Thanks guys 😂 great mile stone. We have a lot of job when replacing them every 2-3 yrs. On previous CFM 56-7 no problem at all.

Man I'm just sick and tired of replacing these, I just couldn't hold myself from laughing when he said "lasts forever"

@@abdurahmanmansoor1872 can you guys elaborate for the non jet experts ?

Well done Josh and Greg :) What a dream job! "Trust me! I'm an engineer!". So pleased GE is pioneering and popularising these technologies. So few industries are willing to take such risks. Seeing it working in front of your eyes must be super satisfying!

These nozzles are complete trash. There are currently being changed frequently costing airlines worldwide millions.

Fuel nozzles that last for 2 years you mean.. keeps us in a job though 😂😂

A double tube central nozzle with vortex by air pressure with 45° drilled off of vortex front edge thru center with forward wall of vortex cut with 45° off of vortex cut angle to outer straight thru creating a vortex while a straight thru with mixture results better with cleaner burn with more mixing without extra excessive turbulance.. vortex injection slightly both interfering to outer straight, slight turbulance for better cleaner mix but without airflow obstruction.. actual injector before both. Creating a dual more effective intefearing airflow causing better atomization.. happy new year!

I would like to know the process of certifying the part to make sure it's ready to be used

We are already changing the fuel nozzles after 2500 to 3000 flight hours. They don’t last forever.

    Great~!
I Wonder What The Next Big Engine Part Will Be Built Using 3-D Printing ....
And Cars, Ships, Subs (Plumbing), Guns....

Wasnt additive (3D-Printing) manufacturing already used in the GEnx Fuel Nozzle? Or am I mistaken? I think i read something about that before...

    • @krissp8712
      @krissp8712 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

It seems like that. On the CFM channel they talked about scaling down from the GEnx to the LEAP.

Can that be incorporated to the existing jet engines?

So far if we replace fuel nozzle, in the insert lockpad some parts are often broken

Good. I am not from this field, why are there 2 passages to fuel nozzle? That makes it look like Y shape.
      Thanks for your valuable time.

@@cck0728 One is primary flow and the other is secondary flow... Secondary flow will be the fuel line which will be active during the full engine cycle and in the primary flow , the fuel flow will happen only during starting and in some cases during idling depending on the conditions outside..You can differentiate them by the difference in diameter of the two lines

    Objectives of TurboFan 2k21
    1)High bypass ratio
2)Low emissions by fuel tech/condition monitoring and efficiency
    3)Lowest possible mass
    4) Maximum electricity generation

Err, that first guy is Australian. And CFM is only 50% owned by GE - SNECMA owns the other half and about half the development of the LEAP engine was done in France. Heroes, maybe, but by no means all American.
