If you enjoyed this Mudlark, see our previous trip where we find a bucket load of Victorian Clay pipes and coins

English rivers are ecological disaster zones. They are either polluted by raw sewage, field run off, rubbish or invasive (non-native) species. Thanks for sharing your finds.

Dear Simon, the starboard side is the right side with a green light and the port side is left with a red light. I think you may have it reversed. Thank you for a wonderful episode

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but a trick to get that paint into small areas for highlighting and such. If you're using acrylic paints, thin it out a bit with some isopropyl alcohol, lets the paint flow more easily into the nooks and such. Just a tip from someone who paints miniatures on occasion.

That crayfish looks like our native white clawed crayfish. The intruder is the American Signal crayfish. The British one is protected by law under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981) .

I'm pretty sure that the duck is medieval. Rubber ducks are a popular heraldic symbol. 🤪 btw, that coke bottle fix was brilliant!

If I had to climb up and down those terrifying ladders, I could never be a mudlarker. 😳

I loved the look on Si's face when Nicola was so excited about that duck... 🤨

George 111 forged coins were so common his nickname became 'copper knob' because the silver wore off the nose first.

You could try a little purple paint mixed in with the black on the coin, it will help to reduce the orange a bit. Always go for the opposite colour on the colour wheel if you want to try to tone down a specific colour.

Hi Si! Great video! Wow, I just love what you did with the lamp. What a transformation - to think it was at the bottom of that river rusting away for decades and now it's looking fab and hanging up on the side of your mudlarking cave! Love it. N

Lantern came out killer. String a bunch of those pipe stems vertically and make room dividers like the ones made of beads. They had them in the 60-70s. There's so many of them at that site. 👍

Nicola: "Say it like you mean it!" LOL. There's so much in that little stream - love the lamp (it brushed up really well) but what a pity about the token, but still interesting! I thought the key was for a clock - but I learn something new all the time on your channel! Thanks Si!

Si and Nicola need to open a Mudlarking Museum. It could be virtual, but it would be an awesome way for them, and other Mudlarks, to catalog all their finds.

The water or wind sounds in the background keep coming up on closed captioning as "applause." You are getting a lot of encouragement. 😊
