I would highly recommend sleeping in more expensive hotels as the chances of getting scammed are far lower, even though you'll have to pay more. I do hope the police take action :)

Try to avoid cheap hotels in the proximity of Bus Terminals, Railway stations. Even Pakistani families usually avoid those hotels for various reasons. Aim for the city's centeral commercial areas. They would be a little bit more expensive but far better and worth the money.

Most people here will gladly host you for free in Pakistan! Youll have free food and good places to stay much better than these shitty places. Just do your research when you can before booking any place

Sorry guys, I been to Peshawar many times, you need to find a better hotel, you should go for Destination Heritage hotel in Sadar bazar its better and cheaper. Dont do online booking other than known hotels. If you guys need someone to drive you guys around please let me know we can arrange someone safe to help you.

Khyber Mail is one of the classic train of Pakistan but it has too many stops because there's a mail boggy attached to it that deliver mail at every station. Many nice hotels in Peshawar but unluckily you've found out this not so good cheap hotel and got scammed.

just for clarification there are rooms which have no AC installed those are simple rooms yours had one installed so basically they have no way to find out if a person is using ac or not from the outside so they cannot just take anyone's word for it saying that they will not use ac. the language barrier made this more frustrating then it was really. i am sorry. many people in peshawar don't even speak urdu as their primary language.

As a Google Local guide I helped many people visiting Sukkur City in Pakistan. and I won't suggest you to stay in these cheap hotels where even we Pakistanis don't prefer to stay with family. This is so unfortunate, I really apologise for your bad experience.... my only suggestion would be to check ratings and reviews on whichever place you are planning to stay/visit and that on various platforms, and if possible, try and make a phone call to the place before confirming reservation... Talking to people really help assess the kind of people you will be dealing with in advance. last but not the least, make sure to report them on reservation website as well.

You can complain in Police or FIA law enforcement if you have been scammed. FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) caters to the online scams/cyber crimes.

Nobody scammed you, it was just miscommunication and if you are saying you pre booked and paid in advance so yeah thats something they should work on as it would be affecting their business. You guys should checkin in any well known hotel , might charge little extra but you wont be facing issues like this.

1. Don't use online booking for anything in Pakistan. The infrastructure is not developed and you'll prob get scammed 2. You guys are really cheapskates (really no offence tho 😂) Book good hotels that should cost around 5-10 thousand per night for the best experience. We as Pakistanis even avoid such cheap hotels in fear of being scammed. A hotel around 10k would get you some really modest accommodations with very good staff.

My motelguesthouse in Karachi costs 3390 per day with taxes included and I paid the money online. I have not yet been to Karachi but I believe a 3000 PKR to 4000 PKR for one day is fine.
The guy helping out with translation spoke decent english but i am pretty sure he was unable to completely understand you because of the accent. Try and speak slowly with a neutral accent when you are speaking with non native speakers.

If I was traveling on that train and it cost $7 a seat, I’d just pay for 5 seats to get whole cabin

just for clarification there are rooms which have no AC installed those are simple rooms yours had one installed so basically they have no way to find out if a person is using ac or not from the outside so they cannot just take anyone's word for it saying that they will not use ac. the language barrier made this more frustrating then it was really. i am sorry. many people in peshawar don't even speak urdu as their primary language.

@@Alan_and_Shannon well we are so sorry for the online scammers that scammed you in peshawer and the person in the hotel saying that this hotel does not had any online booking facility since 2 years so for a couple dont stay in such hotels you should search hotels in the saddar(a place in peshawer) side of peshawer and for transport you must use the bus service called BRT that are the best for traveling in peshawer
Pakistan is extremely Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️ especially the northern areas in Khyber Pukhtunkhwa and the people are extremely nobel and hospitable. Pakistanis are very good people and care the most about foreigners.

you should take the help of local google guides living in every city of Pakistan. they will you come over on communication problems during your trip & they are trusted people. As a Google Local guide I helped many people visiting Sukkur City in Pakistan. and I won't suggest you to stay in these cheap hotels where even we Pakistanis don't prefer to stay with family. Stay safe & seek advise from us to get rid of scams.

Most of the people telling you to avoid these kind of hotels, but i see you guys are really exploring the natural pakistan. you both are really experiencing the adventure, instead of staying in luxury hotels and with tourist guide, not a bad choice to enjoy the real country but still that person is totally a shit bag who did not try to help you and sitting on the front desk of the hotel, i am sure he doesnt own the hotel, because in the chat i could hear the other tellling him to give you guys room but he did not want to take the risk, he knew this hotel is not good for a tourist, i hope you guys are safe and you have not got any kind of sickness from the food you have eaten from the train station, these 2 places should be fined from the officials because they are truly below the standards

China is near a developed country. But we still have a large poor population with less than 1000 rmb monthly income. We still have a lot of green slow trains and cheap hotels. So please leave space and dignity for low income population!

This is so unfortunate, I really apologise for your bad experience.... my only suggestion would be to check ratings and reviews on whichever place you are planning to stay/visit and that on various platforms, and if possible, try and make a phone call to the place before confirming reservation... Talking to people really help assess the kind of people you will be dealing with in advance. last but not the least, make sure to report them on reservation website as well.

You can complain in Police or FIA law enforcement if you have been scammed. FIA (Federal Investigation Agency) caters to the online scams/cyber crimes.

In Peshawar use University Town they have best hotels to stay never used to stay in these hotels

Nobody scammed you, it was just miscommunication and if you are saying you pre booked and paid in advance so yeah thats something they should work on as it would be affecting their business. You guys should checkin in any well known hotel , might charge little extra but you wont be facing issues like this.

1. Don't use online booking for anything in Pakistan. The infrastructure is not developed and you'll prob get scammed
2. You guys are really cheapskates (really no offence tho 😂) Book good hotels that should cost around 5-10 thousand per night for the best experience. We as Pakistanis even avoid such cheap hotels in fear of being scammed. A hotel around 10k would get you some really modest accommodations with very good staff.

My motelguesthouse in Karachi costs 3390 per day with taxes included and I paid the money online. I have not yet been to Karachi but I believe a 3000 PKR to 4000 PKR for one day is fine.
