SCOTT Genius ST910 // Bike Review

  • The all-new Scott Genius incorporates the same bold, distinctly Swiss design as the Scott Spark 900 Tuned AXS we reviewed last year. The new bike tucks its rear shock, a trunnion-mounted Fox Float X Nude, entirely inside the frame for a package that’s both sleek and practical. Rest assured; this bike will turn heads at your local trailhead for the foreseeable future.
    In addition to its svelte appearance, I found the Genius to be an exceptionally capable 150-millimeter trail bike. Climbing aboard the Genius felt balanced, a sensation I attributed to its 77.2-degree seat tube angle. This bike puts you in an excellent, modern climbing position by keeping the front end planted to the ground on even the steepest uphill maneuvers.

    Love that you're giving a slight review on that Ohlins. I've recently thought about switching over from Fox Factory (because I just want to spend money I guess 😆) but I know their product is super nice. Great review, and man there's a lot of blow down up there!

    On of the only things I don't like about this bike is the bar stem combo. Seems like stack would be limited. And if you get a new bar will it work on the stem?

    Whar do you think of it as a full on Enduro race bike? Is it burly enough? Say, compared to a Spec Enduro?
    Great riding by the way!

    Are you able to run a different bar/stem on that bike, or is it a no-go because of the headset routing? I’m just not a fan of the integrated bar and stern look

    • @bagger9353
      @bagger9353 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can change it, but you need either a syncros stem or change the spacers and headset to a "normal" one and ride every bar/stem combo

    My only issue is for $7000 alloy rear triangle.......no. It I got full carbon I could live with everything else. Thanks for the commit on the Ohlins fork. I have been thinking about making that expensive jump and trying a complete ohlins suspension.

    • @edlorenz1552
      @edlorenz1552 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had full ohlins. It is a solid suspension, but not good in chatter. I also had to send my brand new shock back to Ohlins because the Hi speed and rebound didn't change when adjusted. Too expensive for what you get.

    How do you compare it to the trail 429 enduro you reviewed couple months ago

    • @johnsospencer
      @johnsospencer ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, they are a world apart. This Genius has quite a bit more forward climbing position for getting up steep climbs. The Pivot has way more anti squat in the rear suspension. The Genius has a longer feeling wheelbase with a slacked out headtube angle to make it much better for steeps over the 429. The 429 lends it's self better to calmer terrain and ripping fast corners - and jumping trail gaps.

    My friend put this bike together for his son and before I knew it he was done th-cam.com/users/postUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L When the son came to put it together he was surprised to see it was already done. All he had to do was take the bike to get air and be on his way. My friend did not have any major problems putting this bike together; small issue was putting one of the brakes on straight; however when the son got home he was able to fix it. The bike rides well gears move correctly; good bike for the price. Wrote review after the son took the bike. Sorry.

    Just FYI, as to your wording, no need to say "rear shock" the front shocks, as we all know, are called forks, so you can just say "shock"😀

    I had this model for a long time a couple years ago. I'ma just put in my two cents that Scott does not make good products. Of course, your experience may vary, but on my 930, only two levels above this one, I was constantly having to take my bike in for wheel truing and couldnt customize the shock because it's proprietary and dumb. The reviewer makes any bike look good, but Scott's price/quality ratio is basically yeti levels of disproportion for me. If you're less gravity oriented though it might work out. All I know is the abuse I put it through as a fairly novice rider was too much for the build quality.

    • @jonathanwilliams9132
      @jonathanwilliams9132 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Scott only makes the best race bikes in the world. Genius 930 comes with cheap wheels, you get what you pay more. Scotts are expensive, mostly due to their carbon layup on specific frames. Shocks can be changed, headsets as well. Just dont abuse your bikes and you will be fine! 🤣
