Amazing video, really clear instructions. Came in handy during the free weekend, since for some reason normal non dedicated server multiplayer seems to always spit out an error on side of the person trying to join via steam.

Is there any way to get my friend to join from overseas? I do not have access to the router as it is not my network that I play on so I would not be able to port forward.
One thing to add to the guide would be how to add VoIP to your server, its super simple but requires to go sign up on Unity for auth token and also adding another .json to where the settings are.

Will it just turn off snd on the server no issues when my laptop is on and off sccordingly, or screw something up with the server? Very new to this sorta thing but trying to learn so please no one be rude.... thank you... i am embarrassed to even ask anything....

The server is not visible to anyone and cannot be reached even from another pc on the local network. Cannot reach even with direct connect to the ip. Redoing your steps over and over and over and over, restarting every time it didn't show up in Steam as it did for you. Acdcidently let the video play, and found the part LATER that was as you said required to get the game to show up in steam. Ouch.

Servers work only when the computer that is hosting the server is running. So no, nobody will be able to join the server you host when you shut down your machine.

Cant seem to change difficulty it just always says normal. Their guide has nothing about it since its new in 1.0 i assume.

You need to erase the line difficulty, leave only the coma at the end, and the value need to be set 2, doing this you will set brutal

Setting both EOS and Steam to true for visibility worked for me. No clue why I couldn't direct connect before but now I can

If you've done the setup properly, you should be able to join the server from any PC with LAN/Internet access
