Judge will cost 15 million per year less than Soto and has a higher war rating and the Dodgers can make a trade they shouldn't refuse.

Blake wants to win a ring right now. It's that time in his career and this move makes the most sense to get that done. Oh and the Dodgers have let plenty of guys walk. Trea Turner? Corey Seager? Bottom line is no rules are being broken with how they are signing these guys. If they were, league wouldn't allow it to happen. I do feel this move is indicative of the Dodgers having intel that Roki is leaning towards signing with another team like SD so they pulled the trigger on Snell. We'll see. Imagine if Soto signs with them? The world will lose their minds.
The dodgers superstars are just more likable. I think free agents would prefer to play with Mookie, Shohei, and Freddie over Machado and Tatis. The SD stars are just a bit immature.
What this means for the Padres is that it is now imperative that they get Roki Sasaki, which they have as good a shot as any team to get, probably better. If they get Sasaki, this will be fine. Cease, Darvish, Sasaki, King is a killer pitching staff and we still have one of the best offensive lineups in baseball. We will be very competitive!
SD wanted a rivalry and now it’s in their face lol. Poked the bear one too many times. SDs strategy for 4-5 seasons was to beat the Dodgers and now the Dodgers finally acknowledged Padres and went and signed their beloved Snellzilla! Mmmm, thanksgiving tastes so good this year.
It is not illegal to defer money. It's in the CBA that the players, players union and MLB agreed to. The Dodgers management are willing to spend to continue to improve the team and invest money into the whole organization to show the players as to why they should play for the Dodgers and have the opportunity to win a World Series.
It's not about stars you clown he's asking a legitimate question. Hence why everyone says there should be a salary cap...not sure what stars have to with that lmao looking like the only clown here is you tbh
Honestly as a padres fan I’m happy snell got his money. Sometimes you need to tip your cap and be like okay cool he’s a dodger fuck it. The dodgers are a good team. The padres will be okay. Just have to be positive and watch and see how this offseason goes.
Petco is packed and I see a crowd that loves their team. Why isn't Friars management turning some of that take at the gates back into great players. If the the Dodgers can work these deals, other teams can too. Get with the program!
Such a cry baby….. if Sasaki signed with the dodgers and shoved he would not be lost in the shuffle he would be embraced… look at Anthony Banda, you can say he’s a pretty de ent reliever but because he did great and seems cool LA loves him… they’re about to have a look a like contest for him like they had for Ohtani
I hate this, I still love him and I appreciated him while he was with us. I miss his interviews mid game and his humor. I will be crying myself to sleep remembering a lost one. Gone to the dark side
The Dodgers will continue to be in playoffs every year. The padres are going to have a hard time ever winning a world series with the Dodgers in their division. The Mets and Phillies are to win against.
5:40 that is the wrong way to pitch it to him. Japan loves Ohtani and the Dodgers (Roki himself grew up a Dodgers fan) he isn’t going to want to be the enemy of them. He might want to do his own thing but that doesn’t mean he’d want to be the enemy. I could honestly see him going to the Angels or some American league team strictly so he doesn’t have to compete with Ohtani. Also isn’t Darvish like 39 years old?
Its coming down to Roki for the Padres. He desperately wants to be in a six man rotation. So Padres need to sign at least 3 to 4 starters this off-season so they can guarantee him that. He already knows the Dodgers can
I'm sure that A.J. Preller will do something, but the truth is that the Padres have some financial problems and likely will be looking to reduce payroll not add to it. How many of their free agent will they be able to retain. You're correct in saying that they have the whole off season to do something. What, remains to be seen.
The Padres squandered it last year. Still heartbroken over that. That was the team. Now our payroll is going to be difficult as the window of opportunity is closing as Machado and especially Bogarts age. Bogarts already looks 40.
Deferrels are part of the CBA. I am sure you know this. That's how it's legal and the Padres could use deferrels , too. If they wanted to. Any team in the league could use them but most owners cry poverty when anyone suggest they fill out their rosters with expensive free agents. Just defer some of the salary down the road. No one should be saying how is that fair? Life isn't fair. I had to watch the Yankees do the same thing growing up, minus the deferrels. Now it's the Dodgers turn!
Giants fans are even madder….”Here's how Giants fans and media members reacted to the news that Snell is heading to San Francisco's biggest rival. I hate the Dodgers for an infinite number of reasons but spending crazy amounts of money on their roster isn’t one of them.”
The explanation of signing bonuses in this video is incorrect. Signing bonuses count towards a player's AAV and, therefore, are included in the team's CBT calculation. The bonus is divided by the length of the contract and that amount per year counts toward the AAV and CBT annually. The main purpose of the bonus is to benefit players whose primary residence is an income-tax-free state. This allows the player to avoid paying state taxes on the bonus since it only needs to be reported to the home state.
