, at-least! 😝I’m going to head to Miami for Art Basel on Dec 1st and maybe travel around for a bit. I know January is going to be rough. The idea of being in my car during snow storms terrifies me.

Go buy some thermals and wear 3 or 4 pairs of socks underneath some jogging clothes with a ski cap, scarf and gloves set. It's about to be a cold winter 😩

@@butterflygirl9516 all great options. Adding them to my list now. My extremities always get SO cold. Especially my feet.
I’ve seen a video that Mother Nature wore an adult onesie with a hoodie attached, scarf and clothing under it to help keep her warm. That maybe a good addition with the thermals from another suggestion on your post. Be safe keep warm.

That heater is going to be warmer than you think in a small area like the van .. it will do a great job

Having a wool blanket on your mattress, under your fitted sheet also helps to keep you warm.

Here's a helpful tidbit....so you won't be surprised as to the size of things that you order, look on the description part of the item you want. They usually provide dimensions. Then you'll know if something is going to be too small, too big, or just right! Have a good week.

Good morning Anthony ( it's morning as I am watching your video.) I don't think I myself is ready for the cold weather anytime. But I do like the idea of wool blankets they can be nice and warm. When my Mom was little and lived on the farm they slept in unheated bedrooms and they had quilts and wool blankets. She said they never got cold , but there would be ice on there blankets when they got up. I like the little heater you got , and I was thinking maybe you could fix a place so you can hang it up out of the way. Also I have found that if you set the heater on low all the time you are in the back doing your cooking or what else you need to do , the heat is constant and will still keep you warm. Of course I am telling you stuff you already know. What the heck thanks for listen to a old woman who will never get a chance to do the things you do and see the things you do,thanks for taking us along. I so do enjoy your videos. In an apartment with housing violations and almost no heat that I rented I came to rely on heating pads and an electric blanket. I tried using a space heater but had to find one with low enough wattage that it couldn’t break the circuit due to hundred year old wiring so what I ended up with was not too strong. I think that apartment was a fire waiting to happen! I didn’t move until I got mold sick from water damage. Living in a vehicle is so much better than more “permanent” housing in bad condition. Hi Anthony, Get a tension rod and a thermal curtain and put behind your seats and it will stay nice and toasty with your window covers and the curtain
you could always put the heater on a timer so it turns on once an hour for 15 minutes or, whatever you choose. It would save energy, and keep you from overheating.
I am with you! I don't care for summer. In winter you can add layers. Foot and hand warmers. Stay warm and safe!

Get a 10 or 15 lb weighted blanket. they are great. Due to the heaviness, it will feel like a permanent hug and for some reason it feels warmer. It also holds the other blankets underneath in place when tossing and turning through out the night
The new heater seems like the perfect size for the van.
Anthony that heater will keep you nice and warm. We have that same heater and it kept our 23 foot trailer nice and warm during the time we used it when it snowed in Flagstaff AZ while we were camping. We also sleep in our sleeping bags with the wool blankets on top. And we dressed for the cold weather. You will be fine for the winter weather with all you have. Matter of fact, you probably will have to turn that heater off because you will get too hot, because your van is small. That heater will heat up a 23 foot travel trailer just fine.
Heating pads work great as well.. Im using one now.. put it my chest and stomach.. keeps my whole body warm.. they can b used just chilling watching TV.

I think the sleeping bag, is great to have. You never know, when you might really need it. Check the dimensions before ordering, I'm learning to do that,when ordering.

When I lived in my car, I had a sub-zero mummy sleeping bag, Cuddle Duds undergarments, thermals, wool socks, a good stocking cap and a blanket or two, as well as my cockpit curtain pulled every night and insulated panels in the windows, too. I came across a My Heater golf cart buddy at Menards, dirt cheap in price, and modified it to work the warm up when it got really cold. I only ran it usually a minute of two and my little egg of a vehicle warmed right up. When I would get a hot shower, after the nights of chill, it would sometimes take forever for my feet to warm up, but my biological system adapted to the cold, and my old lady bones became surprisingly adapted to the winter chill. I’m warmed in this moment by my little Pelonis heater, as I watch your video, one that I bought at Lowe’s, a clearance mark down for $3.88, but as you checked your heater to the Jackery, I checked mine, and my Jackery said no way….lol, so, maybe a little one like you first bought, as my car is tiny and easily warmed in the winter. Seems like you got Jack Frost’s number, Anthony, and your number is unlisted to him, thanks to all your gear….lol. Hi Anthony!! It was 31 in the Carolinas. I agree with you. It’s easier to keep warm than it is to cool down in summer time. Summer time it’s 100 degrees and even with 3 fans it’s still hot.
I have a pair of wool socks. I wear my hoodie. I prefer sleeping in a long dress because I don’t want to be so bundled and then randomly awaken and need to pee lol. I had a cotton blanket but I accidentally threw it away this summer. So I have to get one of those wool blankets. Natural fiber blankets really do keep you warm.

It pays to be smart and prepare. You are playing it right. I ended up in 19 degree weather with no electric year before last. And then into the hospital. So prepare....yes do so.

When I was living in my sports car, I said the same. I had no problem keeping warm, lots of blankets and couple comforters . But in summer, in Virginia, arghh. Can't keep windows open, way too many insects, I tried custom screens for my car, they still wiggled underneath. So I'd run the engine for a bit with a on, then use lil fans in between. Keeping cool was very hard

I bought this for my sister's classroom and it keeps her entire room warm so you'll really only need the lowest setting
Anthony get you a black out curtain so you can hang up to separate the front when you are resting hold the heat in the back and a shower rod to hang it
That heater is PERFECT for your vehicle Anthony. I have 3 of those in my house. Don't under estimate the amount of heat that can kick out 🔥😊
he said it uses too much power, he have a battery you have a home wall outlet, dont just throw out comment just to throw out a comment, put yourself in his place first.

Word of advice, hope it helps you out..
When you start off,. Start off with the high temperature. For It shouldn't take that long to heat up the space.
Once it heated up, to your liking, then turn it down to a lower temperature, And that should keep the space warm at least all night long.

That heater will keep you very warm in fact it got to hot at times. I use one in my pop up camper and I has to turn if off at times it got to hot. The walls and windows on you car are great compared to plastic walls on a pop up. My heater that size was great in the camper and that will work great in your van without the window treatments. You should be set! Turn the heater on low right when you get up and when you come back for dinner. I bet you'll never need the top two settings! Such a great set up!!

- The electric heater being used with the Jackery is going to be an interesting experiment because those heaters drain the generators very quickly. I’m looking forward to seeing how it works out for you because I can only get a couple of hours usage even on a full battery when glamp/camping. But we were able to use a heated blanket all night while glamp/camping.

Anthony. Get a LONG extension cord and a surge protector. Then when you park at night. Find somewhere you can hook up the extension. Like a park. And use the electric from that rather than your jackary
You should use a surge protector to plug devices,not to ruin your power sources,glad you will be more comfy warm,this winter is gonna be harsh, 🤗 my friend
Welcome back to PA!!! I use a 12V electric blanket for my winter car camping adventures. I use my ceramic heater when I have hook-ups.

Hello Anthony I just wanted to throw an idea you way, get a carbon monoxide detector because your space is so small and you are using so many gadgets it’s just nit safe to have the heater on in the van with 3 inch window cover’s and if you can open a small window for ventilation. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
