a cork would be on the bottom and a pourer for anything that needs to be poured lol
We call them Bean Pots in Georgia USA too!! You made your baked beans in them mostly.
I have a bird ornament in the same style, it was a gift many years ago, mine is a Kingfisher! ❤
@@SuperScorpiorising Nice!!
Bean pot?
Ah I've found another Milliput fan!
I love my Milliput!
The pot is what we call in New England a bean pot. Great find. I have one that was my great grams and it was used for bean hole beans, when you cook them on coals , and bury them to cook.
That’s very interesting thank you!
Haha! Just came by to say it's a bean pot!
Maybe could be used for salting down beans to use over winter
It’s a salt glazed pot, probably German. They are fairly common in the Netherlands. It’s not for cooking, but to store food.
I own several up-to 1 meter high.
That pot at 35:26 is fantastic! It needs to lovingly be put back to use and regain its dignity. Beautiful. Enjoy your videos and Ms. White's.
eVerY time, that shot of the two of you, hand in hand, skipping away from the camera, makes me 🤣 laugh out loud. I don’t know why. It just tickles my funny bone mercilessly.
Does anyone else think that Who picture was ever so slightly airbrushed? 😂😮😂
😂 agreed!
Farting hedgehog, brilliant! As a rescuer of hedgehogs (Holderness hedgehog hospital ) and fan of mud larking this is the best clip ever. Plus thank you for supporting your visiting prickly friends
Brilliant isn’t it 😂 🦔💨
Hey Si-
That's Roy Orbison Singing "I Can't Help It" from 1970.
Always enjoy your great vids!
Good guess - keep watching👍🏻🐾🧡
I was wondering if it was Hank himself.
Definitely Glen Campbell singing on that track, that songs been recorded multiple times by multiple artists.
@@derekwalters6132 This was my introduction to the song. Glen Campbell does make more sense. Thanks for the info
thanks for having friends so we don't have to .. lol so nice to be a part of it
My grandmother (from wales) used to wear a perfume called “Lily of the Valley”, it was in a tiny tiny blue bottle with a stopper. She would order it from overseas somewhere. It smelled divine.
Another was “Evening in Paris”. I don’t remember that smell but it had a really pretty stopper also.
So cool x
Oh I remember that perfume. I think my mom had some. It smelled divine!
My mom said Evening in Paris was worn by many women, in particular before deodorant was invented, and could be a bit much in a warm room full of people, such as at a dance. She had an old bottle in her dresser when I was a kid in the 60s. She was a teen in the mid to late 40s.
The beauty of the roses is enhanced in your newly recovered, hand crafted pot.
I am 84 I have a lovely hat pin holder that belonged to my great grand mum …I just wish it still had the hat pins. My hats never seem to stay put …the one you found is just lovely as well. Nice little Brown Betty
The white teapot spout was attached to a broken spout with a short length of rubber tube, saved buying a new teapot. Really enjoy your videos thank you.
Spot on!! Cheers Mudlover!👍🏻🐾🧡
The crown @2:19 would make a cool T-shirt logo.
Love that!
Must keep the stars of the show happy...shrimp cocktail is a good start😊
Love your cats. So gentle 🚕
That they are ! 🐈⬛ 🐈
Loud motor, sweet!
I’m guessing the album includes “Splish Splash”. Your upcycle skills are top notch - loved the bird. Happy Easter!
Haha cheers Joe
Your replaceable tea pot spout reminds me of the metal spouts bartenders have in their liquor bottles. Nice finds, Simon and Happy Easter!
Yes it does!
I don't think I'd be able to stop at that creek, just be still there seeing new things every step!!
New things turn up every tide I enjoy this creek
Yes it is like that sometimes!
Always a good time out on the hovercraft.
Indeed we do!!
I'm so glad you left the crab to enjoy that shelter till he outgrew it!
Me too. Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I love your mud digging but i equally enjoy all of the sweet creatures you share with us❤
That is the most wonderful little teapot! Love the flat sided blue perfume bottle, with its lid too!
Cheers Sarah👍🏻🐾🧡
The Who best band ever!! Quadraphinia top 5 film.
Great film haven’t seen it years! F F F fade away
I love your mud larking search with Mark. So cool and informative. I am so in love with you record was cool. Anyone who feeds shrimp to their Kitties is a good guy. God search.
Cheers Susan👍🏻🐾🧡
Fab-u-lous . . . as always. I had one of those pots, so did my Nan, with a lid. General kitchen-wear item used for laying down salted veg, pickles . . preserves of all kinds, a really gorgeous find. And then there are shags . . . striking seabirds similar to cormorants . . . who doesn't love a shag? My neighbours ask me what I watch because of the whoops of joy heard through the wall . . . thank you for the joy you bring me. x x x
Haha brilliant! 🧡
Mark wins the hat competition you didn't know you where having, love it.