Not a huge surprise. Dodgers have unlimited dollar resources and desperately need pitching and getting a left-hander is even better. Money means everything and definitely trumps loyalty to a city and friends. He got his security he wanted and the Dodgers can afford to waste their money on someone who is completely inconsistent. They got him simply for the playoffs and on. Something with Padres could never afford to do.
Sasaki next. I’m really starting to get irritated with the craziness of the Dodgers spending. And they are in on Soto? You know they are not done either. Preller giving Bogarts that contract and Cronenworth deal is killing us
Andrew Friedman drafted him, and he's the head man at the Dodgers with former Padres GM Josh Byrnes. They get their targets because their front office is better than ours.
Funny part is. If shohei picked San Diego and deferred his contract there. He would be happy. Players are just preferring to play somewhere they want to and even willing to take a pay cut just so they can be part of the Dodgers
@@am3lagrimas410Shohei didn’t go to LA just for the contract. He went there because of the organization. Why else did he add retaining Andrew Friedman into his contract? He would be happy in SD, but he’s much happier in LA.
The Padres are not even in the same universe when it comes to player development, dedication to winning, they can offer the 6 man rotation, he will have greater opportunities for endorsements in LA, Japan is Dodger territory, he will always be surrounded by a winning team, Roberts is the better manager, the organization is better on all levels, and most of all, the Dodgers are not broke. Sasaki will be a Dodger.
"Did he want to go to the Dodgers?" I mean considering it's still early into the offseason and free agency and he already signed with a team, I'm gonna say yeah Snell wanted to go to the Dodgers haha.
@hp7639 yeah I get Scott Boras wants to get his clients as much money as possible. But there's 62 MILLION dollars DEFERRED. So Snell is playing for way less than that for the duration of the contract. I didn't think Scott Boras would ever allow derferrals in any contract he sees 😂
Yeah Blake didn’t want to go to the Dodgers but he’s the one that posted himself in Dodger blue before it was announced so it doesn’t sound like he didn’t want to go there lmfao…
The Padres can do the same thing. If you want Max Fried, give him 20million signing bonus and defer his pay for 3 seasons. You can do the same thing and builds up your rotation too.
If any players want to play in the World Series, many of them will now think of playing for an AL Team where they can possibly show up in the World Series AGAINST the NL champion Dodgers. I don't think players would want to sign with SF, SD, Colorado, or AZ for next few years because realistically they are playing for a wild card slot
The Dodgers are literally doing what the Yankees used to do. They are buying all the good players because they can and plus no one wants to go with a team that can’t win even with the best players of the last three or four seasons, and the other thing is the Padres have a lot of bad players that were once good, but can’t hang anymore And they need to get rid of a lot of them because it’s literally holding them back to accomplish what they really want a a World Series championship
lets be honest, if the Padres made the exact same moves as the Dodgers did in the past 2 years and picked up those players, would this guy still be upset? its only because it was the Dodgers who did it. and if I was Sasaki and i was asked, "do you wanna join a good team or do you wanna join a good team that has proven they can win a championship?". thats not a hard decision to make
I’ve been thinking we helped Boris he should help us. If Soto decides to sign with Boston we should take advantage of that. Cease, Bogarts, Suarez for a butt load of top prospects, and Soto will sign with you Boston. Soto help recruit Bogarts, he’s a Boris client along with Cease. That would free up a lot of salary and help us resign our free agents.
So i guess its ok when Padres gave 20 million dollar signing bonus to Machado in 2019 for 10 year 300 million contract and then in 2023, when giving extension for 11 year 350 million, you guys gave 45 million dollar signing bonus to Manny Machado. I guess those contracts are fair but not when Dodgers give 52 million to Snell as a signing bonus. 😂
What happened to the Padres? I remember a few years ago when they got Soto and Bogaerts, the team had a parade and said it's not if we will win the world series, but how many we will win.
Re the 2020 Rays, their two best SPs (Glasnow, Snell) are now Dodgers. Kinda like how after OKC blew the 3-1 series lead against the GSW, Durant found himself a Warrior. Maybe the Pads go for Flaherty, since he's gone. Don't know what they do with Gonsolin, May is probably in the pen, and am hoping for, well, who ever thought that Kershaw would be the worst in a 6 man rotation? Yamamoto, Sasaki, Ohtani, Snell, Glasnow, Kershaw. For more depth, Gavin Stone and Bobby Miller. Lastly, some of us D fans do not want Soto. Teoscar will work just fine. Hope Soto becomes a Met. For an almost forgot, if you're at a Pads game and have a chance to speak with Yu, can you kindly tell him for me that he might be with the D's now except he wet the bed in his two starts in the WS (it was well and truly ugly). Live in HNL and was in line at the market and was talking to some gal from Dallas here on vacation and I brought up Yu. Then he went out and wet the bed, twice.

