Having someone to come in and clean, is more than a luxury for us. Both my wife and I have arthritis issues that prevent us from some of that deep cleaning
Love this! We share several quiet luxuries and I have some additional ones: flying first class (internationally too) / getting groceries delivered / regular housekeeping service / regularly schedules maintenance (waxing / nails / bi-weekly massages) indulging in my favorite candle / smelling great every day / only buying 18k gold pieces when investing in fine jewelry / paying for a monthly car detailing service / quality skin care since I don’t wear makeup / waking up in a different country on my birthday every year / deluxe Lego builds ❤️
I used to do a monthly massage (every third Sunday at Wat Massage in DC 🔥), adding to my mortgage every month to pay down principal early, owning my own home, being able to afford to buy LV and Bottega shoes on a whim at the mall (just did on Saturday), more than half of my salary going into my retirement account, and still being able to help others including supporting my mom financially every month, tithing at my church. Man. Blessed.
You just hit the mark with every video. It's like you have a finger on the pulse of what your tribe, our tribe is looking for. Ain't nobody on this TH-cam does it quite like you!!!❤❤❤❤
Thanks for expanding on the idea of quiet luxury - I celebrated my birthday about a week ago - I took myself to a boutique hotel in Vancouver and thoroughly enjoyed it - I am a single woman at a big age of 55 with a professional degree that I earned to ensure my current life and retirement future will be luxurious - I am my best investment 🎉 - Cheers
I agree, "lotion" is usually cheap watered down glycerin and water with emulsifiers and other humectants and a tiny amount of nourishing oils. I'm white/Asian but still got dry, not oily skin. So lotion is only the first step. Then oil, then body butter. 😂
I've only made it to 10:15 of this video, and I had to pause and comment. Whatever you're doing, please continue...your glow is superb and your vibe is next level. I absolutely love your perspective on politics, fashion, and life; however, the manner in which you deliver your thoughts, opinions, and rationale are next level. I find myself laughing and at the same time being in awe of your wit, candor, and down to earth vibe. Thank you for your presence on TH-cam.
As a RN, my weekly manicure is a timeout for me! With all the VERY necessary hand washing and Purell gel us- I feel you ash story Sis, and nothing tells the age faster on a woman than dray cracking hands! I get a paraffin manicure weekly and a hand massage, cause yes! I’m worth it
A quiet luxury that deserves honorable mention would be hiring a personal trainer. The changes I see in my body are amazing…. and I love it here! As always, great content Tashira. I know I’m in for a good cackle when watching your videos.
Video Summary! 1. Therapy/Mental Health resources 2. Flying First Class 3. Spa treatments (1-2x/month at a Korean Spa) 4. Microblading Eyebrows 5. Home Cleaning Service (1x/month) 6. Quality Bedding (linen sheets) 7. Quality Undergarments (measurements once a year, shapewear) 8. Body/SkinCare 9. Quality cocktails 10. Home fragrances (bougie candles)
I feel you on everything mentioned in this video. A lux item I love is a good robe and one of my Christmas gifts was a robe from Restoration Hardware. It’s so cosy and warm and takes my self care up a notch. My husband also took it upon himself to research bedding that doesn’t cause night sweats because I was not sleeping well and he bought some bamboo sheets and pillowcases from cosy house and now we’re in the process of switching out all of our bedding to cosy house bamboo sheets. We’ve been putting aside some money every 2 months or so and getting a new set it’s literally life changing.
Ordering an Uber Black vehicle instead of a basic. Something lux about sliding out of a tinted out black SUV no matter where I'm going. Totally with you on the cleaning services. Best money spent every 2 weeks. And First class tickets.
My quiet luxury is buying produce from the farmers market. I grew up having to shop at Save-A-Lot and settling for canned veggies. My husband and I make it a point to buy local produce and fresh flowers weekly.
Hey girl hey! The rich Auntie vibe is strong in this video and I love it. Many of the things on your list are on mine so I am interested in the links to some of your favorites. As for the house cleaning!! That is GOING TO HAPPEN and will not be something I will feel bad about after doing the cleaning since a child (preteen years). The real triumph will be when I set the appointment for the cleaners to come in is to be able to enjoy it being done without the nagging voices in my head of others that I know would not "approve". That is the real thing with "luxury" we often deny ourselves things because others will not "get it" or don't think we "should". NO ONE GETS TO TELL ME WHAT I DESERVE especially when I am PAYING MY OWN BILLS. That is a right of passage that each of us deserve to give to ourselves.