Oh my goodness, gourmet shrimp for Nellie!! What a posh cat!
He is very spoilt! 🐈⬛
And works hard!
I like being notified when the new video's will be released. Then I know that I have something interesting to watch. Good Day to you all and Happy Easter 🐣
Yay. Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Thanks Si, another super 'get down and dirty' Mudlover video from my very favourite Channel - guaranteed to put a smile on anyone's face!! Love and friendship winging its way. xxx
Thank you to you - my number one Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡 What was you favourite find from this mudventure? x
@@Sifinds Hi Si, I particularly liked the triangular brown bottle, the clay pot and blue scent bottle but best of all is your up-cycling! It's an art form that's totally unique, so the winner, by far, is the little china bird you gave a completely new life to!! How about you?? x
@@user-fj5lj8wd2t thanks Penny! The China bird is on its way to Australia! What an eventful life it has and will continue to have x
Aww the cats!!!
That's hilarious. Never heard a hedgehog fart.
My husband was holding one of our mini dachshunds a few weeks ago. Scratching her belly, she sneezed and farted at the same time. We laughed and laughed. First time for that.
Great job on the up cycle. 👍
Farts are funny. Simple 😂
I love it when you find China from The Potteries- (Stoke-on-Trent). Makes me feel proud to be a Stokie 😅. Great video.
Nice one Vanessa👍🏻🐾🧡
Look forward to this Si. Off for lunch with the family today. Me and the old man will watch at 3. Looks like luck in the muck to me, me ol mucker.
Enjoy! Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Such a fun episode! Held out hope for The Who as well given my ID :-) . Thanks for promoting ADOPT, DON"T SHOP. Appreciate a muddy animal lover :-) . Was so touched when I watched a previous episode w the crab that didn't get evicted. 🙂
Oh yeah! Why don’t you all just F F F F Fade away! Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Paul Simon's...😊...the history on our coastline is so incredibly interesting...you must get so excited never knowing what you are going to find! ...like treasure hunting every time you are out ...😊
Good guess. Yes we are very lucky. Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
You guys are living a dream come true.
I’m glad it looks like that. Thanks👍🏻🐾🧡
Happy Easter, Si! Post doesn't become available here in Virginia, USA, until 10:00am tomorrow morning. Something to look forward to after Sunrise church service! You and all of your friends are so enjoyable to watch. A new video brightens my day. Thanks for doing this thing you do... so well. Bless you!
I guessed Glen Campbell, but only by his voice, not from the songs. Interesting! Love the bird upcycle & teapot! 😊
We’ll done!! Cheers Mudlover👍🏻🐾🧡
So! You’re not live, but we will take it! Missed you last night! We think you fell asleep and forgot, it’s all good! We still love you!
Sorry about that, I got the time wrong
The bird looked brilliant sitting on the branch. Some great finds.
Cheers Annette👍🏻🐾🧡
Bee Gee's, actually Pink Floyd was my first thought.
Love the condiment pieces, especially the finely painted or etched red japanese design, so fine, so elegant and the deco one is just pure joy, highly creative things.
Love the two handled pot, would have had a lid, being glazed inside, it was food grade,
could have had olives in brine, or anything preserved with vinegar.
Wet or dry storage. It has an elegant shape.
15:01 That pot looks like the main body of a bean pot. For brown bakes beans with pork and molasses. Good stuff!
Cool beans. Cheers
We hubby and me discoverd your Page and oh the finds you find absooutly jealous...i am from London but living in Spain and i just want it all what you find AMAZING!
Cheers Mudlovers! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I'll watch it when it comes up on my notifications later on this morning here in VancouverBC
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Although I cannot understand half of what Si says I love him. My bucket list is to go mudlarking in England once in my life, especially if it could be Si❤❤❤❤
Half is fine 😂 👍🏻🐾🧡
Awesome day in the mud with some very cool finds, thanks for bringing us along 👍👏🙏❤️
Cheers Chris! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Happy Easter(Si and Everyone) ❤
Happy Easter Jo👍🏻🐾🧡
Happy Easter to you too 🐰
I expect someone has already suggested this, but I think the record is by the 70’s band… Mud! That’s right, that’s right, that’s right, that’s right, I really love your tiger light! Your films bring me so much joy Si! 😊
Haha, great suggestion cheers Mudlover!👍🏻🐾🧡
Si! The teapot and lid is amazing! Thanks for sharing x
Cheers Elaine👍🏻🐾🧡
Awesome findings and lovely upcycle and mind-blowing history behind each item that you have found . But I am deeply in love with the triangle amber bottle. ❤😊. As I have a small collection of amber colors bottles. Enjoy . Anticipated for more such lovely and wonderful video.
