You going through the history and commercial decline of the specific breed of turkey you're holding while going on a tangent about your family in a completely monotone voice all while slowly petting the turkey you're about to slaugher is the type of content I subscribed for.
I’m sorry you went through all that effort for a Thanksgiving with your family, just for them all to basically blow you off. Hope you’re getting the appreciation you deserve now!

I agree, I personally couldn’t process my own animals. I grew up on a farm where it was very typical, but now as an adult, I just want to snuggle all my babies. Definitely a lot of respect for those who do raise and process their own animals. ❤
RIP John Snow... he saved my life from the horrid Minnesotan winter by wrapping his warm, loving, and especially succulent wings around me.. he kept me from freezing.. I am able to walk today because of him. Thank you John Snow.
I thought you were joking about killing Jon snow right up until you did, and then I accepted it, and then I was so happy to see him alive at the end 😍 what a whirlwind
I came to the comments to process my love and loss that happened in a 5 minute span. Your comment saved me from a painstaking week of vegetarian food and sobbing.
Thanks for the spoiler (seriously) I live in the suburbs I don’t know much about living on a farm, but my dad grew up on a farm and he did teach me one thing. People don’t tend to name things they’re going to eat. So that’s why I was very confused that she was going to eat John Snow. I’m glad she didn’t. 😊

rest in peace John Snow. My neighbors are homesteaders, and for a period of time they had a flock of small white turkeys. One of their toms was named Gobble-Gobble Steve and he would show up on our porch in the wee hours of the morning and make our dogs go wild.

My family and I smoked our turkey this last Thanksgiving for the first time and it was amazing! We used a pellet smoker and didn't even do a brine! Also I stuffed it with hm cornbread stuffing which ALSO got smoked and it was so incredibly good.
Honestly no feedback, I love all the content you've made. I love art, I love pets, I love farm animals. And I'm an artist over 30 so being tired is both obligatory and relatable. Keep on doing what you're doing!🎉
I really bwas convinced John snow got the knife. That's a nice little tidbit at the end about why some animals get to live and others dont. I think a lot of people are to scared to think about their meat consumption and the morality behind it or lack thereof. Fascinating.
I just finished my shift, and I am happy you posted! Someone ordered a large iced coffee with 16 skim milk and 10 hazelnut. There was barely an inch of coffee. Another guy ordered a small macchiato with 3 extra espresso shots.
Ngl, I was upset like "how could you name the bird then cook him??" 😭😭😭 But I'm happy it was a long con joke! Lol good job on the cooked turkey! It looks yummy!

This is so great ! Me and my wife love your videos ! And we would love to see more of your cooking/story videos even if it was just durning the holidays. We need more !
Try putting a smaller bird inside your Turkey next time, like a Cornish hen. All the flavor/juices go into the bigger bird and it has the illusion of being fancy.
this was so nice. lovely to watch. my only cooking tip: rock the knife from the tip to the heel instead of "chopping" straight down and it makes cuttin a lot easier
I prepared my turkey the exact same way last Thanksgiving. Butter in hands and everything. Only thing is I used foil over the top. And I cooked mine overnight for 9 hours and it was absolutely amazing.
This woman is bad ass. Her voice, style, artistic skills, love for animals, and the fact that she totally had me thinking she named, caressed, and then proceeded to kill John Snow. Also, that cooked turkey looked beautiful omg🤤 My worst thanksgiving was when my grandpa decided to make the deviled eggs with miracle whip and made apple stuffing instead of regular. Apple stuffing doesn’t work with my turkey, stuffing, mayo sandwiches which imo is the best part. Now that he’s gone, I would love to have that thanksgiving back
I always do brining, butter under the skin, and aromatics on the bottom. It's how my papa taught me, though I do mix up the seasonings. We also do the cheese cloth method, but with a butter mixture, and it is AMAZING every time.
you could make a compound butter with your Midwest garden herbs and fly in special order some European or New Zealand butter because theirs is very complex, it would go well with herbs, let it sit overnight put the butter under the skin use like 2 pounds of butter? Taste it after you made the compound butter.
you’re such a gem 😭🤍🤍 thank you for this video 🥰 jon snow is so cute and as someone who has to cook the turkey, i enjoyed seeing how you prepared yours. i also change my recipes up often bc you’re right, unless you find the holy grail recipe, there’s always room for improvement 🥰🤍
I love that sweatshirt! Also one of my clearest memories of my childhood is my mom hanging the chickens to bleed out on the swing set WHILE kids were out there playing. Good times
I'm not vegan, but I lived with my Aunt who is vegan for a year, and we made home made mock duck for thanksgiving. It actually turned out super good, plus it was fun to make. Kind of like turkey, it's all about how you prepare it. It's basically just pure gluten, but with enough spices and a tasty broth, I actually liked it better than most turkeys I've had.
This was excellent. But the thing I am most impressed by is that you are doing all of this while wearing this most beautiful sweater. I could never be so bold.
Really interesting! I don’t know about anybody else but I’m from the uk and we always stuff the turkey with lemons, oranges, herbs and butter to keep it moist and add flavour.
We had backyard chickens for a few years. We told ourselves when the hens stopped laying we would eat them. I spent Saturday mornings watching videos on how to humanely process chickens, knowing that it would be some years before I had to do it. Well, through a series of unfortunate events, that day came very quickly. I was not ready.
