Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but a trick to get that paint into small areas for highlighting and such. If you're using acrylic paints, thin it out a bit with some isopropyl alcohol, lets the paint flow more easily into the nooks and such. Just a tip from someone who paints miniatures on occasion.

    Simon,
    A bit of "Deja-Vu" ehhh?
I loved the 3 pence cleanup, here in the States , Metal Detectorists find George 1,2 and 3 around old Colonial sites along the East Coast.
As I watch your video, I look East out my window here in Ferndale ,WA. and watch the light snowfall, the first significant one this winter.
I think about you and Nicola braving the winter weather to search for treasures. knowing how complex and diverse the detritus of the past is there.
Our treasures are the Cascade Mountains with old growth forests and some COUGARS!,and on a clear day, I can see Mt. Baker looming up, thirty miles East of here.
We don't have your layered history ,but growing up near the New Jersey pine barrens and the forgotten towns and forges pre and after the Revolution
offered me a glimpse into our early days.
    Cheers,
    Rik Spector

What a treat ...nearly one full hour ....I made a cup of tea and not 1 but 2 crunchie bars ..well they are smaller these days, my excuse any way 🤣..and sat down to watch, loved what you did to the lamp ! ..I watched a show where they needed a piece of curved glass for a cabinet but it's so expensive , so they used perspex and heated it with a hairdryer so they could manipulate it to curve it ..they used crocodile clips and clipped to 2 pieces of wood to hold the perspex in position whilst it was hardening again so as to keep the curved shape! ...I love your idea with the bottle a really useful tip .
Loved the coin and learned something new I had known idea coins were being forged so long ago ...I thought that was a 20th century thing ...amazing that they could do that with the tools they had then ..I guess it's so much easier now and you don't get the death penalty so ....great video sci ...hope you are well and I'm sure dying to get out with all your mudlarking friends when we get back to normal...take care ❤😊

You could try a little purple paint mixed in with the black on the coin, it will help to reduce the orange a bit. Always go for the opposite colour on the colour wheel if you want to try to tone down a specific colour.

I don't know if this is a strange but when I watch your videos, because they are so long it's the perfect amount of time it takes to brush my hair. I like to be entertained while brushing it because it does take a really really long time (usually two videos tops) because the length. I know this is far beyond the intention of your videos but it does really help. 😊❤

Another good method for cleaning silver is to dissolve washing soda crystals in a container of water place a piece of aluminium foil in the bottom of the container then put the silver in. It will create its own electrolysis and clean the silver.

Simon, make a paste of equal parts of salt and flour, and add lemon juice to make a loose paste. Smear it over the brass and copper, wrap in cling film, and allow to set for an hour or two. Then scrub with Scotch-Bright pads or steel wool. Repeat as needed. I think you will be amazed and pleased with results. I've done this with antique fire extinquishers, with excellent result.

What fun Si Finds! Adventures in low water. The lantern is Lovely and the Pipe Queen was happy as well. On some of my old coins I found detecting, I used brown or black shoe polish, paste wax polish. It holds up well and easily washed off with soap and water. Great find inna Muck Simon. A great vid on this snowy day in Pa. But only about 5 weeks until spring! Time Flies! Kind Thanks! Love, Light and Joy! DaveyJO in Pa.