Thank you very much and have a lovely Easter 🐣 Sunday.
With love from SAM
Guwahati, Assam, India 🇮🇳 ♥️
Cheers Sam! Keep on running pal!!
Nice tea pot and several nice looking bottles. Your friend shirley from new Bern, north carolina u.s.a ❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😊😊🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cheers Shirley👍🏻🐾🧡
I'm pretty sure there's a pub called " The Farting Hedgehog."
If there isn’t, for the love of everything GOOD - please name a pub as such!!!
Haha 🍺 🦔💨
Thanks Si, I really appreciate the effort you go to to present a very entertaining vid, interesting finds and funny repartee, cheers!!!🥰💕👍👍👍
Cheers Frances👍🏻🐾🧡
My dad loves the who he’s a proper ‘the who’ fan I reckon it’s Duran duran
You need more buckets... 🤣✌️😎
Or a bigger bucket 😂
The ceramic or china item, housing the little crab, appears to be an antique hatpin holder, which ladies kept handy on their dressing tables. Nice find👌.
Cheers Suzanna👍🏻🐾🧡
Daisy is beautiful ❤
Happy Easter Si, and Mark. The yellow/blue bottle reminded me of a pencil stub. Japanese one is pretty. What a lovely little jug or pot. The teapot resembles the other pot. Wow, that place is full of lovely treasures.
Cheers Coni! Happy Easter!
Thank you I had a wonderful Easter and Easter Sunday I had a Duckling hatch out from a found egg its named after ther person that found it Rodger
@@markcolyer1989 wow, that’s awesome
Amazing finds! The pot is great. You did such a good job in cleaning up that little bird. I love these videos because not just anyone can make it out to these locations and the scenery is great. Thanks for another great video. Happy Easter 🐇🐰🌷🌿🇺🇸
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I bet it’s been said but I reckon the record. Either Lionel Richie - “Stuck on Hoo, I mean You” or perhaps it’s “The Jam - Going Underground”
Love the videos, Si, thanks for sharing your escapades with us, me ol’ china 😉🙂
I’m a disabled person, Si and because I have such rubbish mobility, I could only dream about going out and doing what you and your friends do and your videos allow me to ride alongside you and let me do what you are doing vicariously and I am so grateful to you for being so generous with your time. Not just the time you spend ‘in the field’ but also the time you clearly spend in editing and all that other stuff you do behind the scenes. It’s all appreciated, Si and so are YOU my old mucker. Now there’s an expression that I don’t very often hear these days. I wonder what the etymology of “my Old Mucker” is. Do you or anyone else on here, know? Thanks Si 🙂👋🏻 bye for now
Appreciate that Martin! I really do. Not sure myself on the Mucker origins. Google says:
The word likely comes from the Irish word "muc," which means "pig." The word "muc" was often used in a derogatory way to describe someone who was messy or untidy. However, over time, the word "mucker" came to be used as a term of endearment between close friends.
@@SifindsYou’re welcome my friend 🙂 and thank you for the info on the word, too. Very interesting. 👍🏻🙂 And a big thank you for taking the time to read the comments and for answering us. God bless you Si. I’m looking forward to the next video now. 😉 Take care matey. 👋🏻
@@martinconyard I try my best mate
How I love that you guys took the cat, the dog, the bird, and you just gonna clean them up and fix them up. Instead of them, just staying there being useless they're gonna look terrific once you're done with them.
Bottles, I can't get enough of bottles!! The little blue cobalt bottle is so beautiful I have factory bottles, not mudlarking bottles though and they're nice light green. And then I've collected other bottles too with color. Some of them might fill up with shells because I love the ocean and I live right by the ocean.
Do you know I never thought about grinding down a lid like the teapot lid to have it fit into the teapot that you have and I think that was just so cool to see that. Watching this video and watching you purpose what you found gives me ideas and that's what I really love about your videos and you tell us about the history of things you find and show us if the building is still a pub because I love England and it's buildings, so thank you for doing that!!
See you in your next video!!😁🫖
Baby shark ready x
Thanks so much! Appreciate the feedback. Here’s to more luck in the muck!
Loved this episode Si, nice one !
Cheers Dan👍🏻🐾🧡
Love your finds Si-Finds.
That pot looks like what my grandmother used to use to let bread dough rise, it had a lid..
Cool!
The little blue bottle is probably Evening in Paris perfume bottle.
Possibly! 👍🏻🐾🧡
It's a Hank Williams song- "I Can't Help It (If I'm Still In Love With You)" and because it appears to have strings backing the vocal I would guess it is an Eddy Arnold recorded version from the 60s. It is on YT.
