  • Join us we take on our first overnight sleeper train in India.
We started in Mumbai and moved up north to Indore, the journey took 12 hours, and it wasnt the most comfortable one.
We still had a good laugh and managed to get some good Indian food on the train

I dont understand this habit of foreigners choosing to travel in cheaper classes meant for working class people & then drawing comparison with costly European standards.

Please travel by flight, don't travel by train, we Indians are comfortable to travel in these trains, they are cheaper and safe for long distance travel,
Kindly don't compare and expect the comfort and luxury of your country, because we are 1.4 billion people, and we are just 77 years old country since independance, going by the standards, the railways and other transport facilities are well maintained, can you imagine if an European country having 250 million people and what would be the infrastructure.
However, welcome to India and enjoy the places, food etc.
Feel the warmth of the people , how they treat you with respect .
Carry happy memories, every city, state has a different food, language, culture, history explore it, you will be pleasantly surprised.

So far we have enjoyed experiencing how local’s travel around the country, we certainly did not compare it to our country as it would cost 20 times the price for a journey like that in UK. Unfortunately Alan being 6ft it wasn’t the most comfortable of journeys for him😅
We are already noticing a difference for each area it’s almost like they are all individual countries it’s crazy, can’t wait to explore more.

From next time remember to ask for Bill when you order food in train. Indian railways have a rule that says you don't have to pay if you don't receive Bill. That food by railway is for 80 and they are charging 150.

They removed curtains from AC3 and now its a glorified sleeper, try AC2 or 1 next. Expect to pay around 1000/- (10$) each as you go up a tier but even that depends if the train is under dynamic fare charting or regular.
