    Product photography is a huge industry. Having amazing product photos is really important when you’re trying to sell online. However, it’s not as hard as it seems. In this video I am going to teach you how to take super simple and professional product photos. With this method you will be able to use items you have at home and if there are some things you don’t have, it will cost you less than $10 for all the materials.
    I got all the majority of the items at Walgreens but if you’d prefer to order them online, here is the links below:
    12x9 White Foam Core: amzn.to/3Ftx8sA
    Packing Tape: amzn.to/3epndbr
    White Baking Paper: amzn.to/312wJOU
    I couldn’t find the large flexible white paper on Amazon, so I advise just going to Walgreens, Walmart, etc. It’ll be cheaper.
    Additionally, I will be showing you how to edit your photos in Photoshop. I go through a VERY simple explanation of how to take the background out of your photo. How to edit two photos together, how to export as a JPG and a PNG and much more. Whether you’re just a beginner or advanced you will be able to follow along as I show you the editing steps in Photoshop even starting from Lightroom.

      Hey, I like these types of tutorials, but all videos are the same ... kind of. A little bit of lighting, product .. beem - easy.
      Why no one talk about camera settings? White-balance settings, which type of profile they use, focusing, which type of lenses and why. I never seen this type of tutorial in any kind of video. But thanks anyway, you at least show something different :))
      btw. if you download "canon camera connect" (something like that) into your phone, you can use it as a remote controller for taking photos. I use it when I have to hold something in the scene. Hope it helps.

      @@jakubsvec7716 that’s a really good point! I think with this, it’s to keep it simple, getting into camera settings and such complicates it a little more. But you make good points. I can make another one that goes over those points as well :)

    since it's summer, I did this outdoors. I did everything the same, minus the lamp. Gotta say--Im really happy with how they look. Definitely the best product pics I've ever taken. the foam board was 97 cents and the poster board was 44 cents. That's all I spent.

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I subbed because of the product photography tutorials, and this editing video was also very helpful. I use (am still learning) Affinity Designer 2 & Affinity Photo 2, but there are enough similarities between those and Photoshop that I can still find value in what you’re teaching.

    What is the best way to make the edges on the item not jagged after cleaning it up? The eraser tool seems to leave jagged lines and having something similar to the pen or curve tool would be so helpful for edges.

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      depends on how close you're zooming in. I use the pen tool or polygon tool. Also depends on the "straightness" of the item.

    How many soft light box would you suggest for a food product photography ? Also can we replace the soft box light with an LED light which is so much in hype now a days. I'm so confused, kindly guide me.

    • @willsimpsonphoto
      @willsimpsonphoto  ปีที่แล้ว

      I dont do much food photography but you can definitely use LED or softbox. Its all about just arranging the light to get the right effect. Any light will work. If theres too much, back the light up, too little, move the light closer. want less shadows, add light on the shadow side, want more, reduce light. Its all about tweaking.