One of my luxuries in my life is my skateboarding lessons. I have been taking lessons for a year. I wanted to learn well and safely. I have grown so strong both mentally and physically, and my Sundays are blocked out so I can spend all day at the skatepark if I wanted to. Phone off. Friends around, or just me. It’s how I recharge for my week!
I adore you Tashara! You are an example of Truth to Power & we truly appreciate & share your viewpoint. Thanks for being a beacon of dope ness ! Keep going Queen
You done done it again! Yes! Writing this from GREECE! The way my finances allow me and my wife to jet set, eat, and be full of joy beats any material thing. Keep being you! Your channel gives all of us LIFE!
I love this so much! I am late to the party but I do partake. Mine are: -Purchasing great quality bedding and furniture for my home -Wellness overall (health, exercise, teeth, nails, therapy on a biweekly basis) -Shopping at the markets that have the niche and delicious foods I love -Taking cooking classes and partaking in cultural food experiences -Getting gas where I like to go and honestly not for the price, same with eggs -Great seats at concerts by myself! :P -Purchasing/taking courses that will enhance my skillset -Eating where I want and when I want but also cooking whatever I please -Treating my niece, nephews and little cousins to what they want/need -Traveling freely, sometimes first class, and staying in the best places -Supporting my signature fragrance and skincare indulgence habits -Extra income to invest and save is a real treat honestly!
I love your classification on quiet luxury. I love traveling, good food and good liquor. I also like staying at a good hotel even when I am visiting family.
a lot of the things you name are luxury items for me as well. 1. Therapy / Mental Health services- i’ve been seeing my therapist nearly 1 year and have seen the improvement in my life by her consistent encouragement. i also, ensure i constantly read to level up my mental. i am big on self help books and read on areas i desire to grow in (ex. parenting, financial, healthy eating, cleaning, gardening, etc. ) 2. Massages/ Facials 3. quality scent/ perfumes 4. Travel 5. Afternoon lunch dates/ brunch with girlfriends 6. investing in myself (working out, eating better, reading, and taking courses) 7. taking much needed breaks 8. quality fabrics (linen, cotton, leather, and silks) Brands don’t really matter i just like quality pieces 9. keep fresh flowers in my home (weekly)
Microblading/shading, spa treatments, taking naps when I want to, eating at the best restaurants, upgrading my flights & taking trips to places I've never been...all the quiet luxury things I do for myself. best money I spend...ever.
Oh my Goodness 😂I absolutely loved this Vlog!!! My Big Mama raised me, so I get the waking up with the chickens: And you better not leave a dish unwashed in the sink! I shared your content with my eldest daughter! You know your children think you’re exaggerating! Blessings and mercy upon you! 🙏🏾❤️
I know I am late to this video. But I would say that as someone who just turned 40 this year, and trying to re-prioritize some things in my life, my top three luxuries are: 1) Quality kitchen appliances (like a Vitamix, Nama Juicer, Nespresso, etc.). Very pricey but worth every penny and will also help you to save some coin. 2) Same with cookwear. I recently replaced my old pots and pans that I had since college with some quality stainless steel. Best decision ever. 3) Skincare (Anything anti- aging) Great video sis.🙂
I felt that Saturday morning routine in my BONES!!! And tell the truth and shame the devil about that refrain on sleeping too much! I was raised in Mississippi and any child who slept past 8:00 had to be pregnant! 😊
I was raised I'm Arkansas!! Facts. This was the #1 reason I left home for college. Cleaning is not my ministry! I love relaxing on a Saturday, period. 😂
I found your channel from your other quiet luxury video and I'm so happy that I found you. We travel the world full-time and my goal is to do it in first-class chall. These long haul flights in economy be wearing us AWT! My quiet luxuries are: - Traveling the world full-time - Eating goodT food out - Staying in accommodations that check off all the important things on my wish list - Going to cafés frequently - Living a life of leisure and working anywhere from 5-20 hours per week - Investing in good bras because I am WELL endowed - Choosing clients that align with my values
Ooh, I love the idea of splurging on a professional deep clean. Does it sound weird though that I'm kinda too embarrassed to think of someone doing a deep clean for me before I clean up a bit which....I think defeats the whole purpose sooo....🤔