@RO-pg9hw The spending ended the minute Peter died. The wallet has been zipped tight and rather than going out and improving the team where they need help they appear more worried about raising ticket prices and cutting payroll. Not a good look
Why would Sasaki want to go to the padres. Darviah is old and will retire next 2 or 3 years. He can go to the dodgers and be there for more years with Othani and Yamamoto. I hope we get Soto so you can get sponsored by Kleenex

Dude spent 3 years in SD after a trade from Tampa Bay. You talkin like he was a long term team legend and pillar of the organization. Padres didn't even fight to keep him after he won the Cy Young. Snell owes SD nothing. Go Dodgers.
Healthy Snell & Glasnow reunited in Dodger blue is making me excited for the season to start, not gonna lie.
Corey Seager left, Trea Turner left, Cody Bellinger left
They let machado go too 😂 this guy acts like they didn’t let talent leave
Why would the Padres want to pay Snell $180 mi over 5 years when we can pay Xan $280 million years for 10 years?
You mean $229 for 9 years.
“They hate us cus they ain’t us”
I'm sure you asswipes throwing crap on people in your own pisspoor stadium has something to do with the hate. Damn what a dumbass comment for sure but hey as long as Kendrick says it then ride with it like the sheep you are 😂😂
Padres did go on a shopping spree a few years ago and San Diego went crazy but later realized they couldn’t pay the players and had to get a loan . The hate is real .
It’s funny to me that the padres consider the dodgers as their biggest rival seems like a 1 sided relationship
Lets Go Dodgers. We love you San Diego. Stop hating. California love. All other organizations just forget about the future. Dodgers are baseball. Everything is rightfully ours.
What's illegal about doing a signing bonus or deffer money. MLB is a business and therefore can make contracts in the best interest of the investor.
Haha LET'S GO DODGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a Dodger fan, this video gave me the energy I needed to get through the second half of my work day. Thank you. Take my like.
LAD gave the Padres Manny and Darvish. Padres also had Snell but couldn't get to the WS with him either. excuses, excuses, excuses 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣
I just remembered you even had Soto. give me a break. LAD should sign Soto just to rub it in the Padres face 🤫🤭😂
@@user-yy8rc3co5zultimate troll job
@@user-yy8rc3co5zI have a better idea. The Dodgers could jack the price up on Soto and if the Yankees get him for 55-60 million a year make a trade to unload Yankee salaries getting Aaron Judge for $40 million a year trading Gonsolin, Lux, Grove, Knack, Kelly and or Pages. Judge will cost 15 million per year less than Soto and has a higher war rating and the Dodgers can make a trade they shouldn't refuse.
Snell isn't that big of blow to us bro 😂 he's cool and all but I would rather get fried or Shane Bieber who will have a much lower price tag. A Lotta dodger fans are cool but cmon man. Get a grip. Dodger nation is always making vids go celebrate with other dodger fans
@@Gidgy_Widgyi would rather pay more money and get a 2 time cy award winner then those other 2 you mentioned
Padres suck. Go Dodgers ⚾️🔵
It’s legal there’s nothing against it stop whining and complaining
It is not illegal to defer money. It's in the CBA that the players, players union and MLB agreed to. The Dodgers management are willing to spend to continue to improve the team and invest money into the whole organization to show the players as to why they should play for the Dodgers and have the opportunity to win a World Series.
Funny when your team does it, it’s cool but when dodgers do it “it’s bad for baseball”
How is that legal!!! You guys have all stars bro relax.. clown
Facts the Pads have a good squad

Honestly as a padres fan I’m happy snell got his money. Sometimes you need to tip your cap and be like okay cool he’s a dodger fuck it. The dodgers are a good team. The padres will be okay. Just have to be positive and watch and see how this offseason goes.
Petco is packed and I see a crowd that loves their team. Why isn't Friars management turning some of that take at the gates back into great players. If the the Dodgers can work these deals, other teams can too. Get with the program!
They’ve spent on players. The problem is they don’t have the money or tv deal the dodgers have
It sucks until your team does it, then it'a brilliant 🤦♂️
Exactly bunch of haters ha ha
Machado got a 45 million signing bonus with the Padres … not one padre mentions that
@@garciahex your absolutely right
Stop hating because your team doesnt have 2 formidable starting rotations 🤣😂🤣
No such thing as 2 rotations. If you mean 2 starting pitchers micheal king and dylan cease both placed higher than your ace in Cy young voting
Russel. WE ARE YOUR FATHER❕lmao
He already knows the Dodgers can
SD should sign trevor B for the league minimum. Why not !!
