I’m better At RB6 - Before it was nerfed beyond realism, the Cent Mk 1 was by far the best 5.7 tank. Right after French release (with solid shot buff and that sick APDS round at 5.7) it was undisputed top dog. With your lower plate hidden, the Russian 85 had no hopes of penning, and the German 88 (since most people used the PzGr round with way more explosive mass) was the same way. It's the first tank in the British tree to get a real revese gear of -14kph, armor was THICC, could pen anything that looked at it... Only thing that sucked was side armor/Yak-9T hitting your engine deck.

It should be in the British (Allies) tanks decal section, as i have it there. It may have come with a premium tank though, maybe the A13 or Firefly.... hard to remember.

"fight at range your gun good at range" "be aggresive and keep flanking" "don't over extend and expose your sides" all your tips are contradictive. everytime you flank, you will expose your side. and to guard the tank side you can't be aggresive. I think your good game footage is just lucky, as no tank guarding the flank. the tank is slow so most of the time it will get flanked first. with all these heatfs light tank, I don't think flanking and be aggresive is good... the tank is slow so it is really bad at flanking and avoid revenge kill. slow tank are more consistent to play from the back of battlefield and shoot at distance. being aggresive will work some times but it's not consistent. ikv91 or leo1 or ru251 outflank you and you're done...
I disagree with your comment that the patch change is not going to make a big impact. Firstly, pen at 60 degrees angle is the most important property of a shell as every tank at that tier uses angled armor. Secondly, it is changed from 108mm to 83mm of pen at 60 degrees, this means that a slightly angled panther (construction angle is 55 degrees) will bounce your shell. A big list of vehicles will become significantly harder to pen from the front. Examples: Panthers, Coelian, AMX 50, AMX M4,T-44, T29, T34 and centurions. I see this change as definite proof that the tortoise needs a slight BR reduction to about 6.3.
Ok now. I seem to somehow be the only person to understand this, but this tank has a very easy weakspot from the front. It's in the upper right corner, that's from the enemies perspective. You shoot there, 4 crewmembers die, with APCBC or APHE that is. That's how I just wreck every tortise I face with my king tiger. This weakspot is why harder to hide, because you just aim for the corner so good luck hiding it. I don't have this tank myself though, so I can't really tell you how you can effectivly defend yourself. Try to make is as angled as possible I guess. Good luck out there everyone :)
I put a bush on the top of the tank to cover the cupola like you do, _but_ I put an bigger bush on the other side, the one that is 3d to make it look like there's a cupola there.. works well for defending against APHE when the shell flies through a bush..
Just discovered your channel the other day - watch a lot of war thunder focused channels and I gotta say the informative style and situation-focused format (2 games, one good one tricky) you have going really fills a gap! Was honestly contemplating making some videos myself in a similar style on vehicles I have a lot of experience in. Already learned a lot, great work!
Aw I liked seeing the grid get filled out at the end. Can you keep the format with extra gameplay for the wrap up but still make the grid with the colours because one I personally was likeing it.
People struggle with the Tortoise? What about Jagdtiger then? XD That thing is overtiered, powercrept and the gun and shell are underperforming (compared to solid shot). It is mind boggling how the gaijin does not care one bit for the Jagdtiger or 6.3-7.7 Germans.
to be honest, those bushes should be deleted from the game, I really dont get why they implemented them.. such a cheezy way to wide weak spots which should be atleast visible Good video tho Oxy ;)

I bought 2 of mine after the change and have since unlocked 3 others via the warbond shop, its really not that hard, i dont play as much as i used to and i still reach rank 3/4 in warbond shop. They used to be a P2W item when they could only be bought with GE, but now they are not simply because of being able to grind them out.
old comment I know but even now a year on it's still a beast of a tank and I often take it to battle in my 10.0 line up, I've even destroyed a leo 2A5 with it.
WeyounLP bushes are something I’ve never addressed directly, but they’re in the game, and if people have access to a bush or other large decoration theres no reason to not use them apart from petty protest- regardless whether I agree with bushes or not they work, and from my standpoint of giving advice to people I’m not going to ignore their effectiveness based on principle

I remember when the tortoise was 1st release I was able to hold 3 maus and 2 jagdtiger and panther 2 on Poland on my own by just angling my Armor

Raging Rawr Best 5.7 is a t-34-85 and always will be. Gaijin is hella biased and loves to make things unrealistic

I like the new format, the do’s and don’t s coupled with the good and bad gameplay is very helpful.

Techpriest I play the 6.7-7.0 Germans and hands down are some of my favorite vehicles to use. Don’t know what your prob is...