This is the thing I love about Tashara...first off..she's a whole friend in my head. When I'm out shopping and I pick up something "cuteish" ..I look up and go "is this cute??" Is she there?no. In my head is she there?Yes!!!!😂😂 And answered me!! Lolol! She allows us to live in our own luxury without apology. And this is what brings me back to every video🥰🙌🏾 When I tell people that yes I spend $50+ on Spenco or Vionic orthopedic flip flops ( I hear y'all giggling 😆 😂stop laughing) that's cause these size 10wide high arch dogs need the utmost support they can have. I will not settle for less. My shoes must be comfortable! It's a priceless luxury for me. Thank you for allowing this space to treat ourselves how we want to be treated.❤️
OMG, you are such a kindred spirit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am embarking on a massive life change due to a divorce because of addiction and mental health:( Suffice to say, he was the bread winner and now I am a single mother of two. I likely won't ever have his income but the other day I pulled out the agenda and was like " I need my little life luxuries, so how do I afford them?" Almost all of them (except the first class tickets lol! One day!) was on your list. Have a fantastic day! Hugs from Toronto, Canada.
Hello from California…. Om-gosh, everything you said about black families , traditions, and theories are probably the same on this entire planet, 😅😂.. love all your luxury recommendations…….
I loved this video! It really got me thinking about the ways I am nice to myself- for now, I swear by my 20+ year meditation practice and making my own facial and natural hair products with premium herbs and oils...will definitely try the first-class travel hack you recommended...and lest I forget working from home is the quiet luxury I appreciate the most- when my law firm gig went remote in 2020 I said to myself I will do everything in my power to make this permanent- NEVER going to have a morning commute ever again!
I know what you mean Queen about our old school moms , education and cleanliness were absolutely important in the household. My mother use to wake us up at 6am to clean up the house. Now, that was quiet luxury to them and making sure we have clothes on our backs wearing second hand clothing. Quiet luxury is different as of today.
Hey girl, hey!! First Class is really a privilege for me, but am having it to the list. We need to give ourselves everything that our little hearts desire. For me they are necessities and part of life. God bless you and us.🎉
I thought that you were kidding about drinking out of a rocket ship. 😂 But a well constructed cocktail is definitely a vibe. I loved this follow-up discussion on quiet luxury, you get it.
Only 2min in and I love it. Appreciate this different view. It's a yes for me, sis! My quiet luxuries include: - Investing in eating as many low inflammation, whole foods / organic foods as possible - Switching to sugaring instead of regular waxing to protect/prolong my skin health - Doing a massage monthly as a way to reset (purchasing a spa membership or monthly massage package makes it more affordable) - Gradually transforming my home into a smart home specifically focused on helping me stay in flow/maintain a routine that works well with my natural thought process (promotes convenience and wellness)
The therapy, The Microblading, all of it I am hear for. I got my Microblading done in the DR was 250, and amazing. I been hunting for an option in the US. But it was so good i may go back.
I had to get up and clean ( and you could not complain)every Saturday and I am from the Caribbean and we were washing by hand because there was no washing machine when I was a child.
Yes quiet luxury to me is: good towels and throws for the sofa, personal trainer 3x a week, bi weekly hair/nails, whole body laser hair removal, microblading, monthly acupuncture, tailoring my clothes, high end skincare, quarterly hydrafacials and yearly chemical peels. I have a whole budget item for self care. Another quiet luxury for me is setting boundaries in my personal life and professional life.
I agree with the flying first class. Unfortunately, now with the seats what they are, I have to have it. Thanks for the hack though. One extra tip, if you haven't used the Delta Club lounge. Some nice man got me in because I had a long layover. Girl!!!! It is another level. I don't have any hacks to get in but well worth it. I almost missed my flight because I was sitting with a free drink and free food and air conditioning.
