These people had 2 confirmed in 3rd AC tickets and 2 waiting tickets that confirmed just before train departure in another coach. But didn't exchanged seats instead cramped in 2 seats for 25 hr because they wanted content. Like struggle, worst journey, mayhem, etc. Otherwise i didn't find anything that wrong. I mean it was SAFE , no one harass them, it was AC, normal food. And if you want to compare with Scotland standard then either u should have booked 1AC or flight assuming that u can afford it . Sorry but the Journey was hell because of your planning.

Seeing your journey reminds me 1 decade ago of how similar the train atmosphere was in Indonesia. people traveling without tickets, traders at train stations and even inside trains. very bad service until a hero came to be the train director and fixed everything for the better. The Sleeper Class & AC 3 Tier is for common middle-class people. Prices are low, so comfort is compromised. If you want comfort, go by Air (there are plenty of flights) or if you're travelling by train, book AC 1st Class or AC 2 Tier. AC 3-Tier and non-AC Sleeper Class are for middle-class Indians, not for luxury seeking westerners.

I did a 3rd class in china(called at the time hard seat) in 1993 for 35 hours. No bed, only seat and you had to step on ppl to go to toilet. At destination my feet were swollen to the imaginable. Had never happened to me before. I was 19 yrs old. I remember the ppl I met on that trip were nice though but it felt so uncomfortable and I remember the oily dirty feeling on the hands on the train lol. The longest train trip I did was on the transiberian railway for 4 days without stop but that was pure luxury compared to any sleeper class at the time. Beds were big , comfortable and you didn't feel the time. There was a nice restaurant and felt like you were in a living room.some Trains in Russia were great in 1993
Why do you even travel in a third tier compartment meant for the lower middle class Indians. You could have booked 2nd tier or 1st tier comfortable berths.

Hey Alan, I understand that all the tickets were sold out & your only option was to travel in this sleeper coach. Please note that these coaches are meant for lower & middle class citizens (for whom convenience is not the priority, but cost is). The very coach you travelled in is still a luxury for many of us, and we definitely wouldn't call it "hell", it's offensive. There's always someone richer than you, and insulting the poorer is unacceptable. If convenience was your topmost priority, you should have been smart enough to book flight tickets, or have booked tatkal train tickets for first class/AC coaches. You can't expect much from a sleeper coach. So the next time you travel to India (or pretty much any place), ensure you plan your travels & book tickets well in advance so that you don't have to compromise on convenience.
Don't let them try to discount how your time in India was. I am Indian it is very painful place for anyone. You will find some nice people put because you are white others will pretend to be nice and rip you off. I am Indian born in America and no longer speak the language they try to rip me off as well. You get what you pay for... India has best of both worlds...you behave cheap and pay less so you will get similar options. When people make little money in India they don't go on this . they pay for better A/c class or choose flight.
Why dont you book maharaja express, vandebharat and many good trains are available, but that costs more , moreover till July it is summer in India so be Hydrated
Title should be only possible in India to travel 4 people with 2 tickets on a 25 hrs journey in reserved class AC train. I thank the railway ticket collector for allowing you without fine. The train also has catering services along with fresh bedsheet and pillow covers. Another thing which they didn't show was a western toilet available on every coach of indian train. And the fare is damn CHEAP for 25 hrs journey most probably at max 36$ per person on 3 tier AC class sleeper.
@@Alan_and_Shannon You are not allowed to travel on reserved seats with waiting list tickets in the first place and instead were eligible to ask for refunds for those unreserved tickets. You had your partners' reserved seats to fall back upon and on top of that are white westerner (considered exotic and intellectually superior by post colonial inferior complex driven sections of Indians) tourist which is why the ticket examiner informally condoned or else those carrying unreserved tickets would be kicked out of the train at the very next station once found out.

Traveling using wait-listed ticket is a crime, it is equivalent to traveling "without ticket". You were supposed to get a full refund for the wait-listed ticket and choose another travel method. Be grateful that the TTC allowed you to board the train.

