Just another Cotton Picking Video from The Farmhand Mike TH-cam Channel
In this video I visit a farm near Beasley Texas as they are harvesting their 2023 cotton crop with a John Deere 7760 picker baler. This area is in a pretty bad drought so the cotton crop was not real good for this area. After they pick the cotton they shred the cotton stalks using their Case IH 340 tractor pulling a Wood S20CD flail mower. I also included some random farm equipment pictures at the end of this video I took of some of their equipment.

Dry land cotton one year you make 2 bales a acre next year you’re lucky to get a 1/2 a bale farmers are the biggest gamblers in the world

On a normal year in south Texas cotton will usually grow waist high and canopy over and you won’t be able to see the ground.

I'd have checked the spindles on that machine, it's leaving a lot of material behind, my Dad's 2 row IH 616 did a better job than that.

I hear its illegal to grow cotton in a garden, and that you have to have a permit to grow it, reason being that pest nearly took out the entire crops and there are laws in place to keep that weeble under control. That's what I read when I was looking into it.

Hi Mike good video on cotton, in case you would like to know, they are just starting potato harvest up here in Northern Maine, that being Aroostook County, it would be something different to see, we have a good atv trail net up here as well. Dave D.