I talked myself out of the luxury of upgrading to first class while waiting to board a flight to Florida. Never again! You've convinced me to just go for it.
It's truly luxurious to treat yourself well and enjoy your everyday life. When my husband and I retired, we decided to spend our money on experiences, not things. Now, I'm not saying that an experience might not include expensive high thread count sheets, but seriously, that's a daily improvement to our lives. I've also started setting the table with fine china everyday even though I have to hand wash it. Dining in becomes a luxury. We are fortunate to be able to afford having our house professionally cleaned every two weeks. You are so right about the difference a pro makes. Our house is always clean, but after out cleaning lady has been here, it sparkles. Glad I found your channel. You have your priorities right for you.
You gave me some great ideas. Girl, I was taking notes!😂 I am also a 3rd generation breast cancer survivor x2 and just wanted to say continued blessings to you❤
This is a great list! Paying for a housekeeper, buying niche perfume, and fine jewelry has been some of my favorite ways to invest in myself. Also, paying for valet everywhere it’s available because one thing ima do is pay for convenience 😂
Whew! I agree. Linen bedding has changed my life. Luxury to me is not having to buy the cheapest of everything. Oh, and not looking at prices at the grocery store.
First-class tickets all the way... always! I explain this to people all the time. We deserve. It's all about how you treat yourself. Even work paid trips, I do my own upgrade.
Hey Queen! For me, I love the luxury of using essential oils for my skin, for scentuality, for health and beauty, as well as gently curing ailments of all sorts. I will read my reference books on essential oils and dive into learning all that any particular plant, flower or herb can cure and beautify. The entire experience - reading about essential oil uses, sourcing the oils, then using them for my health and beauty is my version of quiet luxury! Thanks for this wonderful video! BTW, I've researched OUD essential oil and I found a women business owner who deals with OUD! I will purchase the real deal one day!
I’m just lucky enough to have a partner who works at an airline, so having to travel for free truly is a luxury ❤ it truly makes me happy to be able to travel by myself or even fly with my partner monthly, or even just fly out on a weekend just because. Also be warned on parachute, it may be a nice looking linens but based on my experience Hotel Collection is a lot better IMO.
Love Spa World!! Always go on a Groupon. I respect a good mixologist. Now I am at a stage in my life where I can afford luxury & the “nicer things in life”… as they say. I will pay for that nice hotel, fine dining, the spa. You have a really good list sis.
OMGGGG! I am literally Journaling everything I wanna discuss with my therapist as I am listening to you & paused the video right away with my jaw dropped. I called a few hours ago to set up my virtual appointment. It is super crazy how when I'm going through something, thinking of something, or doing something etc & GOD or the universe will bring it right back to me in some form! 🤯🤯🤯🤯 mind blowing!
Yep, I agree. It comes down to how we choose to spend our (hard-earned) money. As for first class, it's great as well as business class. And premium economy class is also really good. I'm in my 60s and flew plenty of economy class for decades, starting as a teen on annual solo overseas vacations. I'm usually on long flights to all of the continents. I try to go for premium economy class as it's a separate section and the configuration in seating is 2-4-2. And the service is really good and there's plenty of free champagne. But, then again, I fly Singapore Air to Asia and Asian airlines, for the most part, are the best as far as I'm concerned. I've been flying them for over 2 decades. But, when I'm flying to other continents, I try to search out an airline that also has premium economy class. Then, the money saved can go on 4 and 5 star hotels. As far as Singapore Air, I save up my frequent flyer miles and then use them to fly in either first class or business class within Asia, like when I left half of my luggage at my hotel in Singapore and informed the staff that I would be flying to Jakarta for a 3-night get away and would be staying at the same hotel there that I was staying at in Singapore. Then, the Singapore hotel staff contacted the Jakarta hotel to inform them of my arrival and a hotel car and luggage handler arrived to find my luggage, collect it, and carry it to the private hotel-sent car. I arrived very relaxed to my Jakarta hotel. Priceless. And when I got back to Singapore, the staff had put the luggage that I had left there, in my room. So, when I walked in, all was already set up, and I only had the one suitcase on me from the Jakarta get away. Make one's life easier as it relieves stress. And I usually get great service overseas and it helps to travel