Just came here seeing the title of worst train journey after watching your entering Pakistan from China video. And saw you not complain even one time after all those tragedies and third class worst dirtiest infrastructure. But here you are all vocal after travelling in a AC train with sleeper that when you had just two seats amongst four people. You shouldn't have travelled when you didn't had confirmed tickets. I used to travel Delhi to Bangalore by train - 41 hours. Sleeper Class. Used to love every bit of it. Talking to strangers, making new friends, and secretly getting drunk on the train.

Seeing your journey reminds me 1 decade ago of how similar the train atmosphere was in Indonesia. people traveling without tickets, traders at train stations and even inside trains. very bad service until a hero came to be the train director and fixed everything for the better. The Sleeper Class & AC 3 Tier is for common middle-class people. Prices are low, so comfort is compromised. If you want comfort, go by Air (there are plenty of flights) or if you're travelling by train, book AC 1st Class or AC 2 Tier. AC 3-Tier and non-AC Sleeper Class are for middle-class Indians, not for luxury seeking westerners.

I did a 3rd class in china(called at the time hard seat) in 1993 for 35 hours. No bed, only seat and you had to step on ppl to go to toilet. At destination my feet were swollen to the imaginable. Had never happened to me before. I was 19 yrs old. I remember the ppl I met on that trip were nice though but it felt so uncomfortable and I remember the oily dirty feeling on the hands on the train lol. The longest train trip I did was on the transiberian railway for 4 days without stop but that was pure luxury compared to any sleeper class at the time. Beds were big , comfortable and you didn't feel the time. There was a nice restaurant and felt like you were in a living room.some Trains in Russia were great in 1993

It was around Holi festival so everything was booked, we were lucky to even get these seats

Situations like this can happen in any trains in any countries not India! Moreover what you say was true 20 years back, today Indian railways is far far better! Its not a lie but many vlogs on youtube by other western vloggers confirm my point! Hey Alan, I understand that all the tickets were sold out & your only option was to travel in this sleeper coach. Please note that these coaches are meant for lower & middle class citizens (for whom convenience is not the priority, but cost is). The very coach you travelled in is still a luxury for many of us, and we definitely wouldn't call it "hell", it's offensive. There's always someone richer than you, and insulting the poorer is unacceptable. If convenience was your topmost priority, you should have been smart enough to book flight tickets, or have booked tatkal train tickets for first class/AC coaches. You can't expect much from a sleeper coach. So the next time you travel to India (or pretty much any place), ensure you plan your travels & book tickets well in advance so that you don't have to compromise on convenience.

Title should be only possible in India to travel 4 people with 2 tickets on a 25 hrs journey in reserved class AC train. I thank the railway ticket collector for allowing you without fine.
The train also has catering services along with fresh bedsheet and pillow covers. Another thing which they didn't show was a western toilet available on every coach of indian train.
And the fare is damn CHEAP for 25 hrs journey most probably at max 36$ per person on 3 tier AC class sleeper.
read the description regarding tickets, we actually paid for 4 tickets and got 3 seats so we paid extra
@@Alan_and_Shannon You are not allowed to travel on reserved seats with waiting list tickets in the first place and instead were eligible to ask for refunds for those unreserved tickets. You had your partners' reserved seats to fall back upon and on top of that are white westerner (considered exotic and intellectually superior by post colonial inferior complex driven sections of Indians) tourist which is why the ticket examiner informally condoned or else those carrying unreserved tickets would be kicked out of the train at the very next station once found out.

Traveling using wait-listed ticket is a crime, it is equivalent to traveling "without ticket". You were supposed to get a full refund for the wait-listed ticket and choose another travel method. Be grateful that the TTC allowed you to board the train.

Just came here seeing the title of worst train journey after watching your entering Pakistan from China video. And saw you not complain even one time after all those tragedies and third class worst dirtiest infrastructure. But here you are all vocal after travelling in a AC train with sleeper that when you had just two seats amongst four people. You shouldn't have travelled when you didn't had confirmed tickets. Flight connectivity is excellent throughout the country should have gone there. You get what you pay as simple as that.
