You could only shoot 2 Genre's of photography for the rest of your life.... what are the two you would pick?? Comment below! Me: Landscape and Products!
Bokeh and landscape
Wildlife and Portrait
portraits and Landscapes for sure!
Landscape and high fashion portraits :)
Portraits/people and products!
Lol I've spent years of my life trying to photoshop dust and dog hair out of my product shots because I'm a slob. Great video king
Hi Danny
Hi Danny
Haha those dog hairs man, nightmare.
Sup Danny, we love you too
How's Maui
Product photography is great and all but I came for the knives. 👌
Chill out, Blade HQ. And move over to my channel.
Ditto 😂
I came for both... 😂
2:42 am I the only one who thinks that the 200mm looks strangely good?
Loved the 200mm!
Same
Yeah, that's the one point I disagreed with him on. 200mm on full frame is the go-to in studio. Especially for bottles etc, for the foreshortening effect and perspective effect is lessened. Especially if you're shooting for deep-etching. Most product work I do avoids bokeh in most cases....
Oh yeah! I'm right there with you! And the way he stood the knife up. . . Epic! 😍
Pete you are the best photographer I have ever seen in my life🔥🔥🔥
Your Product Photography is just like 2 coffees straight on a Sunday Morning ," AWSOME ".🔥🔥🔥
Bigfoot is sometimes confused with Sasquatch.
Yeti never complains.
Omg...just when I needed this...I felt like a hit a wall when it comes to my edit for product photography...i was doing the same thing over and over again ....U sir are truly an inspiration
honestly one of the best videos ever in yt about anything i like how simple nd fast just to the point love it keep it up
More about product photography, please! Especially the lighting!!!
Yes, please
Yes
If you need any photo background removal services and edit photos, Please reply for more details.
The new intro is LITT🔥🔥🔥🔥
where are these lines from?
Needed this for sure, have many friend of mine starting businesses and they are looking to me for their product photographs, much appreciated my guy 🙏🏻
Thanks! I own Bear Claw Knife & Shear in Midland, Texas. Owned this store for 20+ years now and finally opened our online store just last week. I'm not telling you this just to sell stuff. I want to thank you! Your vlogs have taught me so much over the last few months. Because of you, I'll start a travel/knife maker's vlog in another month or so. Can't tell you how much I appreciate you!!! ...Richard
Yo, another Texas PM fan! That's awesome! I live in Burleson, and my Dad does automotive fleet work for a big company in Midland! 👊🏻 You got my sub!
@@GabenatorFilms Well that's awesome, thanks!
@@richardsteinbergmakingknives Yessir!
I have the studio space, modifiers, everything, but find myself shooting outdoors with natural light most of the time. Everytime I watch a product shoot video from Peter it makes me want to do product photography SO bad!
I would have loved to see a lens comparison where the composition is similar (where the knife appears roughly the same size in both shots).
LOVE IT MAN! It’s like the old days! Love these tips and the look of this video is spot on 😍😍😍👌🏻🎥
This video came out the right time as I have been trying alot of product photography lately and loving it :) Cheers Peter :D absolutely love your content :D
Zack Arias once said "If you're shooting something and thinking to yourself 'I'll just fix that in Photoshop later' - I want you to slap yourself in the face as hard as you can."
Man's got a point.
Squarespace part “you don’t have to be a webdesigner” BUT I AM 😭
Then you don't belong here but Squarespace 😂
😂😂😂
The new intro is such a great vibe!
I dance everything I hear it!
You are the standard Pete!
Great points! Think of product shots as scenes and the product is the main character.
Great job with this, you have right. 😎👍
Peter: Make this video two minutes long
Kirk: 5 is the best I can do
Peter: Ok... post it on Monday
Awesome video as always! The energy is just SO GOOD!
I love product photography content ❤️ thx Pete. More of this pls
In which cases you would choose a solid color background? and in which cases you would prefer the more natural surrounding as you did in this video. and do you think a solid color background (like a white background) would help to pop the product more?
And can it be related to the type of product we are shooting?
Thanks a lot!
"Hey, I'm feeling cold: do you have anything I could use to warm up?"
"I've got this acoustic blanket."
"Yeah, that sounds good."
I see what you did there. And I love it.
Nailed it!!
your on-camera presence is spectacular, very magnetic, bravoooo
Love the videos man. I've been binge watching a lot of your videos because I recently just started getting more into editing and a bit into photography. Great tips for me. Do you have any tips for shooting product such as clothing line? Love get some insight. Keep up the great work.
That was a 2 minute Tuesday on a Monday... Still so awesome
"get lighting right or get out" the motto of 2021
Waiting so long for a product photography video! Great!
Thanks a lot Pete. I'm a leathercrafter and love edc, these advices are helpful.
Nice collection. I’d love to introduce you to full customs brother. The next level of being a blade aficionado 😎
Agreed 🙌
Hi Peter, short question...
Love your stye of Product-Photography, but the products you shoot are mostly handsize or smaller... personally I think it would be interesting how you'd handle bigger products (i.e. furniture, an instrument, or something cooler like a nerve gun 😎). I think small products are easier, but unfortunately not always the case ;)
Would love to hear some advice from you.
Greetings from Austria ... (the one without kangaroos 😅)
Ohhhhh man this is what I needed. Thanks Pete for the dope tips!
Perfect length of a PM video. Just enough Peter not to much fluff. Perfect amount of lessons.
Why did I get all the Jared polin vibes from this video. The hair, the “cya” at the end,,,I think Pete has an idol
Edit: autocorrected to Jared Polish 😂
I hope not. Jared can be cocky at times
also, Jared Polin hair. 3:19
@@giovanni1290 Agreed, not a fan of him. Very poor attitude and mindset in dozens of his videos, guy loves to focus on the negatives.
#6: Take your product photos in a hermetically sealed bio-chamber so the inevitable spots of dust that always appear when reviewing your photos go away
Honestly, I love this new quicker style. Kudos!
This applies to food photography so true thanks PM! Always great content.
Those knives look sharp! (literally)
*screaming internally* WHERE IS SQUARESPACE PETE
Loved the vibe of this one, Pete. Also that 200mm shot... kinda a fan not gonna lie. Keep killin it ✌🏽
Thanks for the advice! I think product photography is super unique and fun to do. Also, hilarious last video!👍
3:18 - just realized we've never seen Jared Polin and Peter McKinnon together in the same room🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@@meghanadhv It was an elaborate ruse. They never appear in frame together. Kirk is an extremely talented editor hired to keep this very secret.
Love the video - but here's my dilemma, how do you light the product without lighting the surface?
From 2 sides, one main light and a bouncer or filler on the other side. Think of it as portrait photography.
@@AnnaNovak damn that's complex, non-photographer here so definitely an outsider, might be a basic technique :)
@@scrummyvision Ok :) So! You have the window on one side of your subject and you put a white board on the other side of the subject. That white board will reflect the light off from the window. This way the window side of the subject will be brighter but you’ll still have light bouncing off the board on the other side of the subject. :)
@@AnnaNovak oh i can definitely do that!
thank you for the reply!
I have the Bugout knife. Love it for backpacking because of lightweight it is!
Really digging this short and sweet
I'd be stoked receiving a case like that even if it was empty