I agree, and he's cheap,
I'm sure that A.J.
That’s because he is 40. Dominican players typically lie about their age to receive longer contracts and more money.
@ he’s not Dominican
Deferrels are part of the CBA. I am sure you know this. That's how it's legal and the Padres could use deferrels , too. If they wanted to. Any team in the league could use them but most owners cry poverty when anyone suggest they fill out their rosters with expensive free agents. Just defer some of the salary down the road. No one should be saying how is that fair? Life isn't fair. I had to watch the Yankees do the same thing growing up, minus the deferrels. Now it's the Dodgers turn!
They don’t cry poverty. They just don’t want to shell out that money. Contracts are out of control.
@kyleknapp1985 What if your job or business paid that much. Would you say no, I don't want that kind of money?
Giants fans are even madder….”Here's how Giants fans and media members reacted to the news that Snell is heading to San Francisco's biggest rival.
I hate the Dodgers for an infinite number of reasons but spending crazy amounts of money on their roster isn’t one of them.”
A rare Andrew Freidman L was allowing trea turner and corey seager go. Dodgers still have a shortstop void rn. They dont keep everyone
What a time to be alive!!!
Snell going to the Dodgers with Friedman and Glasnow also being from Tampa Bay makes this a seamless move for Snell
50 Mil sign on bonus? Padres had to borrow 50 mil to cover payroll !! LFGD
YOU CAN SEE THIS GUY FACE
HE IS GONNA BLOW UP
The explanation of signing bonuses in this video is incorrect.
@@tfchu01 I updated it in the description
Not a huge surprise. Dodgers have unlimited dollar resources and desperately need pitching and getting a left-hander is even better. Money means everything and definitely trumps loyalty to a city and friends. He got his security he wanted and the Dodgers can afford to waste their money on someone who is completely inconsistent. They got him simply for the playoffs and on. Something with Padres could never afford to do.
Padres are full of inconsistent players. Same reason they got bounced out of the playoffs.
Padres should have deferred Eric Hosmer contract
Good thing you guys got Xander for 9 more years. The gift that keeps on giving.
On this episode of …Crying Friars
I never thought I would have to not like Blake Snell. Man this hurts. Have to open the checkbook this winter
😂👏👏👏👏
Just be glad he is a second half guy, pitches only 5 innings and didn't prove himself in the post season.
Sasaki next. I’m really starting to get irritated with the craziness of the Dodgers spending. And they are in on Soto? You know they are not done either. Preller giving Bogarts that contract and Cronenworth deal is killing us
Lux will be traded for Garrett Crochet
they will definitely get the croch rocket.
@@hp7639farm isn't good enough to get him
Andrew Friedman drafted him, and he's the head man at the Dodgers with former Padres GM Josh Byrnes. They get their targets because their front office is better than ours.
Why don't we just develop good young baseball players? Having 9 Merrills would be pretty good
Good luck with that pitch. 😆
When are you going to stop crying and realize your franchise is letting you down
Funny part is.
The two biggest Dodgers' signings was Josh Byrnes and Dave Roberts, former Padres
And they are not done yet, they will make more signings and trades. Its going to be a dynasty to come little brotherrrrrr..😅
some young rookie team will win it all next year 😅
Quit your whining Padres fans. At one point you had both Snell and Soto on your roster but have nothing to show for it. Go Dodgers!!!!!
LA Dodgers #1
IF YOU WANT TO END UP IN COOPER TOWN COME TO THE DODGERS 💯
From a Dodger’s fan I thank you for the hate. 😂😂 Goooo Dodgers.
5:35 dude someone is coping hard lmao
"Did he want to go to the Dodgers?" I mean considering it's still early into the offseason and free agency and he already signed with a team, I'm gonna say yeah Snell wanted to go to the Dodgers haha.
Scott Boras. $$$$ all business. He can care less.
AJ finna pull a, “I understand it now” ahhh move😂
It’s a great incentive for snell too, cuz his bonus is earned in Washington state w no income tax. Big brain 🧠
lets be honest, if the Padres made the exact same moves as the Dodgers did in the past 2 years and picked up those players, would this guy still be upset? its only because it was the Dodgers who did it.
and if I was Sasaki and i was asked, "do you wanna join a good team or do you wanna join a good team that has proven they can win a championship?".
thats not a hard decision to make
I’ve been thinking we helped Boris he should help us.
If I’m a free agent pitcher! Why the hell would I sign with the padres knowing I have to face the dodger all year long!! Lmao