solo. When in Japan, I send my luggage on the Yamato luggage service from one city to the next. It doesn't cost that much. When I left Kyoto, I left with only a carry on bag as I had the hotel send my luggage on to Tokyo. When I arrived to Tokyo, my luggage was sitting in my Tokyo hotel room. And I go to Japan in the hot summers, but arrived to my Tokyo hotel without even breaking a sweat. No schlepping luggage. After all, it's a vacation and I'm usually away 3-6 weeks straight on each solo Asian vacation and different amounts of weeks to other continents. Simplify one's life. And when going from Tokyo to Kyoto, the hotel staff walks with me and my luggage to the train station and walks me to the Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto. The hotel staff puts my luggage on the train, stands outside and waits for the train to leave, and then waves goodbye. Stress free. My regular hotel is a 5-10-minute walk to the main train station. As for sheets, I'm one for high quality sheets and they're all either 100% cotton or 100% linen and the linen ones I get from Linoto dot com, owned by a Brother who got tired of not being able to easily find linen sheets here in the U.S. So, after he got out of design school, he created his own company, but sources the linen from Europe. He's a small business. A few years ago, he called me on the phone when orders were really backed up due to the start of the pandemic and the linen was on lockdown un Europe. Nice guy. He's located in NY state. Greetings from Los Angeles
Loved this video. I remember going to an all woman's Dosho in Chicago called "1000 Waves." The women Sensei's taught martial arts and self defense classes and there was a spa in the back. I loved going there just to relax. ($5 a visit) That was luxury to me.
1. Not the long line bra🫢😂🤣 grannies be true to it☺️ But the bedding.. I agree, sleeping on good quality, bedding is.a.must. I actually stopped dating someone due to the fact that his bed was (un) graced with micro-fiber. I tried to explain to him that it didn't matter if they were manufactured by "Cole Haan" 🤨 anyway, my most recent treat is a set of pure linen sheets and they are so yummy that my new man is not worthy😏
Love this video! I just got on the house cleaner game about 3 months ago!!! It has literally improved my mental health!! Twice a month the ladies come on Wednesdays and make my entire world to come home to a clean house that I didn’t clean!!!
OK, this video was for the GROWN folk! I love it. The cleaning on Saturday almost took me out because my grandma didn’t play bout making them twin beds 😂 Also part of the #skincarecult strong 💪🏾 I think nice dishware and silverware is a luxury for me! I will buy bougie bowls and cups in a minute 😆 Thank you for sharing this perspective and keep this content coming! ❤
I have hot flashes so bedding is very important right now. If it isn’t cotton, linen or bamboo, I don’t want it. I also love a good candle. It’s been Voluspa, but Im looking for a new brand. Ingredients are important, though, no lead no paraffin.
EXCELLENT Commentary!💖You always look classy & stunning whatever you choose to wear! Love it! 💖My personal take: On some days I choose to "quietly whisper" & other days I choose to "tastefully display" my logos!💖 My money, my choice! Love it! 💖 Peace & Blessings!💖
I feel the same way about all of these subjects. You can feel good about supporting José Andrés. He is a humanitarian who started World Central Kitchen during the 2010 Haiti earthquakes. His food is great but his spirit is better. I always try to support his restaurants when I travel.
Absolutely essential video! Everything you mentioned, I was nodding, yes, yes, yes! - especially the house cleaning, luxury bedding, body washes (and creams) and first class traveling. For me, I also treat myself on purchasing the best coffees and teas and make sure I'm sipping in the most comfortable spaces in my sanctuary (my home).
Loved this. Hello from the UK. I wholeheartedly agree with everything on your list except first class - I’m not with you there. And I might add foodie stuff to this because that’s my thing. Best candles - if you don’t know this brand, you need to - the best candles - CIRE TRUDON. Very old French brand (1643) . I have Dada and Madeleine at the mo and they last an age and smell extraordinary. There’s lots to choose from.
Yes Yes Yes Luxury in how you live! Set the tone by treating yourself the best way you can as YOU DESERVE THAT! LOL I never changed my brows. I feel you though, I had to help my mom put brows back on. Home cleaning absolutely. Get in the professionals in for that. I've switched to linen sheets and will never go back. I get mine from Quince. They have a great prices. Death to underwire. Undergarments are wholly important and the best fit and materials are necessary. I also feel you on the ash. I never realised how dried out I was... "you go to starbucks everyday" LOL BURN. You should have scored some good oud in Morocco. I lurk Etsy for candles. I've got some excellent ones at good prices.
