Peter Seidler authorized these contracts because he hoped to win a title before he died and knew it wasn’t going to be his problem! There was no need to give Machado the 2nd contract, no need to sign Bogaerts, no need to extend Darvish but they did… they made their bed, now they have to lay in it!
“Knew it wasn’t going to be his problem”…that’s a bit harsh, even for me.
I'm pissed and completely put off with this upcoming season. We had the best Padre team we've ever had and still couldn't do it. Now, next season, the Padres team is gonna be completely different. No doubt it isn't going to be as good as the last Padre team, so we know what that means. Oh, well. I'm only gonna watch to see Jackson do his thing. I'm sure when the time comes, he will be gone too. If that happens, I will officially be done with the Padres, though.
*TRADE SUAREZ PLEASE*
@@Oscar61985 why
Dodgers love hitting off of Cease. He was the main reason the Padres lost in the NLDS.
@@jasonleetaiwan 24 scoreless innings helped too. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I’m sure Sasaki wants to play for the Padres so he can be a 6 year rental.
They just traded for Cease last season and now they want to unload him.
Shameful.
@@kermit1 shameful for getting years worth of players for one year of a 3.5 era pitcher? I’d call that smart

@@jdsthirdexactly. They might as well make right with King and trade him too if they won’t be able to afford him when his contract is up

15:25 That’s right, you ain’t like us. That “Beat LA” chant is gonna sound a bit weaker come next season when those bandwagon fans stop going to see the Padres.
Having the richest ownership group in the league doesn't make you a bada$$ or cool or even respected in any way. Coming onto Padres pages is a cowardly thing to do but there are always plenty of you showing us how petty you can be.
The small "d" energy is emanating from you.
When we do beat you we'll be highly respected by the entire league but you guys just buying rings wont be. You'd be wise to learn the distinction

@@GJLCreativeStudios The Yankees bought most of their 27 rings and they're highly respected. People just want to win and "respect" has nothing to do with it. Did you "respect" Tatis and Machado's behavior during the Playoffs (which I think was part of the reason they lost to the Dodgers imo)?
@@GJLCreativeStudios Now say that without crying. Youre just mad your team is NO LONGER spending. Prepare for the OLD Padres.. last place. Window is closed.
My god dodger fans are clowns. They are bandwagon fans who are lucky to have a huge tv deal an ownership. Most of them don’t even know baseball.
If a Cease trade does happen, I wouldn’t mind a padre Red Sox trade. Cease for Wilyer Abreu and Kutter Crawford
I honestly believe padres will trade Cease and Arraez to cut payroll
Who cares about profar. He’s not going to have the same season
I’m sure this news instills so much confidence in the team for Cease.
Sasaki will not sign with a team that is struggling to build a true contender year in and year out let alone pay to keep good pitching to compete .
Troll on, boomer. Troll on
Struggling to compete, and trying to win a WS are two different things
Honestly would I be sad to trade cease yes , but think if it money wise also like there are other pitcher on the free agent market are they Dylan cease no but they could get someone else for less money but more yrs also the reason we don’t have lots of money is because of terrible signings of bogarts , crony and definitely a few others
trading cease would be a huge mistake. he is their "counter" to dodger's great hitters.
