    Thanks for you interesting review, I enjoyed it very much.
    I got one of the first knifes of the TiNy Series and used it quite often.
    As a little tipp:
    Use the guard of the handle for batoning wood. It is of course made of solid titanium and will split bigger logs realy easy.
    This method is also recommended by the knifemakers and works very well. This little knife, ist incredible sturdy. I simply love it!

      I keep a Spyderco Squeak with titanium scales in my truck as a quick package opener and utility knife. At -20F and below, it's unbearable without gloves. G10 and micarta actually work better in extreme cold. That said, I love titanium scales in 3 seasons barehanded and 1 with gloves.

    • @martinerhard8447
      @martinerhard8447 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@adx442 Not directly comparable
      UG tools prints hollow! titanium handles. So not only has titanium itself low heat conductivity and capacity but what has even much less? Air. The handles volume is mostly air. Average wall thickness is only 1mm...and its still so strong that you can baton the handle through wood.
      with your spyderco you only got titanium scales around a stainless steel core which you will even directly touch
      I know from comparing that a mircata scale knife is much less comfortable in very cold weather. The only thing that comes close to a UG tools is my mora bushcraft but that has a rubber handles and is not fulltang. So less steel in the tang just like the UG tools has not much steel in the tang

    • @adx442
      @adx442 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @martinerhard8447 The Squeak sprint was full Ti scales (it's a slip joint, no liners). Interesting point about the new molding/welding tech, though. My sample size is just 1, but I do prefer Micarta or G10 with bare hands when it's very cold.

    • @martinerhard8447
      @martinerhard8447 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@adx442 I am looking at a pic right now and on the backside (so where your hand touches it while you hold it) there seems to be stainless steel of slightly different color between two thick titanium scales. The clip and screws are also ss i suppose?
      One can see how little material is in these titanium handles if you compare the weights.
      The UG tools TiNy with its bigger blade is 80 grams while the squeak sprint is barely lighter at 70 grams
      What I want to so is...there is currently nothing else comparable on the market. You basically have to get one or trust reviews.

    I looked at their knives, interesting designs; but price is high (Eu vs American dollars), which I am sure that both MagnaCut steel and titanium handles is why.
    And for me, having a full tang is very important consideration when choosing any fixed blade knife.
    With all that being said, any knife that can withstand being batoned through a pelvic bone is very impressive Vedran!

    • @frostys_bushcraft
      @frostys_bushcraft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, premium product with a premium price tag.
      I'm actually not that big on full tangs... had a lot knives without it from Mora, Eka, Cold Steel, Benchmade etc. and never had a problem. Properly designed tail tang, like on Skrama or Ka-Bar's LHB will stand up to a lot of abuse.
      This is something else with a really short tang embeded in pute titanium so we'll see how it standa out long term.

    • @JohnFrumFromAmerica
      @JohnFrumFromAmerica ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A full tang is not needed the metal at the back of the handle is not doing anything for strength. A rat tail tang that has good radius at the blade and around 2/3 thickness at the blade down to 1/3 at the end of the end of the handle is probably as strong enough such that the tip would break before the handle would.

      Chill guys... Slefmade is a great guy, not a keyboard warrior. He probably just didn't get the "titanium" part.

      @@frostys_bushcraft You're right. I didn't get the point about the titanium. Unfortunately, my English is too bad. It's been 43 years since school. I'm sorry that some felt offended here.

    Sorry mate... Not interested in reviews... When are you going to get back to camping and bushcraft?

      I'll do it occasionally, actually planning one next week. But on regular basis.... when my kids grow a bit, probably in a year or two.

      Are you about camping by proxy? I never thought of that, but if you're too busy making money to go camping you'll sooner or later figure out something

      @@ssunfish I was all about camping but I'm kinda starting to like reviewing things so I'll probably just do what I feel like doing at the moment and have time for.