This was a great Vlog. I love how strategic you are in your purchases and why. I work for an airline and purchase tickets although I fly for free😂 BUT I want my upgrade to FIRST or business! It took time to get the status I have after 19 years of flying but I started this journey in the beginning of my career so when you work hard, you should play harder!! And I DO!😂😂 All the luxury and self care are a huge must. I didn’t realize therapy was a form of self care as I do chiropractic care due-to how strenuous my job is but I feel fantastic afterwards! Hunty everything is better! I can see, hear, taste and smell things better, I’m effective, I have clarity, energy, and I can get through the rest of the month feeling fantastic! Thank you for this! I am so happy to be following you.
I'm straight up screaming with you talking about the 90s brows because I was telling my daughter about it maybe a month ago. I had an uncle fresh out of jail hooking me and my bestie up for free. You couldn't tell us nothing at all!!!😂😂😂
My quiet luxuries are:
1. investing in healthcare, quarterly medical wellness check, semi annual teeth cleaning, quality food and stretching
2. Financial peace, knowing that I am financially secured to remove myself from any situation
3. Getting my nails done every two weeks
4. Investing in quality over quantity
Excellent video

My type of chick 😂 when can WE hang out? 😂😂
I love this for you & us !
Having someone to come in and clean, is more than a luxury for us. Both my wife and I have arthritis issues that prevent us from some of that deep cleaning

Yes you are👏👏👏👏👏
Facts🌟🌟🌟

I personally feel like lotion isn't made for ppl of Color we need body butters/creams and then seal it with body oils.
Facts👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
I agree, "lotion" is usually cheap watered down glycerin and water with emulsifiers and other humectants and a tiny amount of nourishing oils. I'm white/Asian but still got dry, not oily skin. So lotion is only the first step. Then oil, then body butter. 😂
I agree!
It can do for summer and that is how I stretch my expensive or hard to get body creams that I cannot do without when the weather changes.
Omg I thought I was the only person that felt this way. I can’t stand lotion and seriously only use oils and butters.
"Put the family in the back of the plane" ....LOL .. I hollered!!!!

As always, great content Tashira. I know I’m in for a good cackle when watching your videos.
Yes ma’am! I hired one and I show up 3 to 4 days a week. It’s everything I never knew I needed ❤️
@@forburlena1720 yes girl! Not only do I look better, but I feel better, too.
Listen! Having my home cleaned professionally is the BEST luxury!
My 75 year old self Loves your videos! You make me smile and I totally agree with your point of view😊

Ohhhhh Cozy House is a wonderful treat!
I started giggling at the same time that you did with that Rosa parks comment. 😂😂😂 Lemme continue watching…
Ordering an Uber Black vehicle instead of a basic. Something lux about sliding out of a tinted out black SUV no matter where I'm going. Totally with you on the cleaning services. Best money spent every 2 weeks. And First class tickets.

Indeed, the adult beverage, no over the counter spirits or well standards. Living well, love it. Our home beverages are top tier.
My favorite candles at the moment are the boy smells candles! They last forever, smell amazing, and don’t give you a headache.
I love this so much! I am late to the party but I do partake. Mine are:
-Purchasing great quality bedding and furniture for my home
-Wellness overall (health, exercise, teeth, nails, therapy on a biweekly basis)
-Shopping at the markets that have the niche and delicious foods I love
-Taking cooking classes and partaking in cultural food experiences
-Getting gas where I like to go and honestly not for the price, same with eggs
-Great seats at concerts by myself! :P
-Purchasing/taking courses that will enhance my skillset
-Eating where I want and when I want but also cooking whatever I please
-Treating my niece, nephews and little cousins to what they want/need
-Traveling freely, sometimes first class, and staying in the best places
-Supporting my signature fragrance and skincare indulgence habits
-Extra income to invest and save is a real treat honestly!