So close! Well done
Amazing upcycle of the ceramic bird.
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Those island are full of treasures. Great finds. Love the upsicle.
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
There are so many bits on this riverbed, if it was me there I just wouldn't bother getting up before I picked and prodded every single shard 😂😂
Haha! It’s very tempting
I have a yellow Daisy and 12 others! Lol. Great videos, really enjoy them.
Cat heaven!
Making that teapot lid fit was so satisfying! Well done, Si 🫖☕️
Haha Cheers Michele 👍🏻🐾🧡
Nice trouvailles and good vinyle✍😻👍
mate tip for old records to clean them perfect pvc wood glue, leave to dry peel off. brand new
I’ll definitely try that!
I got records, some from the 70s that are damaged. Am going to try your suggestion. Thank you.
Happy Easter Si . I love watching the videos. I love all the old stuff you can reuse. Its something i woukd of liked to do years ago.i
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Iz no candle stick, izza hatpin indeed.
Amazing jug/pot
I LOVE THE COLBALT BLUE BOTTLE AT 22:43 RARE COLOR
Cheers me too!
Not for cooking, storage jar, had a lid. Wood/salt fired. Very lovely piece.
Like the new Hovercraft smart ,good finds ,
Its an Amazing craft thank you
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Hi Si, Happy Easter..I love it when you go out on the hover craft..Some great finds, I really like the little brown triangle bottle…
Yes that’s one of my favourites too x
17:21
little white thing i think would have had a cork on it and be in the top of a bottle ..pourer
Very close!
It's Daisy 🥰🐈❤
Well, I didn’t get the album correct 😟😔 The song 🎵🎼🎤 I can’t help it was one of my mother’s favorites she absolutely loved Hank Williams. Although, she and my father have passed away many years now. It seems like I hear that song 🎶🎼🎵 and I can remember her singing it. Her voice was like Patsy Cline very beautiful.
Well, Si this was another wonderful video with many great finds. Thanks for sharing the song 😊⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜
Cheers Susan!👍🏻🐾🧡
I had great fun following the both of you around, in the muckiest of muck!
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
The Little white piece is a spout minus the cork gasket on the bottom half used in Bottles of various types but usually alcohol pouring in a drinking place/pub/bar.
Not quite 👍🏻
I couldn't tell from the scratching and skipping that it was Glenn Campbell...lol I got to wait on him at a McDonald's in Camp Verde, Arizona back in the 1990's. He was very tall to me. I'm just 5ft 1 inch!!...lol
Ah wow how cool
Cool tea pot. So happy you found the lid!😊
I loved that bird. With all of the little holes in the base it would be perfect for flowers and small branches for the bird to hide in. Also the dog, cat and egg cup faces are a great start for a faces art project of some kind.
It’s so good to see Mark out with you again.. Happy mudlarking😊
Thank you Deborah we certainly find some really lovely things, looking forward to our next trip.
Cheers Deb👍🏻🐾🧡
Another great mud larking finds this day. A great amount of whole finds. A great location to repeat in the future. Happy Easter to all larkers this day. See you on the next, Si! 🇬🇧👍🙂🇺🇸
Cheers Martin. Happy Easter 🐣
Love the bird upcycle.
Cheers Clare! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I'll go with the little known Beatles's Brown Album, a favorite of mudlarkers and dung beetles but banned in the US after a strange reaction with a certain substance at Woodstock.
Hahaha
Great finds! And I’m loving Marks hat! Can’t wait to see what you find next!
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
Happy Easter and you have come across an amazing find indeed 😮😀
My best guess on the H. J. H. ink bottle is that it may be a budget product by the J. Herbin company, possibly produced during the 1920's. Odd how there appears to be no information on these bottles as they show up for sale regularly.
That is a beautiful dog sculpture. Someone did a great job designing the mold for that one. I love him. 😍
Blessings everyone, Si so jealous of your opportunities to Mudlark. Love from Arkansas, USA
Cheers Mudlover! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I LOVE WHAT YOU DID WITH THE UPCYCLING OF THE BIRD!!!
Cheers Matt!👍🏻🐾🧡
That white thing, it’s a pourer, put it in the bottle like a stopper to pour liquids x 18:10
Rolling Stones, my guess for album! Cheers from Pennsylvania, USA. Love your channel!
Great guess! Cheers Larisa 👍🏻🐾🧡
I believe the “BB” on the H.J.H. Writing Ink bottle stands for the ink colour as being “Blue Back”.
Blue back?
Such fun you are very lucky to live in such a historical part of the world. Happy Easter!
HAPPY EASTER MARK
Ty
Thank you have a good one my friend
Stay safe playing in the mud, thank you 🙏