#1 mistake to do when starting photography:
*Not subscribing to Peter McKinnon*
Peter! It looks freaking awesome. Love your work.
Thanx Peter...It actually great advice for my product Video Reviews too👊☕
I swear bro every time I watch one of your videos im like 'dang I have to get better lol' love the info man
I miss the guy who you used to do the Squarespace promo with. Did you fire him?
Social distancing.
He might have gone back to live in his mom and dad's basement. Ha....
Love your work man 👍🏼
Love seing your videos frequently now idolo 🔥 🔥 🔥. Let's gooo
One of these days you're going to convince me to set up a website.
Thanks.
Hahahahahaha
Ill getchya!
Those knives are sick!
Thanks for the tips! Always useful!
5 great tips, i'm doing product photography TODAY! :-D
Love the new intro!! IT'S SOO GOOD
I’m not even a photographer but I love your personality and that’s why I watch you lmao
U are not alone laddy

omg same! i don’t even have a camera, i just like his content
Who else thinks Peter McKinnon should make a short film?
You ever seen the bucket shot? :D
@@MelodyXD not really, it's amazing right? I bet it is, all his videos are amazing.
@@ZezFilmsGH beyond amazing. Definitely give it a watch
@@MelodyXD Hell yhh l will
I would definitely recommend one called : "deliver a feeling" its an incredible video with a great story!
Awesome vid Peter! Loving the new intro!
Thank you so much for your awesome videos with the simple things perfect photos .
Intro sequence was sick.
Felt like I just watched this vid in fast forward . 😂
Because I'm so much into Products, Thank you Teacher!! I will do my homework!
Love it man. Thanks for the info!!
02:40 Peter: “don’t use a 300mm....”
Me: I think that photo looks great
Does anyone else’s day get like 10x better whenever Peter uploads?
Pete, great tip as usual..thanks for sharing.
The intro!!! oooh my!! Breathless.
Peter McKinnon: Let's start the video
Brain: Are you ready for the intro
Heart: Don't ask
Body: Come on,not this time
Being this early is a personal accomplishment
Wow don’t get to carried away with living now.
Whoa! Another content! Really love your videos. You inspire us. :)
Thank you so much I extremely needed it ❣️
Number 6: Don’t rush the photo, take your time for your idea to come out too.
i am in the middle of zoom class lmao
LOL
@@PeterMcKinnon hey peter! notice me please 🙏😊
I was about to do some product photography then saw this notif thankyou haha
Great tips Pete, and those knifes are awesome!
POV: u have a tone of homework to do. Pete, nope ur gonna watch this.
Can we talk about the new bomb intro that’s been going on recently ?!
Yess!!! Just the content I needed rn!
The timing of the clasp shutting right at the end. Perfect.
I deposited $500 in Bitcoin myself and allowed mrs kimberly trade for me and I got my payout of $5500 🙏🙏

And where is "whats app everybody Peter McKinnon here" ? 🤣🤣🤣
Man !!! I wanted to say it for the first video... But that intro dude !!! I just had to rewind, turn up the volume to the maximum and watch it 13 times ! mindblowing
I love these types of videos!
6th mistake: Saying that your gear is not good enough...😉
Hey Pete. Do you mind making a video on what lenses you uses for what sorts of photography?
Your always inspiration for me🌟 Thank you so much🙏
Love the new intro sequence!
1) loving the hair!
2) thanks to you, I got a iPhone 12 Pro Max cause you talked my into it! Haha
3)I have a saying that I’m building my life, TH-cam channel and Instagram around, creativity is yours. I know it sounds cheesy but it’s something I’ve struggled with in the past and your videos always help me so they creativity is mine.
Love the videos man
Loved the watch! So cool!
Love your videos Peter! Been subscribed since 100k!! I remember when you hit one million! I literally watch at least 6 of your videos a day. I’ve learned so much and it’s helped me increase the quality of my own videos! Keep it up man!🙌🏼🔥
Thanks Alot for the valuable information! I really appreciate it 👍🏿
this was very helpful. great video man
Great tips as usual bro!
Great tips man. I like those blades too.