I love your classification on quiet luxury. I love traveling, good food and good liquor. I also like staying at a good hotel even when I am visiting family.
You are hilarious. I truly enjoy your videos! "First-class shoulder" 😂 "You be the Rosa Parks...let the family sit in the back" 😂🙌🏾
a lot of the things you name are luxury items for me as well.
1. Therapy / Mental Health services- i’ve been seeing my therapist nearly 1 year and have seen the improvement in my life by her consistent encouragement. i also, ensure i constantly read to level up my mental. i am big on self help books and read on areas i desire to grow in (ex. parenting, financial, healthy eating, cleaning, gardening, etc. )
2. Massages/ Facials
3. quality scent/ perfumes
4. Travel
5. Afternoon lunch dates/ brunch with girlfriends
6. investing in myself (working out, eating better, reading, and taking courses)
7. taking much needed breaks
8. quality fabrics (linen, cotton, leather, and silks) Brands don’t really matter i just like quality pieces
9. keep fresh flowers in my home (weekly)
Microblading/shading, spa treatments, taking naps when I want to, eating at the best restaurants, upgrading my flights & taking trips to places I've never been...all the quiet luxury things I do for myself. best money I spend...ever.
Yes you are right 😍🙏God Bless you
Oh my Goodness 😂I absolutely loved this Vlog!!!
But I would say that as someone who just turned 40 this year, and trying to re-prioritize some things in my life, my top three luxuries are:
1) Quality kitchen appliances (like a Vitamix, Nama Juicer, Nespresso, etc.). Very pricey but worth every penny and will also help you to save some coin.
2) Same with cookwear. I recently replaced my old pots and pans that I had since college with some quality stainless steel. Best decision ever.
3) Skincare (Anything anti- aging)
Great video sis.🙂
I felt that Saturday morning routine in my BONES!!! And tell the truth and shame the devil about that refrain on sleeping too much! I was raised in Mississippi and any child who slept past 8:00 had to be pregnant!
😊
OhEmGee!! Me too 🫣😮💨😩 the accusations and lack of sleep still haunt me till 👏🏾this 👏🏾 DAY!!!
My quiet luxuries are:
- Traveling the world full-time
- Eating goodT food out
- Staying in accommodations that check off all the important things on my wish list
- Going to cafés frequently
- Living a life of leisure and working anywhere from 5-20 hours per week
- Investing in good bras because I am WELL endowed
- Choosing clients that align with my values
Ooh, I love the idea of splurging on a professional deep clean. Does it sound weird though that I'm kinda too embarrassed to think of someone doing a deep clean for me before I clean up a bit which....I think defeats the whole purpose sooo....🤔
They've seen worse. I used to feel the same way!
It’s so worth it and yes, I tend to do a quick “straighten up” before the cleaning people arrive 😂
This is the thing I love about Tashara...first off..she's a whole friend in my head. When I'm out shopping and I pick up something "cuteish"
..I look up and go "is this cute??"
Is she there?no.
But sis why was I really laughing about the orthopedic flip flops lmaooo carry on! 😂❤️
@@PoliticsFashion But what Y'all not ready for is that I have to order them off QVC/HSN...seeeee 😂😂😂 I left that part out!!
Love this for you!
Quiet luxury for me includes all of the healthy expensive snacks and a favorite candle brand of mine is Bloom and Prosper
My quiet luxuries include:
- Investing in eating as many low inflammation, whole foods / organic foods as possible
- Switching to sugaring instead of regular waxing to protect/prolong my skin health
- Doing a massage monthly as a way to reset (purchasing a spa membership or monthly massage package makes it more affordable)
- Gradually transforming my home into a smart home specifically focused on helping me stay in flow/maintain a routine that works well with my natural thought process (promotes convenience and wellness)
love all of these!
I saw an excerpt from your video on The Style Insider! ❤❤ She really broke "quiet luxury" down too.
The therapy, The Microblading, all of it I am hear for.
I got my Microblading done in the DR was 250, and amazing. I been hunting for an option in the US. But it was so good i may go back.
As someone who loves to cook, quality cookware and knives are a must have luxury.
true such a game charger
I had to get up and clean ( and you could not complain)every Saturday and I am from the Caribbean and we were washing by hand because there was no washing machine when I was a child.
