    I wish you would have showed inside the dounut shop. It would have been a sweet cultural treat after all that work. I like you commenting. You cou actually do a European travel show when you get your id3. Travel all over Europe dealing with electric infrastructure hype. The we also get food and culture.

      That shop Probably not. Some Cafes would like the attention. I bet you could draw a crowd at various spots around Europe when you drive up with your id3. Their reactions and questions would be interesting. I like see landscape, architecture and highway differences compared to US.

    Thanks for sharing your experience with a road trip in the e-Up. At 11:17 read world charging at only 20kW is painfully slow. If the next generation of battery pack will charge at 50kW up to 80% that will be a big improvement.

    Very nice car for city traffic and (short) stretches on the highway. The only downside for me is the support of the front seats. Standard camping chairs offer more comfort than these "boards with raised edges". But it drives really good, even in eco-mode.

    Many thank for your videos, great job and detailed information.
    I do have 1 question: what is your winter consumption for short distances ? 0 degree outside, clima off, heater at 20 degrees ?
    I’m traveling short distances 10-15 km and my average consumption is 20 to 25 kW / 100. Do you think is normal or should I visit the VW service ?
    Thank you !

    The driver is waisting a lot of energy by maintaining +23 degrees inside. +20 are more than enough. By the way +22 is the default, too high for me, I would prefer to have it set to 18.The car is fine, but after couple of years mine experienced few glitches. I cannot trust estimated distance any more, below 100km estimated it may drop instantly by some 50-60km down. In addition the charging unit inside the car began to show some bugs. Occasionally it refused to provide charge from a home AC power socket. Though, it still worked on a public chargfing station. Sometimes, but not always it started to work from home socket again after I had tried to use public CSS charger. Unfortunately, it appeared again after a while. Diagnostics done at a VW dealer service did not identify any errors, so the issue continued to pop up time to time again. Sometimes it simply started to work again after a certain time. Finally, this year I took my car to the dealer again and this time they confirmed the issue. Installation of a new charging unit is gonna cost me a 1000 euros at a discount. Otherwise I am more than happy with my e-UP.

    Die Ladeleistung ist sehr schlecht. Viel schlechter als der alte E-UP mit 18,xKWh. Der hat wenigstens mit >30Kw bei diesen Temperaturen und SOC >70% geladen. Da waren in 25 min CCS Laden 100Km Reichweite wieder nachgeladen. Die Frage sei erlaubt, warum ein doppelt so großer Akku 32,xKWh nur noch 1/2 so schnell lädt.
    Ja jetzt kommen wieder die Stimmen, Akku schonen usw. Quatsch alles! Beim Fahren werden ja auch deutlich kurzeitig >200A entnommen und im Dauerbetrieb 50A und da wird der Akku kaum 20°C warm. Das ist doch eine Fehlkonstruktion oder nicht gewollt!

    • @ph4030
      @ph4030 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BatteryLife Der neue e-up! kann auch schneller laden. Wenn aber die Zellen zu kalt sind - hier im Video aufgrund der Umgebungstemperatur um den Gefrierpunkt und sie durch den Straßenverlauf (langsames Fahren) nicht richtig warm werden können - leidet nun mal die Ladegeschwindigkeit, da das Akkupaket nicht aktiv temperiert wird. Abgesehen davon empfiehlt es sich, eher im Bereich 5-10 % SoC bis so ca. 70 % zu laden, weil es bei den "Drillingen" danach richtig mit der kW-Leistung runtergeht.
      Hier mal der spanische Verwandte, der SEAT Mii electric, beim Laden bei ca. 10 Grad Außentemperatur:
      th-cam.com/video/grL1t1QnDWE/w-d-xo.html

    • @eup9856
      @eup9856 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ph4030 Ich habe die Werte vom Spanien Video mal nachgestellt. Bei Ankunft an der Ladesäule war der Akku auf 25°C im Wohlfühlbereich. Außen 11°C. Beim Ladestart war der SOC auf 13%. Alle Werte im BMS ermittelt mit OBD11.
      Das Ergebniss: zwischen SOC 13% und 40% gerade mal 31 KW Ladeleistung. Ab 40% sinkt die Leistung rapide ab. Das einzige was steigt ist die Temperatur, am Ende 34,5°C. Und bitte nicht vergessen was die Ladesäule anzeigt sind sämtliche Ladeverlußte mit inbegriffen, die müssen ja bezahlt werden.
      Das was die Drillinge im Sommer abliefern steht noch aus zu bewerten, aber ich denke schon in Richtung Rapidgate....siehe LEAF