"You do a Rosa Park."😂😂 "I'm doing this for my people." bars 😂😂😂😂❤❤❤ I love your stories and your channel absolutely beautiful not to mention comical.
My top 3 quiet luxuries are:
1. Linen bedding
2. Yummy desserts - truffles & macarons 😋
3. Door dash 😅 you called me out in this video
Awesome!! Yes.. luxury experiences over accumulating things!!Thank you for sharing!!
Girl when you said “ I fought hard to get on this MLK Blvd” I had to holler 😂 cause I did too! Love You!
I talked myself out of the luxury of upgrading to first class while waiting to board a flight to Florida. Never again! You've convinced me to just go for it.
Tashira, THIS IS THE ONE sis. she is me and I am her 🤍
😂😂😂🤍🤍🤍
I empathize with you. These are indeed luxuries that I do not take for granted. I also love the simple things like a candle.
❤❤❤❤......I just love your channel. That's its and that's all!!!!! In these big grown 40's I am all about life's quiet luxuries
#selfcare ❤🎯
You gave me some great ideas. Girl, I was taking notes!😂 I am also a 3rd generation breast cancer survivor x2 and just wanted to say continued blessings to you❤
Same to you!
Slow clap for this one friend. I just bought some $10 almond butter at Target, and thought about how I'm stunting on my old self lol
Neutrogena Hydro Boost is my ministry for the “ash that fights back.”
First-class tickets all the way... always! I explain this to people all the time. We deserve. It's all about how you treat yourself. Even work paid trips, I do my own upgrade.
Yes! Luxury for me is having nice sets of pajamas. I bought my last set from Anthropologie and added the gift wrap option.
Love your style and personality!
I loved everything in this video. We are truly best friends in my head. 😂
I would love ❤️ a cleaning service! Every one should have that luxury. I haven’t made it there yet.
Loved this video. I remember going to an all woman's Dosho in Chicago called "1000 Waves." The women Sensei's taught martial arts and self defense classes and there was a spa in the back. I loved going there just to relax. ($5 a visit) That was luxury to me.
I absolutely love everything about you!!!! Simply obsessed with you and your viewpoints!!! You are GOALS!!!
1. Not the long line bra🫢😂🤣 grannies be true to it☺️
But the bedding..
I’m loving the polish color you have on your nails 😍
Love this video! I just got on the house cleaner game about 3 months ago!!! It has literally improved my mental health!! Twice a month the ladies come on Wednesdays and make my entire world to come home to a clean house that I didn’t clean!!!
OK, this video was for the GROWN folk! I love it. The cleaning on Saturday almost took me out because my grandma didn’t play bout making them twin beds 😂
Also part of the #skincarecult strong 💪🏾
I think nice dishware and silverware is a luxury for me! I will buy bougie bowls and cups in a minute 😆
Thank you for sharing this perspective and keep this content coming!
Exactly right! It’s about how we as individuals chose to spend our money!
The No.04 Bois de Balincourt Diffuser and Candle is the best! It smells like a fancey hotel.
Yasssss...I'm loving my LIFE.. definitely a LUXURY ❤❤❤
Hello from Germany!
Thanks for sharing your luxuries.
This was such an amazing video. Yes of course, first class airline seats. Why didn't I think of that??!!! Thank you for this inspiration.
Sis, I felt every bit of your words today! Who is doing non linen sheets and non first class. Grown grown ❤
23:01 Girl, I had to start my fitness journey in the middle of this video. You look stunning!
I'm straight up screaming with you talking about the 90s brows because I was telling my daughter about it maybe a month ago. I had an uncle fresh out of jail hooking me and my bestie up for free. You couldn't tell us nothing at all!!!😂😂😂
lmaooooo not Unc!!!
@@PoliticsFashion yes ma'am!!!! He was so cold with it too sis, lmbo! So cold my eyebrows still bout gone.
The first class shoulder was just so amazing I had to comment on it. 🤣🤣🤣💞
Glory, too, U Politic & fashion !❤❤❤❤U Chicago, IL USA 🇺🇸 😊
Polyester sheet at this big age! 😂 this is preaching and comedy we neverrrr knew we needed! New Subbie ❤
